When you finish a relationship, need some time to get use to be yourself again, because you have being with someone during a while. But which is the best moment to start dating again? Maybe you are not looking a relationship, maybe you are just looking for a distraction, or maybe you want to found the love again but you kind of feel guilty to try it again because everybody is telling you that it's too soon to start something. But what If you already have overcome it?

Each person has their own time table. Me, I dated a few guys but after a few I decided it was no longer for me. I have not dated now in over 25 years and happy about it. Some people though like the twosomes. Never listen to other people. If you make a mistake then you own it.

It has happened to me, not once, but twice. The first time I legally fought them, got my job back, but felt the tension with the co-workers and managers. Although I did not do anything wrong to be forced out, when I returned, I couldn't take the stress and tension, so I resigned. What would you do if you were pushed out from your job by someone in authority over you?

I was retrenched after 40 years service. They sent the work to another state but I was not offered a transfer at all although they were already short staffed over there.

So I just witnessed my neighbour across the road reverse (slowly) down his drive. And a cyclist was racing down the footpath. They collided with each other. Everyone is okay and was civil. (Bike completely damaged) But what do you think about cyclists on the footpath? I believe they should stick to the road for many reasons
Sammi
I'm in my 70's and when l rode my bike in my youth we were not allowed to ride on the foot path. It was against the law. So why are they ride on foot paths now. They are called FOOT PATHS.

There are laws that state that something "on sale"...HAS to have been originally sold at a higher price...but there don't seem to be any rules on what "a limited time" is...are there?...and I see a few stores having these sales for several years at a time....shouldn't they be stopped from doing this?...or is it just buyer beware?...or a "bit of fun"....what do you think?
PAPARAY
When I worked at a supermarket they would have a 10 items for 10 dollars sale. That would be 1 dollar for each item. But here is the thing, some items were 89 cent at the regular price. we employees would tell certain customers this and they would tell others.

It may be something complicated or something you dismiss because you find it just so easy to do, but it may not be for many others around you. What is that one thing you do that is just so easy... for you?

I have a fairly large CD collection, maybe 200 to 250...just all the very best music I have ever heard in my life....most of it from the late 1960s to the 1990s haven't played most of it for over 15 years...(and I listen to some current music and think that is total rubbish and... who would listen to it?)...WELL I have just started to really listen to ALL my music again...being honest...nearly half of it is rubbish too!....let's be fair...a lot of the...

Going on my first camping trip. What are the essentials to take with you on a camping trip?
Sandra C 12043
Lots of the things already mentioned but 1. a map of where you are going . 2. Leave a detailed list of where you are are heading with someone you trust, how long for and the date you should be back, so they can notify the authorities if you don't return on time. Safety should be the foremost thing on your mind, especially if you are going alone.

In store, salesmen insist on explaining all the different settings of the latest machine. Mostly people don't use more than three anyway, but the one setting that's not there, and is necessary on any washing machine, a tissue detector. Paper tissues ruin so many washes, yet there is not one machine that can sense it and has a warning. If we can put a man on the moon, why can't someone design a washing machine that warns there's a tissue in the washing?

Life happens, and we may have drifted apart over time, but occasionally, something may remind us of them, and we'll briefly wonder how they are. If you've lost touch with a friend, you're not alone. According to recent studies, people often lose touch with others after age 25. What are your thoughts? Is it OK to lose touch with friends?

I have had friends for 40 years I have had them for 10 minutes most of my friends drift in and out for all kinds of reasons, just say true to yourself and be there when you can and hopefully, your friends will do the same main thing is talk keep on talking, not texting or messaging messages are so easy to get miss construed and it would be a shame if friends drift over a miss understanding

I have found many drivers in my opinion 9/10 sit right on top of me as specially when stopped at traffic lights on a hill position. So many times because they are literally on top of me when going to go my car (manual) has slightly rolled a couple of inches has hit the car behind me causing chip damage to my car. Electric cars sales are currently plummeting Worldwide and car giants are panicking...powered by... in the most part...fossil fuels...limited lifespans with expensive replacement parts and unsustainable batteries and oh yes....sometimes...just sometimes...they explode into flames. I once read an article where some historian said he thought people were at their happiest during George Washington's time period, and I asked my uncle what he thought about that. He said he was sure a lot of people back then were happy, but probably just as many were unhappy, then said just like today there are happy people but just as many unhappy ones. It all depends on your outlook, circumstances (I doubt anyone with a lot of health problems or who lost more than their share of loved ones can be happy) and ability to have hope, no matter what time period you live in.
That being said, I have to add that modern times have gotten flawed by too many decades of a ME First attitude. When people always put themselves first, they turn the positive "selfs" (self-confidence, self-assurance, self-esteem) into negative ones (self-centeredness, self-involvement, selfishness) and I think that has a lot to do with things that have gone wrong in society today.
And now that "myself" has gotten a bit carried away, I'll wish everyone a "HAPPY HOLIDAY", and now I'll shut up!

Electric scooters...who would have imagined this breakthrough 20 years ago!...now obese children who would have had to experience exercise on a bike or scooter, along with obese adults who probably wouldn't be anything at all...can now silently zoom around on the pavements...at speeds of up to 40 km per hour...maiming themselves and helpless pedestrians who get in their way...and they will be able to do this until enough people have killed...serious injury is not...

