A lot of my neighbors, here in the States, have "Ring" doorbells installed. Or, another type of technology to replace their "doorbells". Another thing, many have so many gadgets, from speakers to their light fixtures being operated through the internet. It s like a spy organization cinematic plot, from earpieces to hidden cameras on one's bow tie. It's incredible, yet very impersonal. What are your thoughts on these Technological Devices?

It can be good for your security but it can also be highly invasive. Care needs to be taken with your liberty. On a lighter side one time when we were in a holiday home my friends wife was on dinner duty when the power failed and the stove went off, she said bugger and just put it in the microwave....AND??? Lol.... I laughed so much she biffed a sausage at me. Too much reliance on modern technology can be hazardous...lol

Do you think that the title mum or dad is something that needs to be earned? Just because you have a kid that is biologically yours doesn't mean you deserve to be called a mum or a dad?! I believe that those titles need to be earned. And you are only a mum or a dad if you step up and are actually involved in your childs life all the time. Not just when it is convenient to you or when you can be bothered to be a parent!

I can remember the feeling of satisfaction when we used to get paid in cash, kept a little for expenses, train or bus fares lunch money and paid board and the rest got put in the bank and it stayed in the bank. None of this direct deposit and losing track of how much gets withdrawn bit by bit for all and sundry to track where you spent what.
I only use PayPal to receive survey payments and am quick to transfer it to a real bricks and mortar bank account. Don't like the way the banking system is heading with all the online no face to face person contact ... not knowing who of what purpose your money is being used as it accumulates a pitance in interest.

Why are so many people rude to supermarket staff. We are human too we have good days and bad days. We have things going on outside of work that we worry / stress about. It's not our fault something isn't in stock or has run out. We have zero control over what the company we work for does!

Whatever happened to cars being sold either new or used with a spare tire in the boot? What is a driver supposed to do if they get a flat tire when on a long trip? Are we all supposed to pay and have someone waste their time to fix the tire. If this is what is expected of drivers today, then why have a wheel brace and a jack in the boot for the sole purpose of changing a tire!

Have you seen how big strawberries are now? They look like they're on steroids. Fruit is seasonal, it's not meant to be eaten all the year around. All these preservatives and crap they throw into our foods is what is causing our food intolerance and gut issues

Food is tastiest when in season (that is why there are seasons). Preserving was invented so we could have fruit and vegetables out of season/stock up for winter/not waste a good growing season.
I believe lots of gut issues and intolerances go further back than just today's preservatives. Best health information is, and always has been "eat everything in moderation". Unfortunately, when women are pregnant, they are told by "experts" not to eat this or that while they are pregnant and this is the first stop to helping the eliminated food become recognised as an allergen to the immune system of the forming foetus. These people then "breast feed" for the best of their child but still eliminate these foods for health reasons so, by the time the food is introduced to the child, the child's natural immune response is "this should not be in my body and needs to be attacked" (allergic reaction)

We have private rooms for private messaging via Google.... people's pictures can be put up via their avatars and now added to things like their recipes and discussions or polls .
These can either be personal photographs or taken from another social media source like pinterest or facebook or instagram ..all of which constitutes copying and pasting / sharing posts / uploading from one social media site to another ! We can like or comment on eachother's forum posts in the chats otherwise known as a thread ... Keeping safe online here is still very much warranted as are the rules for using other social media sites. Yes we have limitations here ,but there is live chat in the bingo room and the ability to share video clips from media sites along with putting up with a multitude of annoying advertising , people's mad misinformation and some trolls even .. yep I would most definitely call this a social media website ;)

As a lactose free person, I believe I am being overcharged for my coffee/latte as now I am being asked for an additional amount ranging from 50 cents to $1 to cover the soy or almond milk. However the cost of soy or almond milk at the supermarket is only 10 cents a litre more than normal or skim milk. My lactose free coffee/latte only requires a small amount of soy/ almond milk. The two biggest money makers in a cafe are coffee and the soup of the day...no-one seems to care that they both cost very little make...you wanting to use several different milks would make the Barrista's job much more difficult..in a really busy cafe it would be a nightmare....I would hate to be doing that job now....it was a breeze when I did it....I enjoyed it..nobody needed all this crap in 1980...(why is that?)

So I have 34 pending surveys and the HIGHEST point survey rates is one of 275 points. Yes 27 cents. Ummmm. The difficulty in such a survey completion is to know where to safely invest such a large sum. But I notice the top one (A 275 points Orange Survey) shows it is just a total survey of 1 minute long survey to complete it as noted by Rewardia. UmmmI thought. As a kid I hitch hiked all over Europe..I thought Denmark would be laid back like Sweden or Finland...but the bike gangs there are violent...I was hunted through the outer suburbs of a major city by a gang with bike chains and knives...maybe 9 in total...after money or passports or whatever..for over an hour...I climbed up into a building site and watched them cirlcling...scary stuff...they knew I was there...I just saw something about Danish Bike Gangs on the news...

