Most cars will be made in China very soon. What the average Joe Blow doesn't seem to get is that China won't need a war to take over the western world. They own so much property in western countries, they control most of the western world one way or another. Our left wing goverments think the Chinese way is the way to go. I can only thank God that I was born when I was born an will miss the distruction of the western world as we know it.

What sort of doctor would do that. I was told I had cataracts for years but not bad but eventually he told me it was time to get the eyes operated on. I was informed all the time. I have an eye test every year and am sent a reminder. I am due for one now. I think sometimes one has to change their doctor or medical person just to keep them honest and yourself in the know. My sister was very ill and her doctor for 10 years kept saying it was nothing. She passed due to cancer that has spread through her body and this so called doctors lack of care. I always say get a second or even third opinion and if you still think something is wrong keep going. Many doctors fob women off as being hysterical, menopausal or whatever. Do not just accept their opinion. Investigate, educate yourself as much as possible and do not be afraid to ask the questions and demand answers. Of course, no need to be rude or abusive.

Schools are very unwilling to acknowledge this unless it happens right in front of a teacher. Perpetrators are smart,they pick their moments. That being said if the school won't help you there are a few things I found with my youngest son helped. Listen, so they feel heard and validated,talk about your child's feelings. Try and work out who is who in the zoo,your child's friends,the bully's as well as those that stand by do nothing . Encourage your child to avoid, those that harass them ,so not to be in an area of the school yard,walk away when being verbally harassed,ignoring them as bully's get bored pretty quick and move on if they can't get the reaction they want. If it gets physical they must report it to the teacher. Specifically in my son's case it got to the point where I told him to retaliate and stand up for himself as the teacher had no interest in his problems and would move him on. I told rhe school this, they weren't happy,but it made the bully think twice about tripping him over and pushing him down rhe stairs again. Finally I got a private councillor. After consulting my sons g.p he was put on a mental health plan* to support him and to get 5 sessions free of private councilling with a child specialist of my choice. Best thing I ever did. He had someone else to talk to,was given great advice,talked about coping with stress and bullying. * the session involved together councilling as a family and part individual which was confidential. Things rhe councillor thought I should know was discussed with my son and then we talked about it together. He continued going for 3 years. Now,he is 18,and happy,doesn't care who likes him or not and actually has had many of his ex bully's apologise to him. By the way ,when school found out about the councillor,they contacted them,but was told they couldn't discuss anything with them. The school offered a councillor for him,after 4 years of ignoring my son,we refused.

Waiting for too long sucks. I think it's better done before retirement, while one is still healthy and able bodied. But, it can still be done after retirement too, depending on personal circumstances.

I recently became a certified master composter in NJ, I learned so much about recycling and the costs these facilities have to pay. If they don't make money to cover their employees and the overhead they will shut down. Now that China won't take our recycling we have a huge problem. We use the items and we have a responsibility to get rid of the left over from the product. I am 1 of 6 people who are involved in collecting soft plastics for the Trex Co (plastic decking materials, etc.) and for every 1,000 pounds we collect we get a very nice bench. We are a small 55+ community and in 1 year we have collected 2 tons of plastic!!!! Win-win, cha-ching!!!!

As a child I was horrified to be told that our dogs were being fed horse flesh. Rabbits were the main protein food of many working class people during the Great Depression and on holidays as child I often hunted with my father for a "bunny" for dinner when we camped on a dairy farmer's property. To me family is so important and where I live we have four generations living in separate houses but on the same property. We don't live in each others pockets but I just adore having my great grandson around he brings me a lot of joy and I believe he keeps me feeling younger. Interest rates are still very low in comparison to historical rates but house prices make the current rates unaffordable. My parents built our childhood home when they first married and added on and made improvements as the family grew and needs changed. Our house was originally a 3-bed, 1 bath, 1 living room with a fireplace and ended up a 5-bed, 2 bath, 2 living rooms with an extended dining room and central heating throughout to accommodate the family of 7 that we ended up as. To a certain extent, people's greed and immigration has pushed up house prices, which also has an effect on the amount of interest they have to pay, regardless of the rates.

