This is one of my favourite dishes, it has a lot of ingredients but collecting them all is worth the effort. The chicken can be omitted or substituted if you are a vegetarian. It contains a small amount of chilli that does not overpower the dish. 1 kg cubed chicken 3 tbs butter 1 diced onion 1 tbs ground ginger garlic to own taste 1 tsp cumin 1 tsp garam masala 1 tsp ground coriander ½ teaspoon chili powder ½ teaspoon turmeric 1 cinnamon stick salt to own taste ¼...

An easy midweek Vegie meal or perfect for a side dish .. Method = Grab an eggplant or two or more! Slice them in half lengthways ( Visitors coming? Well keep the stem on them too for presentation !) Then season with salt and cracked pepper. Place face down into a non-stick baking tray which is drizzled with a good dose of olive oil . ( You can add some slices of fresh garlic to this if you like ) Put another drizzle over the tops of them and stick...

Maybe it's just me, but have you found that when you order some kit set furniture like bunk beds, or shelving units etc. You get MOST of what you need? And usually there are some missing bolts, or the joints don't quite line up etc, what has been your experience? Also, do you try to send it back, or just figure it out and make it work??

As a lactose free person, I believe I am being overcharged for my coffee/latte as now I am being asked for an additional amount ranging from 50 cents to $1 to cover the soy or almond milk. However the cost of soy or almond milk at the supermarket is only 10 cents a litre more than normal or skim milk. My lactose free coffee/latte only requires a small amount of soy/ almond milk. So why should it be acceptable in our coffee loving society today to rip off those who are unable...

The two biggest money makers in a cafe are coffee and the soup of the day...no-one seems to care that they both cost very little make...you wanting to use several different milks would make the Barrista's job much more difficult..in a really busy cafe it would be a nightmare....I would hate to be doing that job now....it was a breeze when I did it....I enjoyed it..nobody needed all this crap in 1980...(why is that?)

What has gone wrong with the young males of today. Another school embroiled in young men taking the faces/head photos of social media and doing an AI attachment of a nude body to them and posting so many on line. Where has their common decency gone. Lack of respect towards girls and women has become endemic in recent years. WHY......? Are parents, schools, older generations not teaching them? Are they just brats who think they are cute or funny? Have men...
APB
We have been able to do this with photos (without AI) for over 30 years...anybody who is skilled can do this in Photoshop...so what has changed recently?....little girls now spend hours photographing themselves.. pouting and vamping it up...with their new phones and post them all over the internet...and little boys have easy access to to these..and pornography....and also now have software that makes attaching heads to bodies so easy that every moron can do this to a reasonable level....what's changed?...technology...that's all...if you don't want your head attached to a naked body stop posting it everywhere... in multiple views. different lighting and angles.. online....easy to use.....you know it can happen...just wake up and pay attention....if they made the software illegal it would stop immediately...

So I have 34 pending surveys and the HIGHEST point survey rates is one of 275 points. Yes 27 cents. Ummmm. The difficulty in such a survey completion is to know where to safely invest such a large sum. But I notice the top one (A 275 points Orange Survey) shows it is just a total survey of 1 minute long survey to complete it as noted by Rewardia. UmmmI thought. I will do it but then it as usual the survey asks me endless questions...

Wow ,nothing so scary as that . The sleeping Arabs at Tehran airport with their turbans were a bit of a shock as an 11yr old from down under I would say ,, apart from that I was suprised in Fiji at having to say Bula ( hello) to everyone basically from the airport security ,cleaners ,police in their long skirts ... everyone! At first I was getting exhausted from it a bit . And they will eyeball you coming your way too so you don't miss the opportunity. No! Too much government control there. I don't trust any government, no matter where they are on the political spectrum, not to abuse power if they control everything. Throw a switch, and you can't buy groceries. Your BMI is too high so you cost the government too much in health care. No birthday cake for you! When another government hacks in, you are stuck. And let's not forget the Greek government a few years (5?) back. 10% off the top of people's accounts to help with the bail-out. No thanks, I'll want cash to pay for things when the network is down.

If you take a look back in history, carrying a few extra pounds was a sign of wealth because rich people were the only ones that could afford fattening food. Fast forward to 2020 and junk food is cheaper than healthy food and poor people are fatter than rich people. One would assume if we were to raise the price of junk food exponentially. Our health would improve. Thoughts?

Falling prey to a con artist can be a humiliating and often expensive exercise. Many cons end in costly court cases, even imprisonment, and that's just for the victims. Have you ever met anyone of such charismatic and complex character?

Trainers became fashionable in the late 1970s you had the cool looking shoe mounted on a bed of what looked a lot like silicone...and then a hard wearing sheet of sole with grip marks on the bottom...you bounced around, you walked on air, I could work 16-hour shifts in a kitchen on concrete floors and my feet were fine...these would always last at least a year...and a lot more........now they look "cooler"...more colours, more styles....most give you "firm" support or...

