39 years ago I asked my current wife to join our work indoor cricket team [the twisted kids] ,she did, now 3 kids 3 grandkids so many houses 4 dogs 5 cars,i digress ,my employer of 20 years asked me to talk to my wife about quitting she had just become pregnant with our first, so i quit along with her and we started a cleaning business which went for nearly 34 yours until covid put an end to that,but it was such a good move ,we met a lot of people,so i thank them for there ignorance

My son is 2.5 years old and for health reasons we have to keep him out of daycare. This was easy enough when the weather was nice as we would go to the park/beach, but now it's getting cold and rainy we're often stuck inside. What's your go to rainy day activity for little ones?

You can also put on rainy day wear and go puddle stomping and for walks with the umbrella. Rain doesn't have to be a sentence to the indoors. Walk an indoor mall. They usually have little people areas to climb on soft big animals or ride a little train or carousel indoors. At least the malls in America have those features. Hopefully there too.

If you walk down a sidewalk when they fix it, they don t make sure it is level. Store have small lips or steps just before you go into a strip plaza. Malls isles aren t wide enough. Old restaurant do even have to be handicap friendly. How can we fix this problem.

In Armadale we have a shopping centre near us where the whole front pathway of the shops is sloping. It is hairy when trying to negotiate this and feeling like you are going to tip over. One shop in the same suburb is renowned for having boxes and boxes of goods stuck in their aisles. Trying to negotiate this last year, I knocked over a pile of boxes and smashed at least one large ornament and probably more in those boxes. It is so frustrating! Have not been back in there since but have observed from outside the shop that their aisles are slightly better, but far from acceptable yet!. On the other hand my Woolworths in Kelmscott has wide clear aisles free from obstructions. And apart from that, they are always helpful and considerate. Most Woolies shops have the same wide aisles and clear pathways and on behalf of us with wheelchairs, may I say a huge thank you to them. How can we fix the problem - stick all the powers that be in wheelchairs and send them off for a day to shop! Perhaps that might wake them up.
Edit: Wow, I just noticed some of the comments on here and am really gobsmacked! We do not expect perfection, but let me just say that money can be found for many minority groups who are always in the media, we can find money to float a republic, have a debate about putting an first nation voice in parliament, give pay rises to politicians who don't deserve them (some do), and fund hundreds and thousands of dollars worth of fireworks, political lunches and heaps of other selfish causes. But a ramp into a shopping centre or an even entry - wow, aren't we selfish and entitled???!!! Hope some of you don't get to the stage where you face some of the problems we do!

If the Federal Government would simply ban all Foreign Investment is Housing and scrap Negative Gearing for All Housing this would, reportedly, open up 10s of 1000s of Houses, Flat etc. for rent. It is also reported that those who own Housing - both Foreign and Australian Residents - deliberately keep their properties un-occupied for Tax Purposes. We hear Politicians, the Unions and others constantly complaining about how Multi-National Corporations pay Little or No Tax on their revenues in Australia - Successive Federal Governments - both ALP and Coalition - have failed to close off the mechanisms these organisations use to avoid paying any Tax. But never a word from any of them about the deliberate, but Legal, rorts, scams, cons - call them what you will, used by Politicians, Union Bosses and others to avoid paying tax on their own Housing Properties which they deliberately keep Un-Tenanted. One Federal ALP MP reportedly has $12 million invested in housing - he conveniently "forgot" to list a $1miilion property in his Asset Disclosure Statement to the Federal Parliament and his mates, both ALP and Coalition, in the very same Parliament did NOTHING.
They won't do anything to put a stop to these scams because they are all up to their necks in this sort of Corruption and are Operating a Protection Racket for themselves.
Faint hope it may, be but maybe the new wave of Independent, so-called Teal - Members of the Federal Parliament - unless they have their snouts in the same trough of Corruption - will force the Albanese ALP Federal Government to actually get off it's self-satisfied, greedy backside and address this issue.