After having dark hair since I was a baby I find that I am loving my greys. I really think grey can look quite stylish. I see grey hair everywhere these days. There are no jobs available when graduating from old age. They say firms are looking for experience, but I have 90 years of experience & no takers.

I grew up on a dairy farm with both parents and 4 sisters. As far back as I can remember, we had foster children in our home. Often 2 at a time but mostly 1 and once 3. I remember wanting to adopt them all, some more than others because they came as wee babies and stayed up to a couple of years and you get really attached; at least as a kid it felt like 2 years. We did end up adopting 2 boys and we are all very close and loving as siblings should be. I wondered recently if my parents did it for the money but my Dad set me straight real quick; $7/month for each child. That didn't even cover food. It was out of the kindness of their loving Christian hearts that they were doing this. In my adult life I was able to foster 2 teenaged girls. I don't think there's a much better feeling in life than helping young people out of abusive families and into a Christian home that values them for the gifts they are. And teaching them they are lovable and deserve respect and admiration lead them on to work in a dental office and veterinarian office where their kindness and confidence are shared with a gentleness they never learned in their first families. I am so thankful to God for bringing those girls into my life and the ability to give them what they needed to succeed in life and break the abusive cycle. If any of you get the opportunity to foster and/or adopt a child/children, I say pray about it and if you're led in that direction, follow your heart and do it. You will all be rewarded. It amazes me that the younger generation have the call out for helping the earth, etc. yet they use so much stuff. i.e. wipes, disposable nappies, coffee cups and pods, phones and other electronic equipment, yes and fast food packaging and they usually buy bags at the supermarket also. I have young people around the 30 age bracket in my units here and they do not recycle anything. I saw on the news tonight that the young mothers cannot afford nappies which cost somewhere between $20 and $30 a week apparently and take over 100 years to degrade. We had about 2 dozen cloth nappies that we soaked and washed them. No on going costs with those. We used flannels to wash them with and wipe their faces and then we washed those. We can do our bit but big businesses are doing more damage than we can ever offset. They need to be made accountable. Carbon offset is not the way to go either. Carbon negative is how it should be. Buying some trees to offset the carbon is not lowering it as the trees were already there. Sometimes these areas trees/timber have also been sold so a minus. I guess we all need to make everyone take responsibility from the smallest thing to the largest company and governments.

From the time I was a kid and found even a halfpenny on the pavement I would hand it in at the police station for the charity box. I have a disability due to collapsed vertebrae in spine and yet have cleaned tile flooring, scrubbed kitchen floor, scrubbed baseboards, hand washed dishes, cooked meals and laundered bedding, towels and clothing.

There is My Aged Care but while the mandates are still in place I wouldn't leave one of my cats in an aged care facility. My mother had been in a nursing home for some years before Covid but when they introduced the vaccine mandates almost half the staff left and the place soon fell apart. The residents were neglected as there simply weren't enough staff, the food was terrible, visitors were prevented from visiting and the residents were prevented from going out and every time a resident tested positive they were all locked in their rooms. Prisoners were treated better. My mother had an infection which had previously been tested for regularly, it caused her to have a heart attack, then someone fell on her breaking her knee then another infection went undiagnosed or treated and she died. I lodged a formal complaint 6 months ago and am still waiting for a reply. It was cruel, unkind and over the top and our aged deserve much better. So until sanity prevails and things get back to normal I'd steer clear of the aged care system.