Hey I m a bit of an introvert and really didn t mind lockdown! Of course no one wants COVID but should we have an annual compulsory lockdown to reset ourselves for up to a week every year? If you want to lock yourself down for 3 days, then go ahead, knock yourself out! BUT don't force it upon those that don't want to participate. I used to assume when I saw a woman in gym wear/activewear, that she was off to the gym. Only to discover, it was a fashion trend. How did this happen? Is society on a downward slide? I prefer to dress elegantly but each to their own I guess.

How did it happen?.....it was a gradual process, starting in the 1970's when gay men started wearing trainers when they had no intention to do any training...that quickly spread to the whole population...then we had "girl power" which meant the only way to be equal to men was to wear your bra on the outside and wander around half naked...this has now filtered down to the general population...it can be a blessing or a curse depending on how much fat is crammed into very small quantities of a semi see through stretch material....each to their own....

My p.o.v, from the 12 year old me I'd say yes, it is important to go school and get good grades to get a good job for your future, but now? I wouldn't really know.. I've met people who say they finished school, had good grades and graduated all just to end up in McDonald's, apparently "grades" does not matter at all when it comes to a job? Thoughts?
ZoeC
School is not just about grades. School is about learning how to develop social skills, to negotiate, to converse, to organise your time, to learn about what is appropriate in different contexts ... the list goes on. These are all vital skills for the workforce. They may not help you get a job initially, but they will certainly help you keep it, and they improve your chances of progressing in work that you really enjoy.

The other day a woman told me that she feels insulted when a man opens a door for her. My jaw literally hit the floor. She believes men open doors because they think women are incapable. Can you believe it? Opening the door for someone is about having impeccable manners. I open the door for both men and women. The world has gone mad. But thank goodness chivalry isn't dead.
Hachi
It doesn't fall into the "sexist" category at all! A man opening a door for a woman is delightful (and kinda sexy!).

I may be wrong about this. But I think men believe if they pay for dinner, they are entitled to sex. So I usually offer to pay for both meals or go Dutch, to hold on to my power. Hi everyone! I live in a very remote town in Canada (way up north) We only have one bus for public transportation here. There are no taxis, Ubers etc. Literally one bus. 3 weeks ago the bus shut down-due to illness of a driver. The weather here is mostly -25, I have a disability and cannot walk to get groceries. The water is so bad here we have to buy it and I have not been able to get to the store to buy any. I'm mostly just ranting here, but am curious about...

I would start looking at a move. Not to the city but somewhere that has more access to shops and facilities. We all get older and need easier lifestyles. Closer to a city would be a bonus.

share your experiences with the nurses . they have lots of good down to earth tips. Run a day by day diary and give it to the oncologist at each regular consultation, you will get many and varied side effects. Some of these could influence a variation in the chemo. Don't try to eat big meals once your taste goes away. It does no harm to have a google look at what is out there.
I should have said I've been there. Lung and bowel cancer, and 6 months of chemo.

i watched a guy wrap up a nasty cut with duct tape, not sure what the hospital thought but it did stop the bleeding... Now with all the devices we have, long distance friendships are super easy to achieve and maintain, but not too much just a few years ago. You know, people used to write letters in a paper with a pen or a pencil, and send those to the nearest postal office, those were called letters. Do you ever had a long distant friendship when the phones, internet and pc didn't exist? It last long? How old were you? Do you still writing letter?
Bluey
I had a Japanese pen pal about 50 years ago but after an earthquake never heard from her again. I currently write to a friend in America who hasn't got a computer but haven't heard from him for some time so will be writing to him very soon. Hope he is still around. There has occasionally been a gap in our letter-writing so I'm not too worried about it.

I was married twice, and my second ex is still a very dear friend of mine. I don t love him as a partner obviously, this was the reason we split up, but I still appreciate him a lot as a friend. Note we live in 2 different continents and our only contact is FaceTime every 3 weeks. He is very well-read, and I enjoy discussing topics like arts, movies, and politics with him. Our conversations are very enriching on both sides. What about you guys?
BLM
Were we friends during our marriage to each other - NO! We are friends - NOW, but we are NOT married to each other - it took decades to get too this point - as we both accepted responsibility for the demise of our marriage! Fortunately - for both of us, when we were married to each other - we did not have a child!

And there is the lesson to learn from. Climate change is a natural process of our earth. Climate crisis is a manufactured illusion spread by unelected leaders of global organizations who do not have our best interests at heart. These people jump on individual jets to fly to conferences so they can find more ways of controlling what we can and can't do.