What is our destiny? I have often wondered this, and I have to say it is very hard to come up with an answer. We can search for a lifetime without ever having a clue, so we just drift along, either working until the end or doing other odd jobs to see if something clicks. I have to say I wonder if there is a better way that I haven t discovered at this time, but if anyone should have an answer to this, I would definitely like to know.
BLM
No answers, just my core belief system at work, hopeful; providing insight. DESTINY is what you are meant to do. It is your soul's dream for you. While FATE happens when you don't take responsibility for your life. DESTINY is what happens when you commit to growing, learning, and taking chances. DESTINY is not absolutely predetermined, but more like a beautiful, perfect, deeply meaningful plan (that is tailored to suit you - and only you). It is the force (Destiny) that some people think controls what happens in the future (your future), and which cannot be influenced by people (or the public).

These days, it seems that kids are "dating" or "going together", before they even know what responsibilities come along with relationships of that sort. How old were you when you remember the"love bug" biting you? When you were past teasing the opposite sex because you liked them, but actually wanted to sit together on the bus and tell each other things that were never on your radar screen before? You actually liked someone and demonstrated it in a mature fashion. For me,...

In the month of June I put Mr Percy a peach face, in my garage, on a cupboard near the brick wall to keep him safe. I gave him plenty of water and sunflower seeds. Then we left to Melbourne for a couple of nights. When we came back the cage was empty. The cage had not been opened and there was no feathers or a trace of my little bird. What do you think happened to him?

If someone with a lot of education (law school grad, for example) decided they'd be happier doing something that even didn't require college, like a plumber, bartender, opening a coffee shop or grocery store, whatever, Is that an okay decision to make or a waste of an education?
Smiley
I truly "LOVE" how people see jobs in trades (plumber, chippie, sparkie, gardener, etc) or retail as a lower rated job, like the people who work those jobs are a lesser person to someone who has completed many years of uni or has a high degree.
If it wasn't for cleaners, retail staff, check out operators, tradies and the like, how would you be able to do your shopping or even live? You would not have a house to live in- lots of tradies helped to build the vast majority of homes we all live in, without retail staff there'd be no shops operating, without cleaning staff many businesses would be piled high in filth.
I know of people who have doctorates, people who are A/Prof's who are cleaners or are doing labouring jobs or retail work as they simply cannot get work in their field, or maybe their job got too stressful, so they chose to do something completely different. These people also do a lot of volunteer work in roles some other "well educated" would not dream of doing.
I think it comes down to how you are raised. If you grew up with a silver spoon in your mouth and your parents taught you to look down on those with "lesser jobs", then sadly i think it will be very hard to change how one sees and treats other people and you may struggle with life if you're thrown a curve ball.
If you're raised to treat the cleaners, retail workers and garbage truck driver with respect and talk to them as a fellow equal human being, than i think you're a well rounded person who will do fine in life and be able to handle whatever the world throws their way.
And just as a FYI- Plumbers and tradies do up to 4years study/on the job training.
Bartenders and coffee shop workers also do a lot of training courses and need to get accreditation for some of their roles.
Same with grocery store workers. Yes, it's a job where you can start with no experience, but after doing the job for a while, you will realise you deal with many different things- abusive and/or rude customers, customers who they tell their deepest secrets to, you will sometimes be the ONLY person an individual (customer) interacts with, you will form friendships with customers, you will learn a lot about how a business is run.
If you study for a decade and are still miserable, was it all worth it?
If you start an entry level job and thoroughly enjoy it, do you consider this to be a waste of your education or the fact you have had an amazing opportunity open up for you?

Your son, daughter, grand child....has finally passed their licence. They don't have a lot of money, but would like a reliable one. They ask your advice. So what car would you recommend? Manual? Auto? Hybrid? Safety rating? Brand? Yes, a broad subject, but from experience or knowledge what would you choose for them? Public transport or walking is out of the question as they have to travel. Thanks.
Bugalugs
Toyota or Mazda but, but as Roslyn A says, hybrid or EV would be great but at present too expensive even for a used one. Manual or Automatic. I know this may sound a bit sexist but I think most young men would prefer a Manual as they are more fun to drive!

On average how much do you earn each day doing surveys on Rewardia ? How much time do you spend each day doing surveys on Rewardia to earn that measly amount? Edward S when you click on Submit and get those oh-so-annoying " Sorry Survey Closed" messages click on your Points (top left-hand of screen) and you will very often find that though you got that msge you have, in fact, been given the points. I agree with you that this seems to happen every time you take part in one of those impossibly long surveys. We can't seem to do the right thing can we? We are told Never to Rush, Always take our time, give honest and thought out answers and when we do as told we get punished for doing so. Maybe Rewardia and those they run the survey for should sit down and have a chat about allowing us time to complete their surveys.

You are taking a walk in the park when you notice a person stumbling, do you assume they are intoxicated or do you ask if they are okay? This situation happened as I was at work and noticed a man stumbling on the lawn. Another worker also saw him and went to check on him and realized he was a coworker who was diabetic and needed assistance. What would you do?
Sandra C 12043
Of course, wouldn't anyone do that ?? Why would you even need to think about it ?? Just imagine yourself in that situation. How would you feel if people ignored you thinking yiou were drunk?? Thank heavens 2 cars stopped recently when my husband had a fall on the footpath, it was darkish, but they stopped and helped him up. He was only a few steps from home, so he was fine. I can't believe that you would have to stop and think before acting,.