Do you have the income, so you can see a Dentist often for a check-up and a clean to your teeth? Say every six months is the general time frame to get checked. My teeth are falling to pieces and since we were scammed out of $53,500 things have been tough making ends meet, I have asked WINZ 3 times for help but they keep saying you have too much in the bank, we only have enough to cover the mortgage, power, rates etc but no help. If I go to the dentist the only place the money can come from is our food money so I am well and truly stuffed. But they can put people who play the system in emergency accommodation and pay $1,000 a week. Plus help them pay rent arrears and repairs for their last house they trashed!!

Do you find as you get older you lose more friendships? If so why does this seem to happen? I recently turn 30, I used to have lots of friends in my 20s but now as i grow older i have less. I may not have as many now but the ones that I do have are basically like my family. Maybe we lose friends over years as there not really true friends to begin with? I ask this, because many phones, computers and, even, some businesses are doing away with passwords and are moving towards fingerprint scanning, iris scanning and chip scans. They claim it's more secure, but I still prefer to use a password, because I find the other new technologies a bit concerning. What are your thoughts about all of this?

The police told me that one method most used by hackers is entering people's computers through their MSN...ICQ or YAHOO messengers ....The police advised me to delete all messengers from my computer ..... When I was hacked I was hacked on MSN messenger whilst unknowingly chatting to the person who hacked me, whilst she was in my computer sending copies of my business files to everyone on my friend's list

What is it with parents these days? Odd baby names, whether names spelt wrong or using accepted surnames as first names. Some babies are even stuck with names of fruit or items in nature. Through the past years, children who have grown up with unusual first names have always developed psychological problems and have no direction in life. Do you listen to songs in other languages? These being languages that you do not speak or understand well (need a translation for). I personally, enjoy listening to songs sung in Aramaic, Russian and Serbian Slavic. Unlike some of my constituents, I do find the interpretation or translation of the song in a language I do understand.

I believe that those titles need to be earned. And you are only a mum or a dad if you step up and are actually involved in your childs life all the time. I went to an all boys school and if anything, thanks to the plethora of paedophile teachers - including female ones, who were the biggest bullies of all - we came out as misandrists. Yes, in some ways Co-ed schools are better but let us not forget that girls can be every bit as cruel, nasty, vindictive - especially towards other girls - Their bullying techniques have, somehow, been developed into an art which is passed down from one year to the next and they take that through to their adult lives.

What do you think of Daylight-saving? Some countries have it, and some don't. Some states, territories, in Australia have it. Some people seem to either love it, or hate it! I've slept with the same snorer my parents sleep with: Charlie (Heinz59er, dog), is the loudest sleeper; he snores, farts, barks, yips, grunts, growls, yelps, and even sleepwalks! My parents thought he was possessed the first night he was in the house. I had a dog that was 8 when she tore a ligament in her back leg . We put her on a product called "biovet joint suplement" mixed into hamburger, within a month she walking on her own six months she was walking up and down stairs again on her own in a yr she was running around almost like when she was young . We kept her on it until she died at 14 1/2. No arthritis.

I think everyone is very naive if they think IT will be the gift to humans. Why do we need it to do our housework or open doors or 1000's of other things we humans can do for ourselves. Yes it can be helpful in operations but controlled by humans just the same. SciFi is coming true as whatever man thinks of he will eventually create and giving AI the tools to teach themselves is a dangerous road to take.
I think scary times are ahead in the future with the scientists just going too far. It is already doing more than delivery of Pizza or cleaning etc. People are talking to them as if they are real live humans and some of these robots actually look very close to that.

What Christmas Traditions do you have? When my brother and I were young, our Dad would always wrap a potato up in lots and lots of newspaper and put it under the tree, and we would be there on Christmas morning unwrapping this huge parcel, only to find Dad had done it again. As we got older we would go to the midnight church service and when we got home open one present from under the tree. I still use the recipe my Grandmother used to make Christmas...