Speed limits are needed but so often people simply ignore them in my area and the Police are never present and there has not been a Speed Camera in operation in our busy road for over 3 years. The Police simply do Not Care, the Politicians do Not Care. Oh they chatter on and on and on as to how concerned they are about road deaths but that is all it is, Chatter. They big problem, which causes people to ignore Posted Speed Limits is when there are, supposedly, Eoad Works in Progress. Kilometres after kilometres on our freeways which normally have a 100kph Posted Speed Limit, have 40 or 60 limits imposed but No-One is actually Working and that includes over Weekebds and Public Holidays. One of our freeways has had a new surface put down, The Speed Limity was reduced to 40 or 60 and it has remained at those limits for Six and More MONTHs - this despite the work having been completed over two months ago. Of course peopl get frustrated and angry and break the rules when those supposedly in charge impose totally unnecessary limits

I, and I think many others as well, get sick to death of hearing parents complaining about the cost of Childcare, that it should be Free - which simply means that other Taxpayers - some of whom have chosen not to breed - are expected - or rather it is considered their Duty - to pay for the rearing of other people's children. If you want children then make up your minds to bring them up yourselves and put up with the inconveniences BUT do Not expect others to do it for you. At 50 you start to become invisible to employers...by 65 you are almost totally invisible to anyone in marketing...or anywhere else for that matter....at that point no-one cares about what you are doing at all and you can basically do whatever you want ....it is the younger members of this new bright and shiny society that is being created for us that need to be very wary and very cautious...they REALLY ARE watching, measuring and weighing you up on a regular basis....and nothing to your benefit is going to come out of it....

The legal ramifications and how to legalize this hasn't caught up. I know there have been wonderful stories of a sister carrying a child for her sister etc, but when you get money coming into this with greedy unscrupulous people it is a big problem. Nobody thinks about the child.

Love and companionship is vital to stop us becoming rigid in our self-centredness. I married young and it was a mistake. I ended up supporting my three children on my own. Then I met someone who willingly took on my kids as well as a wife. He died suddenly 17 years later. A few weeks later my cousin died and her husband and I (we had known each other for 22 years) married a year after that. We are soon to celebrate our 18th Wedding Anniversary and we are the best of friends as well as a married couple. We feel blessed to have each other.

I only worked one job - before I retired. I was the only minority at the job for thirty years (federal civil service position - USA). I did not socialize with my co-workers on the job, on weekends, holidays, or when I took annual (vacation) leave from the job! If I had a co-worker from hell - I did not care - since I could always transfer to another jobsite (without loss of seniority or having to accept a lower paying position)! More important, I never brought the job home with me (mentally) - left job-related personalities at the job - at the end of my shift (and I never dreaded (mentally) going to work in the morning)!

FYI: I have never lived in a house or an apartment - made from timber or had wooden floors. We manage okay. Grow a few veggies and things when we can. We don't go out much for fun, no drives on a Sunday for some thing to do. Petrol prices are ridiculous and I reckon it is because when most of us can we will be in EV's so stuff the petrol station as they are just money grabbing while they can. We all are struggling and it isn't nice. We have simple foods and we make them last as long as we can. We tend now to buy cheaper cuts of meat although we did manage to get a small leg of lamb for about $18. Roasted it and gave the dogs the bones, had it as a roast dinner. Then because we are growing cucumber and tomatoes we did a salsa with rice and the last night we did an onion gravy with the meat so it lasted 3 dinners which to us isn't bad. We crumb steak and keep half to do the salsa and rice with that too so we can get 2 meals from that. A chicken lasts us 3 nights as well. I guess you have to use your imagination these days to make things go further. There are some great tips on that on the net, cheap family dinners and dinners with 3 or 4 ingredients. We do what we have to and just Thank the Lord we aren't some where, where there is a war on. We whinge but we also need to be grateful we aren't living in the Ukraine and think of all the suffering they have had to endure. Life is tough enough without having to go through a war or a famine when the potato blight hit America, Ireland and the UK in the 1800's.

Never called up, but would have done it if needed. Not an easy task if you are called up for a murder trial like a friend did. She was called up for the Truro Murders and I think it lasted 6 weeks. She was a nervous wreck after it.