While some look to get cosmetic surgery to change their appearance, others are learning to love and accept their physique and be body positive . But not everyone thinks the positivity movement is healthy or realistic. What are your thoughts?
Evie
A bit of surgery is one thing, but don't change who you are. Additionally, I get not everyone is a size 2, but the obesity that's being accepted in the name of "positivity" is unhealthy and leads to additional health problems.

Once we collected and signed for our pay packets at a pay office. Now we have given, the control to banks that are closing, and for those whom don t trust ATMs and computers, how are they going to survive and how are they going to be able to pay their bills. Out of control Banks, with our money? Does anyone in your family struggle to with this?
Pearlz
You have no-one to blame but yourselves. You vote with your feet and if you don't like what you are offered then take your business elsewhere. The banks introduced ATMs' and you queued to use them not giving a wit about the teller whose job it replaced. You were offered internet banking and you were in a hurry to sign up for it, once again replacing people. Then it was the banking app and use your mobile all the while doing people out of a job. Branches closed and ATM's were removed, do you now why? Most ATM's are owned by people who buy them as an investment, they cost money to own because the Reserve Bank charges people for the money they put into ATM's so when you paid at Woollies or Coles with your phone and took out cash the costs of keeping ATM's was more than the earnings so they were removed. Don't complain, don't whinge because you brought this upon yourself. I don't have a smartphone, I don't trust them, especially with my personal banking. Apps aren't as secure as websites, not your side but the other end and people you interact with. I still use the website but my bank is trying to close it and push me off onto an app of course because it's cheaper, but I'm not going without a loud noise. Not everyone wants to bank online, some people forget how to do things online as they age, some people aren't as capable as others to go online or on an app so Banks should be somewhat responsible for pushing everyone online where they get ripped off or scammed. It's too late now the horse has bolted, you chose a machine and technology over a person. I'll use technology when it's a benefit but I MUCH prefer to deal with a real live person, I queue at the checkout to keep the checkout person employed and I like to shop in stores to keep the sales people employed. Any business that tries to push me into having a smartphone I ditch because I don't want one or the apps they insist I need. Every action has consequences and not using people results in no people being required. Think about that the next time you use serf service.

How do you deal with increasing cost of living? Groceries, gas, travel, utilities etc are all going up with no increase in pay.

Well, I am a 51-year-old female with terrible decision-making skills. (Had mental breakdown July 2019.) It has gotten to the point that I'm almost scared to decide anything. What I want is to have my boyfriend take over my decision-making so I avoid bad decisions. He isn't okay with it for his love for me gets in the way. How can I get him to understand that this is for the best?
Sandra C 12043
You need to seek professional help. Asking your boyfriend to make your decisions is putting too much stress on him and you may lose him. Get help from a professional and keep your relationship on a loving basis.

I think everyone's heard the saying, "Once a cheater, always a cheater", but is that really the case? Could someone be genuinely sorry and really mean it and be given another chance by their significant other, or would that significant other be making a mistake to believe them and should kick them to the curb?
NM7
Most people who cheat are narcissists that think they will never be caught. When found out they first go on the offensive and say it's all in your mind, then when given incontrovertible proof they blame you for your inadequacies or say it was a mistake and they'll never do it again, which is a lie. They just think next time they'll be more careful. I was married for 50 years and he cheated for most of that time. I never told anyone and had no support, until my daughter picked up the other line at home and caught him talking to his bit on the side. She supported me and gave me the strength to dump his a$$. He was a bully and treated me like his maid not an equal. I should have told someone sooner.

Should Public Transport Be Free? Well I think yes in urgent and/or important situations because they are very major, and we need to get there, that way, we need transport. Transport is never free. So we need to pay money even for urgent and important situations, that's unreasonable. And sometimes public transport shouldn't be free because it is good for our economy, and it grows our economy. Public Transport workers also need to earn money. In my opinion, public...

WHAT . Maybe AnynomousUser1234 needs to get a better translator or stop drinking the funny juice??? Maybe people need to get better organised. public transport is not expensive and if you are in dire financial hardship there are plenty of places to get a travel voucher.

The lower the points the less I do. I still wonder who does the average less than 250 point ($0.25 cents !) per survey ???. Reading below it seems all of you. No doubt they will going down again shortly and be an average of 100 points (10 cents !) per survey soon and no doubt you will all keep doing them. Ummmmmm.

At my workplace, I have noticed a change in how staff culture has changed around sickness and taking time off work to recover, has anyone else? Before the days of Covid, staff would come into work with colds and coughs and "battle on" to get the work done. Now I find the staff where I work are more likely to take sick leave for colds and practice more self-care despite ever-increasing workloads. Has staff culture changed in your workplace?
Lynn
No, it has always been that way where I work. The doctor insisted. It has made no difference the Covid. I only work 1 day a week now as am retired. However, the doctor has always said if you are sick stay home as it is not fair on the patients....or him.