Qualification question today .. have you travelled by car to Mars in the past week ? Umm no,, Great! You have qualified for the survey .
Now baking and listening to some music whether it's a streaming service such as YouTube or the common radio ( transistor) can be quite therapeutic I find, however the survey probably went on to interview the lucky applicants who were successful on a completely unrelated topic such as bladder leakage !! My husband & I have always made it important to buy each other a card on special occasions. Birthdays, Anniversaries, Christmas, Mothers & Fathers Day etc. We are now retired, cards are expensive & money is tight. We have kept all our cards over the years & now have them in a container so that on each special occasion we find time to go through our passed cards & recycle one to each give the other. There are many beautiful, meaningful cards & it is so nice to read them...

It's a petty sad state of affairs when one has to start working at any age. Once 'work' is started in never ends (even in retirement.) We should try and let kids be kids as long as possible because like time itself, once it passes it never comes back.

Beware if you are 65 or more, don't bother with Coral Survey CO-9DASXS. I spent the day at the VA hospital (Veterans Health Administration) in Boston yesterday with a friend who was having surgery and couldn t believe how clean it was and how kind and friendly everyone was. I was very impressed with their patient board which kept track of the stages he was in our veterans should always be treated with dignity.
Bugalugs
The VA Hospital isn't in Australia it is Boston USA.
Successive Federal, State and Territory Governments in Australia have been deliberately starving Australia's entire Health System of fundes for decades. It doesn't matter if they are from the Right or Left of politics. The Federal Government only wants to sqwuander untold hundreds of billions on Armaments and other Military equipment to "Protect Australia from foreign invasion" - they never actually tells us whom it is who is threatening Australia. The totally absurd thing about all this squandering of all that money, yes I know it is minuscule compared to the US and China, is that all of this equipment will be completely obsolete before any of it actually becomes operational! These absurd governments - since when does a country with just 26 million people need ONe Federal, 6 State & 2 Territory Governments?
All are now hell-bent on squandering even more billions on Space Exploration! As if they haven't, along with all the rest of the World's Politicians, made a big enough mess of our World without doing the same to others.
Spend all that money on Housing, Health and Education and stop warmongering. It is our Politicians and Religious Leaders who have been, and still are, responsible for All the Wars which have ever been waged.
Decent, Honest, Ordinary people want no part of those wars, yet they are the ones who are sent out to fight and die for the wars the politcians have deliberately, and are at present trying to create.

So from my since being a student till now and in order to earn a few extra bucks on the side I have towed Advert signs behind my Vespa, Driven cars off the Car ship vessels once they have arrived into Port, helped doing Post Mortem Dissections and commercially skinned O'possums. What's your most unusual paid job from the past ??
Tom S Qld
At a younger age, while I was still finding my feet - a glass bender. Yep, that was the job title.
Worked nights in front of a very large and very hot rotating furnace kiln. We had long poles and we reached into the flames and placed flat sheets of glass onto the molded seats, they went around inside the kiln and then rotated back into view, perfectly melted, molded and shaped. We then took them out and placed them to cool off.
It was quite complicated as there were 25 sheets of glass inside at any time. The molding seats came out with the glass and new seats had to be placed in and then new glass sheets had to be put onto them.5-man crew all working in harmony. If one man missed his task, then it would all stop.
On a good night we would shape 2000 glass molded ceiling lights.

I recently started doing surveys on Rewardia again after stopping for at least 6 months in protest of their pathetic rewards for doing surveys. I have since discovered that you can be wise in choosing the surveys so you are compensated more fairly. I would only do surveys of certain colours because they are worth 1000 points each and it tells you the survey duration so if it says 30 minutes, I just ditched it - $1 for 30 minutes of work is not worth it. But if it says...

Fully agree with you - the thing that really bugs me is that sometimes you do a survey, complete all the the questions so that they have all your information then the site kicks you out and the survey says "closed by user" zero points awarded

I've noticed that more men think that a Platonic relationship between adult people (where one person is a gender that the other person is attracted to) involves an ulterior motive, while more women think that true friendships can exist without an ulterior motive. What are your thoughts?
Bugalugs
It's the New year and the Misandry Campaign is, once again, off and running.
We hear, endlessly, about how Horrible, how Distrustful, how Devious, how Abusive, how Misogynistic men are. They are no longer allowed to express an opinion, they must never, ever dare to say they don't like some female, their clothes, their botoxed faces, artificially pumped up lips - the list of what men must not do and how cruel, unfeeling and hurtful they are is endless and on-going
BUT we never, ever hear, or rather are never allowed to hear that Females can be every bit as bastardly as any male BUT challenge them and they will claim they are "Exercising THEIR Right to Freedom of Speech and Expression"!
No apologies but Christina C's statement is typical misandrist nonsense, men are no more, nor less, likely to have ulterior motives than any woman.