Friends and coworkers think we should get together at the bar regularly for drinks as a girl's night thing and although it sounds nice I can not afford to go. Is it rude or should I trust they understand. Maybe just go one time and order water with a lemon slice and when you get the chance, tell your work mates of your situation. I'm sure they will understand and sympathise with you. And if they offer to buy a round, accept graciously and don't worry about having to pay them back. They wouldn't offer to buy you a drink and expect one in return. I saw a TV show where a woman owned a business and her executive assistant was offered another job and when she found out it was a friend of hers who made the offer, she felt betrayed, but the friend said it was just a good business move, and had nothing to do with their friendship. Is that the right attitude? Should business deals, hiring/firing, corporate takeovers, whatever, be made regardless of who the people involved are, even if it's family or friends?

I m not a prude by any stretch and realise that breastfeeding is a very natural and beautiful thing that shouldn't feel shameful. But in saying that I don't think I'd personally feel the need to put on a breastfeeding exhibition when out in public. I do think some women now do it for attention, posting their breastfeeding pics on Instagram etc.

You can't really compare it to the last time you helped someone. Everyone is different and not everyone will screw you over. If I had enough money to spare I would help my partner provided he's not blowing all his money on drugs, alcohol, gambling etc. and then expecting others to give him money for his necessities.

With my mum in law passing a few weeks ago, the family had the unenviable task of going through her unit to get it ready for sale, as it was in an aged care village.
She kept cards, and the grandkids were going through them, (they are all adults), and found so many from/to their dear 'Pa' that they had sent many years back when they were little (he passed in 1988), and the kids were thrilled to see them & took them home for themselves as keepsakes.
I guess everyone is different, not everyone is sentimental. I feel it's disrespectful to throw them out.

I have planned a surprise party for my husband's 40th, never in my life attempted to do such a thing, so one day the thought came to my head and I spoke to my mother-in-law and she supported me in my decision, I choose a restaurant in Moonee Ponds. Just had mainly family and a few of my hubbies friends. it was a nice group of about 30 people. I had organized the date/time venue menu /birthday cake . All I told my husband was that on the day we were going out for dinner for his birthday although I didn't want him to see where we were going, I got him into the car. Blindfolded him and held on to his hand and guided him while walking, when I got him inside the venue all the family gathered ready to greet him once i took the blindfold off him he got the biggest and most unexpected shock of his life. My husband could not believe how I could keep such a secret, because I am one who gets exciteded .

Here in South Australia, if you are the first person to report a faulty street light and they don't fix it within 10 days you can get a GSL payment of $25. GSL stands for Guaranteed Service Level. We don't seem to have too many problems with street lights around where I live.

I just opened the cupboard and there they were. After removing everything from that shelf (there is always one shelf that they seem drawn to) and getting rid of as many as I could, I clean the shelf, shut the door. 2 minutes later, open the door, and the ones I misses are gathering in a corner, l swear they are laughing at me! It wasn't until I started work at the age of 15 years that I made a good friend. I was bullied all through school. Then I found a great job where I met my best friend and the people I worked with were fantastic. Then my dad decided we should emigrate to Australia from the UK and I left my friends and my beautiful dog behind. Don't get me wrong I mostly love Australia apart from the Government, I have been married since 1979, four wonderful daughters, four grandchildren and a greyhound who is now my best friend, companion and confidante, she never gossips.

Its my mother that affected my life. She told me from very early on, she was disappointed the day I was born as I wasnt the 3rd son she had to have. She told me, I was fat, ugly, dumb, stupid would amount to nothing in life. She said, when Sue was born she was so ugly we threw away the baby and kept the afterbirth. She refused to name me, so after 2 weeks Dad named me. She said the only kind of man I will ever attract into my life will be blind and handicapped, so he wont see how ugly Iam and will be more intelligent than me. When it came out that I had been sexually abused and raped for years by my eldest brother, she went into overdrive to help, protect and support him, she did nothing for me.
My Dad died on a Tuesday, my mother sent my other brother around on the Friday to tell me, after the funeral. I found out through an Aunty, that my mother got all the people that she wanted to the hospital to see Dad and say their goodbyes, my son and I werent asked.
I miss my Dad and think of him every day, he was a weak man and my mother loved that, she treated him so badly. Dad was a good man.