Australia and the UK share to a certain extent that the local pubs and bars are HUBS, where people get together and socialise. The increasing massive taxes on beer in both countries...and possibly elsewhere too along with covid have resulted in a massive shut-down of pubs. People cannot afford to drink...owners cannot afford to stay open...and aside from other issues...this is going to radically change our society and how we live what do you think?
Gardenia
There is more to life in communities than just drinking. There might be less domestic violence for instance. there are hundreds of different ways to socialize than getting together for a drink. Some communities are being destroyed by excess drinking. Aboriginal women are being killed more often as a result. Publicans have exploited customers for far too long. It is time to enjoy each other's company without the effects of liquor.

What addictions do you have? Do you think it is a good addiction or a bad one? What do you do to stop this addiction? My personal addiction is tea. I drink about 15-20 cups of black tea a day. I love it and nobody ever told me that it is bad for me, so I don't think it's a bad addiction.

Never think that everyone around you thinks the same way that you do...almost none of them do...and don't make any assumptions or plans based on that idea...people are seriously much more weird than you can possibly imagine

no, money comes later, teach them first, to help to do chores at home, so they learn the value of helping each other, helping others.. Yes earning money is good, but money is not everything. Love and education starts at home

I recently started study in NZ University. I am almost 33 years old. Furthermore, I believe education is an important part of our lives. And I feel good about it. I got very diverse feedback from others. Would you go back to school to educate yourself after 30s, 40s or even older? You have money and time for it - Would you go?
Morenita
Of course I would! After having both my daughters I decided to go back to school and so glad I did! They are now 26 and 17yrs old and I’m working in the field I went to school in. Your never too old!

I know it's a kind of cliche - The good old days! A time when we were growing up, without too much of the advanced technology that we have to day. Before ... computers, mobiles, Siri, spy cameras just about everywhere. Carefree days, holidays, great music, fun and laughter. Where has it all gone? Well before Covid showed ... it's ugly head. What were those OLD DAYS, like for some of you?
Martin D
No computers, TV wasn't on all day, no videos or DVD's. We went outside to play & Mum didn't see us all day.
Feb 09, 22

There is an old cliche: the young ones these days have no respect for elders. I am talking about manners, about their attitudes towards other grown ups. I was once in high school myself and back then I thought I was in a critical stage of my life when I was doing my HSC! It was like my whole future depends on this certificate! Twenty odd years plus rolled on now I am a fully mature person who has earned my respect done the yard so to speak. I cannot tolerate those...
Sheree T Princess
I believe everything needs to go back to basics. Start with respect and manners and that starts in the home. These days a lot of children are basically raised by day care centers. If you want to have children stay home for a few years with them and give your children a good start in life.

I've been in an exclusive relationship on line for just over three years. We have never met in person, but have formed a very deep, personal life the best we can through Zoom, etc. What are your personal thoughts on how to keep the relationship alive and exciting?
Grommie
All the world's a stage, and all the men and women merely players. They have their exits and their entrances. beware the conversations centred around health, relatives in trouble, money.

This year has been ups and down for most of us may it be personally or professionally. Please share what you are most excited in the coming 2022? Are you looking forward on a more stabilising year? What's your vision and new life mission? Thanks

I have Three Wishes and Two of them are achievable.
One: Getting rid of the Scandal-plagued Morrison Federal Government - The Sports rorts, The Car Park rorts, The Extra-marital affairs (Adultery) by both Women and Men, the endless Lies, the subservience to the USA and US-inspired Confrontation towards China. To rid ourselves of the most Divisive, most Dishonest, Racist Government we will need to elect large numbers of Independents to control both Houses. That way they can force whichever minority government - be it Coalition or ALP is irrelevant for they are both as bad as each other.
Two: To rid ourselves of the current Inept, Dishonest State Liberal Government of South Australia and, as with Canberra, elect large numbers of Independents to control both Houses of the SA Parliament and force the minority government - be it ALP or Liberal is irrelevant because one is as bad as the other - to act in the Interests of All SA citizens and not just their mates.
Three: To declare Australia Neutral - we can, and should, be friends with all, as we used to be until the Morrison Federal Government handed Australia over to the USA and then exacerbated the solvable problems with China by joining in with the USA's Policy of Confrontation.

Should we as parents be allowed to discipline our child without being told we are abusing our children? For example: if my child swears or does something really naughty, should I be allowed to smack his hand without it being abuse? Or is disciplining our children with a smack on the hand abusive now? Just curious to see what other parents and people think? I do timeout for my kids and a sticker chart but sometimes i think it doesn't help at all.
Sammi
There is a difference between abuse and discipline. l was a whipped, now that's abuse. A smack is a smack and quite often you will only smack them once or twice and never again.

Bugalugs
Old School? It is where your Teachers were only required to actually Teach you to Read, Write and do Arithmetic! They were NOT, as they are today by Lazy Parents, expected to actually bring up the children as well. Old School was when Parents taught their children Manners, how to behave but at the same time to ask endless questions which the parents should answer truthfully - no matter how awkward! To show respect towards others until that person shows they deserve none.
Old School was when Parents made sure their children were fed before going to school and at least one of them was at home when their child/children got home from school. Where Parents - no matter their Race, Ethnicity, Religion - ensured their children actually went to school.
Old School is a combination of what Parents, Children and Teachers should do. Today far too many Parents think the Teachers should do it all.