As a disabled person who uses a walker and sometimes a wheelchair, I am constantly surprised by the number of people who use the disabled carpark who do not need the extra room for a mobility aid. Their selfishness means I often have to park along way from entrance and in a narrow carpark.

In Gosford NSW...a doctor who was probably late for work at the surgery parked in a disabled car space....there is wonderful security camera footage of a man in a wheelchair very carefully removing all the air from all his tyres...absolute magic....there should be MASSIVE fines for this behaviour....

No of course a Higher Price does not mean better value. Take a trip into one of those very up-market Department Stores and those dinky little Boutiques offering, supposedly Designer Gear, Exclusive Brands by Haute Couture Houses of Fashion. Grossly over Priced garments but ALL Made in China, India, Bangladesh and other slave-to super-low Income countries. We went in to one of those Department Stores, up the escalator and into the Women's Fashion Floor. There at the top of the escalator was a display of a well-know designer. Faded Jeans with selectively placed "Tears", Price? A not-so-cool $695.00! The top? It looked liked a woman's vest-cum-Tee shirt with a tiny single row of "lace" around the neckline. The price? An equally not-so-cool $435.00!
My female companion unbuttoned the top couple of buttons on her blouse to reveal an identical top with exactly the same single row of "lace". Price at the Local Market? $15.00. Our local Op Shop sells faded Levi Jeans with naturally worn, strategically sited holes - just like the Designer jeans at $695 for just $10! - I know this because they were my jeans! The only reason I was not still wearing them was because I don't think it is appropriate for Mature Age Men and Women to dress as if they were in their late teens! Brand, Price and Designer Labels mean Nothing.

In Australia...1 kg of sugar always cost $1....for a really long time....then a few years ago...it went up to $1.09...and finally $1.10...OK...three weeks ago all new supplies of sugar are now $1.60...no natural disasters...no explanation and absolutely no apology from anyone...I've told people and they say it doesn't matter and why am I complaining...am I the only person to have noticed this?...and does everyone else think that this is quite normal?....if they did that...

I so enjoyed Emma Kate's recent discussion on favourite songs for her playlist and then started thinking about the first cassette tape i ever bought- which was in the 80s. It was Human League. I was a student at a Technical Institute and was living away from home for the first time and in a Halls of residence. Having my music cassette player going was great and i remember friends making those mix tapes with some many great songs on them.

School is about learning how to develop social skills, to negotiate, to converse, to organise your time, to learn about what is appropriate in different contexts ... the list goes on. These are all vital skills for the workforce. share your experiences with the nurses . they have lots of good down to earth tips. Run a day by day diary and give it to the oncologist at each regular consultation, you will get many and varied side effects. Some of these could influence a variation in the chemo. Don't try to eat big meals once your taste goes away. It does no harm to have a google look at what is out there.

My husband & I have always made it important to buy each other a card on special occasions. Birthdays, Anniversaries, Christmas, Mothers & Fathers Day etc. We are now retired, cards are expensive & money is tight. We have kept all our cards over the years & now have them in a container so that on each special occasion we find time to go through our passed cards & recycle one to each give the other. There are many beautiful, meaningful cards & it is so nice to read them...

I don't really have any talents unless you count dealing with people. I hate it though! I'm a Legal Executive so I deal with people all the time so I guess I have kind of used my talent.

It's a petty sad state of affairs when one has to start working at any age. Once 'work' is started in never ends (even in retirement.) We should try and let kids be kids as long as possible because like time itself, once it passes it never comes back.

Hi I was just doing a Survey where they had listed Continents, one of them was Oceania, I am pretty Sure that being Australian that i am offended (Ha). AUSTRALIA IS A CONTINENT NOT OCEANIA.

Australia is a continent which is part of the region of Oceania. It is the only country in Oceania that has the land mass to be a continent. There are only 7 continent in the world and Australia is one of them, although other country seem to call it the continent of Australia/Oceania, must be some new age thing.

39 years ago I asked my current wife to join our work indoor cricket team [the twisted kids] ,she did, now 3 kids 3 grandkids so many houses 4 dogs 5 cars,i digress ,my employer of 20 years asked me to talk to my wife about quitting she had just become pregnant with our first, so i quit along with her and we started a cleaning business which went for nearly 34 yours until covid put an end to that,but it was such a good move ,we met a lot of people,so i thank them for there ignorance

Beware if you are 65 or more, don't bother with Coral Survey CO-9DASXS. I just attempted it, and the next question after I told them I was aged 71 was to to ask " what job did you do before you retired", or words to that effect. Well F@#$ them, I am still working at 71, and I resent the implication that being that age automatically means I am retired.

There are professionals who train for between 2 and 3 years whose sole purpose on graduation is to design things like surveys polls and forms that need to be filled out....nobody bloody uses them because it costs money...so all the forms polls and surveys are rubbish...the results are rubbish...and we end up with lots of other rubbish that no-one needs....
we are surrounded by idiots who want to save money...buildings and stadiums that collapse...that packet you cannot open..the tin opener that doesn't open anything..plastic door handles on cars...there is no reason for any of this...just employ people who understand what is needed and what is safe reasonable and intelligent....