With all this Facebook, Ticktock, Rewardia chat etc people can write anything that can have profound effects on gullible minds. Construction of statements carefully manipulating fact and fiction, laced with emotive fear arousing baits. Is it free speech or free banter? Is freedom the right to do what we like/ what is freedom/ Does it come with a price?

I wonder just how many people here on this forum are aware that since October 2021 that the Australian government can hack, quite legally, your social media accounts and alter and delete them for any reason whatsoever? It's called the Identify and Disrupt Bill which was passed at 2am on a Wednesday late in that month. Go and look it up on the Australian government website if you don't believe me. I was told this by my son who happened to be working with some Barristers who were visited by a man called Arthur, whom our previous female Premier in NSW had been in a relationship with at that time, just so people don't think I'm writing this with the view to commit some kind of fraud! I cannot watch MSM any longer because my research outside of this alleged "media sources" has led me to scientific research and resulting evidence leaving no room for me to conclude anything other than the following: that what is "news" content, at least as it relates to the"magic potion" killing and maiming people across the planet, is simply propaganda and theatre. I did not draw this conclusion without facts empirically derived from Researchers, Doctors and Scientists of many varied disciplines and I KNOW that my own government has lied and continues to lie about their own involvement in this charade. This is backed up in previously confidential documents detailing the Australian Military's involvement from decades ago of weaponising biological organisms through gain of function research and funding the same. I can say with clarity that freedom has never been SO under threat as it is now, not only because the government can come in and change your own words and remove them as they see fit, but because of the terms "misinformation" and"disinformation", but WHO decides this? I can see Big Tech's involvement but who among you are aware of the infiltration of WEF members, of whom Big Tech plays a leading role, in terminology used to discredit certain viewpoints. Just as the CIA coined the term "conspiracy theorist" to describe someone who thinks outside of the mainstream narrative and make them out to be "kooks", so too have Google, You Tube Twitter etc, who are all partners in this globalist agenda for a NWO where there will be no choices, no ownership of anything including your shoes, and certainly no privacy or freedom! If we lose the right to voice our own opinions today they will be gone tomorrow and NEVER return! If we don't want to live in a smart grid with cameras recording our every movement as it already is in China and adopt their credit score system, we all need to think about what it will be like for our children and THEIR children if we don't now say that enough is enough! Thanks for reading this.

I've noticed an increasing number of surveys (not just here) now want you to either download an app so they can track your online usage eg shopping etc or tv/ online video habits or want you to use a webcam. These are usually offering higher levels of rewards. I refuse to do any of these, as I find them way too intrusive, but was wondering how others feel about such activities. Are you ok with that sort of tracking or do you find it not acceptable?
Julie K 348980
I too have noticed how many organisations are now asking me to turn on my webcam. I do not allow it especially as I was told by an IT specialist that even if you do not have it switched on you can still be seen by others. That scared the bejesus out of me.

And, feel free to add an environmental trait, if you don't know what you have inherited (i.e. are adopted). Like a habit picked up from those around you.

What are your thoughts about "value" we can find anywhere these days? You would think that paying more equals getting better, safer and healthier products of higher quality, but is it always the case?

No of course a Higher Price does not mean better value. Take a trip into one of those very up-market Department Stores and those dinky little Boutiques offering, supposedly Designer Gear, Exclusive Brands by Haute Couture Houses of Fashion. Grossly over Priced garments but ALL Made in China, India, Bangladesh and other slave-to super-low Income countries. We went in to one of those Department Stores, up the escalator and into the Women's Fashion Floor. There at the top of the escalator was a display of a well-know designer. Faded Jeans with selectively placed "Tears", Price? A not-so-cool $695.00! The top? It looked liked a woman's vest-cum-Tee shirt with a tiny single row of "lace" around the neckline. The price? An equally not-so-cool $435.00!
My female companion unbuttoned the top couple of buttons on her blouse to reveal an identical top with exactly the same single row of "lace". Price at the Local Market? $15.00. Our local Op Shop sells faded Levi Jeans with naturally worn, strategically sited holes - just like the Designer jeans at $695 for just $10! - I know this because they were my jeans! The only reason I was not still wearing them was because I don't think it is appropriate for Mature Age Men and Women to dress as if they were in their late teens! Brand, Price and Designer Labels mean Nothing.

My favourite childhood memories are playing outside with friends. I remember we used to play cricket on the street and as long as we were home by dinner my parents would be happy, Unfortunately these days children are more likely to be inside on their tech devices instead enjoying time outside. What is your favourite childhood memory?

Playing hopscotch on the pavement outside our house, and rambling through the bush at our holiday shack. Finding unseen caverns and playing in them.