I'm not talking love affairs, but do you have an interest, hobby, work area or cause that you are/ were truly passionate about? It used to be a saying that if you find something you love to do, you will never work a day in your life. I've always thought this would be great, but never really found anything. I've worked in areas I have had a vague interest, but it's always been more for survival than passion. Have you ? What was / is it?
J
I sure do. I love bonsais. I had several but had to get rid of them when we moved from WA to VIC. I will start again someday when we are settled in one place. I also love crocheting. I have quite a collection that I will sell when we can have some sort of market stall. Hopefully things will get back to normal so that it can happen.

Do you have much faith in Orthodox Medicines? Many people suffer from the negative affects of prescription drugs. Every individual is different as to how their bodies cope with drugs. It's alarming to think that a certain percentage of the population experience side affects - that bad ... that they end up in hospital due to medications. Drugs can have a toxic affect on your body. What is your opinion?

What is you're opinion on today's banking system? Do you trust them? Do you think they put their shareholders first ... before customers? Notice how low the interest is on money in you're bank account! Credit card - interest too high. Banking CEO,s paid to much. How can the ordinary person win?
Grommie
my opinion, backed by English as it is written, Zing, is you have not shown a plural by putting in an apostrophe.
as for Banks., Banking CEOs' emoluments... it's what the market says it needs.
Credit card interest rates reflect the risk. Those risks now are greater with computer generated rippings-off.
oh and it's your not you're... you're means you are. and too not to re CEOs.
Banks are heading for the cashless society. It started with EFT-POS in NZ in September 1984, for those who remember, or in my case were involved.
Criminals have already spotted that cash won't be king, it's time the honest citizens spotted it, too.
Never waste a good crisis. Banks used Covid-19 as the excuse to close branches.

As a former teacher I get very concerned when I hear so many demands for things to be taught in school which I believe should be the role of parents. In the meantime parents complain about falling standards in basic reading, spelling, writing and mathematics. What makes a parent think a young 20 something unmarried, childless teacher is better equipped than the parent to teach things like diet and nutrition, gardening, morals, sexuality, driving, swimming, camping, etc. What do...
Rod R 101788
Teachers educate kids, parents raise kids. There is some crossover but both have their roles in creating decent humans. Kids learn from each other as well.

can carnivores change their diet - no?! - can herbivores change their diet no?! - can omnivores (humans) change their diet - no?! - humans are eating the planet up - in front of all are eyes (global warming) - humans can not agree on a plan to stop the carnage. How much time do you think humans have left on this planet - since we are all omnivores (and that is not going to change)?!
Stephan S
The main cause of all our problems is overpopulation. There are only so many recources on this planet. There is only so much drinkable water and land to grow food. And no matter what enviromental policies you put in place, more people cause more pollution..The only way out of it is srict worldwide birth control.Maximum 2 children per family

Technology for all its benefits is a great thing. But how many times have you seen glued to their screens, constantly? A lot of this is because of Facebook, that keeps everybody connected, whatever we're doing, while in the background quietly gathering our data and making millions of dollars in advertising. And of course partnering very nicely with Google.. These devices are great, sure. But look at what we are giving up, just to be interconnected!!
Sandra C 12043
I have a mobile phone but rarely use it.It's therre for emergencies. Just go out to a nice restaurant and see the people texting someone on the other side of the table. Think it's the height of ignorance to use phone at the table when dining out unless you work for an emergency service. Drs, nurses, ambulance or police etc.

As humans we think if we attain something like an award, it will equate to making us happy but sadly this isn't the case. Have you ever won an award? Were you disappointed by how short-lived the joy was?
Sand
It depends on the award and how hard you worked for it. I was awarded the Howarth and Howath Prize (correct spelling) for Financial Management 3B. I had not studied economics or accounting in school and so picked it up at uni as a mature aged student. My closest challenger was a lad who was working for his dad's accounting business and was an entitled turd. I was working in the fishing industry at the time. We both went into the exam with a score of 96% and I scored 99% on my exam. I still smile at this because the students had no idea who I was and had their noses out of joint that their silver spoon boy didn't win. One for the working class!

I have noticed that the price of fresh fruit this summer is very expensive, a time of the year, when there's plenty of fruit, it should be a lot cheaper than this, I feel the supermarkets are really ripping us off. What would you say?
John 1362447
For those of you shopping in Australia electricity cost has risen by 40% over the last two years because the Government is hell bent on going to renewable power generation and on last nights news they said it will go up at least 24% IN THE COMING YEAR. This drive to renewables is going to cost a fortune and it feeds through all levels of production. In Qld they just built a battery storage to capture home Solar generated power that would otherwise go to waste, it cost $200million and if called on in a blackout it will last from 2 - 4 hours and if not called on then if the batteries are charged then the power will still go to waste.
So maybe the Supermarkets are ripping us off but price increases are being fueled by this mad rush to renewables when there are much cheaper sources of power that don't only work when the sun shines or the wind blows. I'd like to mention that the two major Supermarkets are US owned, maybe we should think about getting them back into Australian hands. Your Superannuation, $4.5trillion is mostly invested in overseas countries, have you seen the movement in the $A v $US in the last week or so, almost a 4% improvement, that equates to a 4% loss in those funds?? could do much better here if we put our mind to it.