Lived with no TV as child out west n no TV available all hours when rearing kids regionally but once we did defiant none before school at meals or till homework done. I still can't handle a TV on n nobody listening or watching it...I am not a big movie watcher either ...so if mine broke would replace for hubby only

It will be interesting to see if we get the same volume of travellers going overseas as before...unlike a lot of Australians...I'm biased...I already chose Australia as my home...I wasn't just born here....it wasn't an accident....I hope a lot of us have learnt that we have a fantastic country and there is plenty to do right here...we are lucky in a whole lot of ways....I'd really only go overseas now for an arctic adventure somewhere like Norway...I've got just about everything else here...even a whinging Croatian called Ivan..... how did that guy get into the country?

This is an appalling idea. It is just an excuse for the Police to do Nothing for that is exactly what will happen. What about people who do not have, nor want, the Internet, computers, mobile phones etc.? What do they do or will some non-Police employee of the Police simply tell you to either report on-line or forget about it? The Police are Supposed to be there to Help, to interact with the Community not just sit in offices looking a computer screens or swanning around in their fancy cars. Once - many, many years ago, there were Police on the Beat in most suburbs - on foot. Today by the time they would get to you when there is trouble it would probably be far too late. This proposal is just making the Police even more remote than they already are! Have a look at some of them the next time you happen to see one walking about! Most are Grossly over-weight so to have them off their backsides and walking the beat would be good for them. The result would be the Public would feel Safer and know that the Police actually do care about Public Safety and the prevention of Crime.

When I was 15 I went to the hair dressers & got a perm...cause that is what you did back then. I ended up with an affro, not a good look on me.lol I wore hats for months.

As an ex Aged Care worker in-home care, aged care homes, and now caring for my husband,, I feel sorry for all concerned, Age Care is hard work but very rewarding, however, each State Premier, should get some of the young useless kids that just want handouts from Center Link, and put them through the Age Care Course so they can fill the gaps , I wish I could I could go back but with my complicated life they don't even want me to help with house cleaning, regardless to saying I don't need a wage, but that apparently is against workforce rules, I helped my Mum look after my Dad, until I was so worn out I had to quit, and she looked after him until he died , and like wise with Mum, but the doctors took our rights away to look after her, so much so she only lasted 1 month in rest bite and was going into full time care the day she passed, If they had let us continue her care with the help of Age Care support, she would; not have died from a broken heart

You find feminine products distasteful, Shirley? 50% of the population need, will need or used to need them! Mum bought me old-fashioned Modess when I was a kid - then I found out about more modern options & was incredibly thankful for them. My Nan never got the period talk, so she thought she was dying when it happened - a stranger had to comfort & explain it to her. That's outrageously unfair to a kid! Nobody wants to talk to their kids about condoms, either, but it's better than having your kid contract HIV, hepatitis, &c. Ads can prompt questions or provide a lead-in to further discussion.

Walked and rode my bike to school and around the area where I lived without having to worry about being kidnapped or attacked. Playing hopscotch, reading books and feeling like Not a Care in the World. Could amuse myself being an only child until 8 - not like these days. NO politically correct rubbish & discipline for the naughty people at school, which had no effect on them later in life. Glad I grew up in those times.

We do need politics & politics is supposed to be about what's best for the majority, elections & politicians are about a popularity contest & not a popular vote - which is why I don't trust them. We vote for the person the party thinks will win not necessarily the best leader. 'Political donations' (basically legal bribery) need to be outlawed. Calling out & jeering in parliament needs to be banned. You don't have to agree with what everyone says - that should lead to intelligent debate not being put down. Example, Ex-PM Julia Gillard seems to be strong, independent & intelligent person & not a puppet, so she was attacked for who she wasn't married to & what she was wearing - not her politics. Not everyone who reads this will agree with everything I wrote, hopefully leading to an intelligent chat & not that I spilled coffee on my t-shirt.

I’m a rubbish sleeper. I get 4-5 hours per night. That’s prolly why I enjoyed shift work all my life and why I have hypertension and arrhythmia and a whole lot of other woes. Would I swap if I had my time again?……not on your nelly, it was a hoot, loved every minute of it. Slowing down now though….lol

There is no way that you could use more handwashing dishes. Not unless the tap was on the whole time. It's like comparing having a wash at the handling to having a shower.