An update to my earlier post! Recklessly (Or should that be "Wreck".....) I succumbed to DIY temptation again not long after writing it, after all what harm could another small bookcase do? Duly went online to find a matching one, only available in White now, that's OK, I have no colour bias, perfect harmony with the Black one..... Arrived on my doorstep this morning, great! Cold day, nothing like a bit of DIY on a cold winter's day to get the blood pumping, as long as I don't get any one the carpet. Lifted the box up...TRIED to lift the box up....it slowly dawned on me that this "Thing" was a whole heap bigger & heavier than the other one. Dragged it inside & propped it up against the dining table, where it remains. I'll get onto it tomorrow, maybe, after I've moved the furniture. It wont fit where I'd planned.
My biggest dilemma though is they sent me one worth $50 not the one I paid $20 for, what should I do?!!!!

Cryptocurrency, and owning your own crypto-wallet means you become your own bank. This is both a good thing and a bad thing.
While it is new technology, there are a lot of scammers looking to exploit those that are unfamiliar with it, and there are a lot of new 'cryptocurrencies' which can be used as "ponzi schemes"/Pump and Dumps"/"Rug pulls".

I save up all my change at the end of the week and it goes into a special bank account for my little volunteer school in a very poor Balinese Village for children whose parents cannot afford the Government school fees. I began it as a kindergarten and it has been going now for 8 years, helped by my fundraising and donations from friends. Whenever I go over to take books, clothing, soccer boots etc., my accumulated bank deposits help pay the school bills. It is run by my Balinese friends who take no money themselves so the children can get a basic education. It is amazing how change does make such a difference to children who have nothing, not even a toy of their own. Covid has meant I cannot get over there since January and my tiny school has closed, waiting until I can get back with what I have saved.

As an only child raised by my grandmother, I never felt the strong connection that others feel with brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles and parents. When we immigrated 3 years ago, I did not feel an ounce of worry or longing to go back to my country of birth. I've never felt homesick at all. Is this normal at all? I was born in UK. My parents chose a different religion to their familes, and most of both families turned against my parents. Because of that rift I grew up knowing who my grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins were, but not having a very close bond with them. In 1971 my father announced that we were emigrating to Australia. Before we left UK we were told that there was a house ready for us, and jobs for my father and myself. We arrived in "the land of sunshine" in June on a very wet, cold, windy day, there was also no house or jobs, so we had to live in the Pennington Hostel and look for work. That was the only time I felt homesick. As our circumstances improved we were glad we had come. In 2006 I made my first trip back to UK for a 7 week holiday, but then I was happy to return home to Australia, for me 'home' is where my immediate family are.

Today I received notification that my TXT messages are "end-to-end encryption". When I learn more, this mean that noone including Google and third parties can read those messages send it from my phone. So does it mean until today they could? Natural disasters where people lose everything overnight is horrible and so hard to comprehend. If you had one item (excluding people & pets) you could save from your house in a disaster, what would it be?

I lost everything in a flood twice during my lifetime, luckily i was able to save my pictures, but I lost all my good old time recipes, I miss those the most.

He should stick to rapping. The sad thing is, anyone thinks they can join politics now regardless of whether they have any former experience or training. Today s political world reminds me of the Adam Sandler film, Idiocracy.

What do you prefer for your pets? Store branded foods or food that have real ingredients that are healthily braised on each pet's needs?

My dog is on a special diet and can't change it as she has diabetes. I weigh her food and when she's about half way through, I have to give her an insulin injection.

A wise man said that you start out owning possessions but at some point, those possessions end up owning you....if you had to lose all your personal possessions...and just share everything...what would be the one personal object you would want to keep?

Knowing me, it would be something sentimental and totally useless to me! If I was being practical, I would keep my laptop or a telephone. Does this mean we are naked? If so, I'd keep my Eeyore Jammies! LOL