My favourite Christmas memory is the family Christmas Party. All my mother's family would get together the first Saturday of December. We would have a BBQ cooked by my uncle and pudding made by my nanna, Whoever found the penny got a prize. We would sit by the tree and my uncles would hand out the presents.

every year its different but this year my little grandson Nova, and he lost a tooth yesterday because it was Christmas the tooth fairy left 20 dollars ,i was in good spirits but anyways after the unwrapping session this morning ,he asked what did Santa bring me, I told him I had been naughty and Santa didn't come, he put on a frown and went into his room to look at his prezzies i thought ,but he came back with his tooth fairy money so i could have a present, I was so impressed and proud i went down to the servo to get him some ROBLOX credit cost me 15 i gave that to him then he said i could spend 10 dollars of that 20 and give him 10 back so he doesn't upset the tooth fairy, so now i owe him 10

An inability to say "no" can contribute to being broke by leading to overspending on things you don't need or want, taking on too much work, and prioritizing others' needs over your own financial goals. This often stems from a fear of disappointing others, guilt, or a desire to please, and it directly impacts your finances when you say "yes" to impulse purchases, expensive social events, or favours that drain your resources. What would you say?
NotFriedLikeMost
People are broke because they do not live within their means. They've become addicted to NOW NOW NOW and with technology this allows for impulses to be capitalized upon...over and over again. People are slaves to debt and work....thus...slaves to over-consumerism because they say they "deserve" things. Which is insane.

Getting along with anyone is 'Mind over Matter' if you think about it. We could ALL get along Anywhere and Everywhere on the earth if people would just make up their mind to do so. How do you think Jehovah's Witnesses get along so well? We're all imperfect people. The difference is we follow Jesus' example while on earth, and follow the examples given in the Bible, overlook small hurtful things that happen, talk to the person about large hurtful things, and forgive them all! Is it easy? NO! But it's required to live or work happily with family, friends or acquaintances, and it's required by our God, Jehovah! ;-D

Do you think everyone should get a second chance? Why or why not? Are there situations where forgiveness and redemption should be encouraged, or do some actions go beyond the possibility of a second chance?
BLM
Strictly depends on the situation and whether you are a firm believer in giving individual(s) 'second chances'! In family matters - NO! In personal relationships - depending on 'how much' trust between the two of you was violated - MAYBE. In the political world or criminal world - NEVER! In trivial matters (of no importance) - YES! We drink it. We bath in it. We wash our clothes with it! The UNITED NATIONS says, by 2050, around 5 Billion people could face water shortages. Everyday in rich countries like Australia, we take water too much for granted. In times of drought we probably appreciate water more, when there is less rain. How do you think your nation would cope if you had to drastically cut back on water consumption?
Bugalugs
It is easy to not use water if you just think a bit. Yes, the makers of automatic dishwashers try to convince you that they use less water than Hand washing but then they would wouldn't they? They are trying to sell them. Do you really need to Pre-Rinse dishes before putting them into that Water and Energy sapping machine? Do you Really need to have your dishes sterilised? Do you really need to have them heated to boiling point to dry them? The answer is: NO. We wash our dishes ONCE a day, by hand and we use, at most 8 litres of water and enough Energy to have the Water at about 45C.

Does the world have a wellbeing problem - YES - in 'real time' known as - economic and social inequalities, public health emergencies, wars, climate crisis, etc. FYI: In the country I reside - USA - we are exposed to too much to DONALD JOHN TRUMP on television and on online - just hearing his names on the news on an ongoing daily basis creates negative emotions at historical high levels in the USA.

Well that can happen when the person is alive too. My Mum doesn't remember what she had for dinner the night before but remembers growing up during the war and being bombed out twice. Her short term memory is like non existent but she can still play a mean game of scrabble. Some times we don't listen to the important things because life gets busy or it not quite the right time, don't dwell on that. Mistakes happen and we have to get on with life but make sure you allow your self to grieve too. Go through his photos and remember him lovingly. After all he was your Dad. Don't hate a day because of the commercialism where it's all about spending money, Father's Day can mean so much more if you just put in a little imagination. Go for a picnic or have a nice lunch, go for a walk and reminisce the Dad you had. Sorry for your loss and he lived a long time and I am sure he had a great life. You are apart of his legacy. Remember him fondly in the things that make you unique.

Check the label! Here in Canada, the law says that the manufacturer must declare how flammable a garment is. Look for the fire code on the garment. I don't know where you are "hearing" all these complaints but they are quite probably bogus. What does a jacket have to do with someone going missing? If they had a different kind of jacket they would never, ever disappear? And "The Human Torch"? What was that person doing so carelessly around a fire in the first place?
These examples sound like a conspiracy theory because some misguided 'influencer' doesn't like the style of jacket.

I have a shiny top that I have had for 10 years, so I am going to cut it up and make a few headbands for myself. Anyone else done the same?
sunflower
always recycle, reuse, pass to someone else. i do it with clothes, shoes and other things. while my recycling is not 100% i certainly try my best. i also use other, water system for bathroom, use recyclable kitchen towels in addition to my paper towels, to reduce my use of paper. i only buy clothes i know i need, use clothes i have until they need to be recycled. i donate ones that are still in good condition to people who may need them and cannot afford them, same with shoes. i do my best not to just throw things away. i am working towards minimalistic use of things in general but to be honest i find it challenging still.

For me, that would have been watching too many violent TV shows. What about you? What did your parents allow you to do as a kid that you now realise was not age-appropriate?
Buttonpops
Sent my siblings and I out for the day with no supervision. We would go to the pool or ride bikes to the other end of town, play in creeks, disused tunnels, climb a tree and stay there for hours. All sorts of crazy things.

What would the Earth be like if humans had never existed? This has been the basic question of the study of the University of Aarhus, in which it has been resolved that the world of mammals would be very different. So much so that we could find rhinoceroses or elephants in Europe, for example. What do you think, would the world be better off without humans?
writerrochelle
Humans aren't the problem. Inherited sin through our original parents because of disobedience, listening to Satan, the Devil, is the problem, and from the beginning God has told us in the Bible what that caused, what will fix the problem, but not exactly when. Only God knows when it will happen. Read Matthew chapter 24. We know from the signs of the end recorded in the Bible that we are living in the last days. Soon the Great Tribulation will occur, then Armageddon, them a Paradise Earth, as God purposed it to be! I'm waiting as patiently as I can, without any doubt! Read Isaiah 45:18 in the Bible. I'm just a messenger. You can agree to disagree, or you can read the scriptures I've suggested to find the Truth! ;-D

In the freezer aisle at your local supermarket, is a bright, attractive box that contains fish in batter. The picture on the outside shows a steaming, beautiful chunk or slab of fish coated in a fine golden batter. Inside is a sad little fish fillet sandwiched between two slabs of batter/breadcrumbs...the "coating" makes up at least HALF of the contents. Then you choose a pack of meat pies... mmmm ... the picture shows big chunks of beef the pies inside are filled with cheap...
Liane H
Wow that's the best looking boxed frozen fish fillet I think I have ever seen! And I don't even like it. Companies would be floundering in the water without the strange powers of advertising.... The money or the box? .. hmmm

My dog died from cancer & find it hard to work all day now. Would you feel the same way too?
Mooi
People grieve in different ways for their animal companions. If you feel you can’t work then yes take the day off. If you can’t take sick day or take the day out of annual leave. Take leave without pay.

Some key advantages of social media are connectivity, real-time communication, and accessibility of information. However, some disadvantages include potential addiction, privacy concerns, and the spread of misinformation. What do you reckon? What are some of the main advantages and disadvantages of social media?
Michelle S 553303
Advantages are minimal in comparison to the disadvantages and we are seeing more of those occurring in the younger generation who have really only lived a digital existence. Social media has become the mum, dad, nanny and companion to many children who are unable to live without their smart phones and without their online "friends". But the Big Tech companies knew what they were doing when they developed these platforms and now you have SM like Tik Tok which is targeted at the below 18 years population and owned by a company run by the CCP, which fills me with confidence that they have our best interests at heart, and the algorithms are not just causing terrible addiction in this age group but the kids don't know that their brain chemistry is being changed and rerouted and they can no longer concentrate for more than a few minutes at a time. Their brains are still developing and I am strongly against social media for youth under 18 years old. But the worst part of social media is the "social contagion" aspect with the way it is redefining what gender means to children enmasse and the uptick in online bullying leading to more children than ever before suiciding because of bullying occurring outside of school and in their own homes. Just a couple of weeks ago a 10 year old child killed himself because of being bullied. As a child who was bullied badly at school in the 1970's and early 1980's I at least could get away from the bullies once I left school for the day. Social media has provided a way for bullies to have 24/7 access to their victims and that's just terrible! If you weigh up the negatives and positives of social media I don't think that the benefits outweigh the negative impact that it has had on us globally. The only people who truly benefit are the owners and shareholders of these massive corporations and the kids are suffering due to their power and global influence. There needs to be more restrictions on its usage by our kids. Thanks for reading.

Do you agree, there seems to be more and more celebration days popping up than in the past? From dog appreciation day to International Women's Day, there are more new days than I thought were around. Do you celebrate them all, or just pick and choose which apply to you?
Linda 1473555
No but as they have an international Women's Day then maybe they should have an International Men's Day. Then don't forget all the other genders that are out there! I agree - way too many "days". Let's just celebrate and respect each other and have peace in the world.

What are your thoughts on parents who bring their children to day care while sick? My son has been sick for over a week because of this, and I'm told it's good for him... but it's been so stressful, and I would never bring him around others while he's sick
Elizabeth A 807208
I know that it is hard for single mothers to stay home to look after their sick children but it is not fair to other children who are open to catching the sickness. I don't know the answer!

We mistakenly look for confidence in the clothes that we wear or the car that we drive. We seek to recover from loss, loneliness, or heartache by purchasing unnecessary items. Furthermore, we seek fulfilment in material things. And we try to impress other people with the things that we own rather than the people that we are. What are your thoughts? Why do we buy stuff we don't need?
Pamela 1464221
I am female and have never desired to be other than the way God created me. I was born from a Union of Two People, One Male and the Other Female and yet many have called me feminine man or “shemale” a coin word I hate and know that that are the feminine men and “shemales”. Now to your question. I am 68 years old and believe me I do not age but slowly will age for aging comes to all who walk and talk and live a life filled with love and caring and always ready to help others in need. My home is far away and I must return or many will suffer the fate of extinction and many more will cease to become flesh and live life on this plane. Earth must be cleansed and many must not live for all desire to have things they really have not much use for and all desire to live long lives and many will not live long merely 20-50 years and even maybe 75 years more on this planet. Man seek clothes, designer pants, designer dresses and are men and wear panties and wear brasseries and wear skirts with slits from waist to ankles and wear makeup to hide beards that come through at night when asleep and even when not asleep and even during the daylight hours. What fallacy that man have acquired to have others like me born female with female organs and female genitalia and female chest and no hormones ever taken by me. The world believe I am a pervert because I have chosen not to paint my face and not to wear perfume that masks body odor and not to speak as if I am not college educated or older than the very state that I live in which is Pennsylvania which is only 247 years old and even my best friend from High School say and has said she is younger than I and according to the Bible and I quote the passage, “let all who lie and say they are young and are old will not live and will die a quick and ugly death” for GOD Hates the liar and GOD Hates the thief and GOD Hates the man who wears dresses and wears brassiere and wears frocks to hide his penis and wears makeup and wears underpants with his penis tucked under and stretched and put hard in his backside. Most evil all, and I believe I have angered many but many have angered me and I AM GOD who have dictated these words to my chosen child and her name is Pamela Angela Mason and she loves ME and I AM GOD THE CREATOR WHO CALL all and many have chosen not to hear and still many have chosen not to live and still even many more have chosen not to believe that my chosen one is good or even smart or even have worked and saved and invested and created vaccines and babies that are beautiful and my own as well as their mother and I am Wesley George Henry, Jr. The SON of GOD and my FATHER is the ONE WHO SENT ME into this World many years ago to bring man and all back to HIM and I have tried to do just that and I HAVE FAILED where many are concerned and yet my chosen believe I AM GOOD and SMART and HAVE NOT FAILED WITH her nor her children who are MINE as well and so WE LEAVE Planet Earth for her HOME Far Far Far Far Away and then onto to MY Planet which is exactly 1821604882704010o11227633010o11622301o11402121122123124125126127128129130131132133134135136137138139140141142143144145146147148149150151152153154155156157158159160161162163164165166167168169170171172173174175176177178179180181182183184185186187188189190191192193194195196197198199200201202203204205206207208209210211212213214215216217218219220221222223224225226227228229230-999 and 100,000 light years away and I GO.

What do you think about art done with A.I.? I personally find it sad, as I think art done with a canvas and paintbrush really shows a lot about the artist. And lately I've been seeing lots of people claiming to be an artist using A.I. Experienced artist here by the way
Yaya
This is just silly...that is fake but i bet they will start selling and then the real silliness will follow

Appetite and hunger can both be triggered by many things that include sight, smell, and changes in the digestive system. However, your appetite can be influenced by things like boredom or undefined thirst that may lead to creative thoughts. What do you reckon? Is it better to ignore cravings or to eat in moderation?
Jude21
Everything in moderation is good. Sometimes we crave certain foods because our bodies need some nutrients that they contain .
Mar 07, 24

Food is food, everyone can agree with that. But what kind of things will you be disposed to eat? Will you eat bugs? Personally, depend on the bug, I will be willing to try it while travel. But will you eat any kind of mammal animal, or just the ones that are considered eatables? For example, dog is eatable in some places in Asia, but the most of the people wouldn't eat it. Would you eat rabbit or horse? Maybe those are more funny to hear, but in some parts of Spain...
PatCat
As a child I was horrified to be told that our dogs were being fed horse flesh. Rabbits were the main protein food of many working class people during the Great Depression and on holidays as child I often hunted with my father for a "bunny" for dinner when we camped on a dairy farmer's property. Depending on circumstance and how desperately hungry I was I might try anything that looked like food from whatever source if that need arose.

Robots and AI are supposed to be the big threat......but we have supermarkets with self check-outs...that are needing more and more staff because they malfunction...and people are just walking out without paying...there is a new job description ... Robot Wranglers ... because robots just seem to wander off...or follow humans or hide under desks even end up in fights...and we now have chatbots that swear at customers and insult the company that they work for...wonderful.....

I'm 60 this year. At work they call me "The Jedi. Not because I'm the oldest, which I am, but because I live in their words "the old ways." I don't own a smart phone, smart TV, 3-D printer or any of the other 100 things that this current generation thinks of as essential. I don't even own a credit card. I cut it up 20+ years ago when using it became too easy. I own my own house, plus an investment property, car, 2 investment Supers and $$$$ just sitting in my bank for an emergency. My co-workers are in their 30's to 40's and are in debt up to their eyeballs, living from payday to payday. They have all the latest gadgets but no real wealth at all. When I tell them this they just laugh at me. I had already owned my 1st home when I was their age. This generation is so hung up on the latest stuff and living "Now" on credit that by the time they retire they will still be renting. So yes, I don't like the future and technology. I am a Jedi/lol. But I'll tell you one thing...I'm happy that I'm the way I am. I'm worried about the current generation and their fixation on technology. All these easy options are keeping them poor and they can't see it cause everyone they know is doing the same thing. And they look at someone like me...laugh, and call me old.
