My shoes were hurting me the other day and I had to sit down - then I saw the problem - I had them on the wrong feet! Couldn't stop laughing at myself.

I ask this, because many phones, computers and, even, some businesses are doing away with passwords and are moving towards fingerprint scanning, iris scanning and chip scans. They claim it's more secure, but I still prefer to use a password, because I find the other new technologies a bit concerning. What are your thoughts about all of this?
Edward S 497347
I was once hacked years ago when I had my businesses. The police told me that one method most used by hackers is entering people's computers through their MSN...ICQ or YAHOO messengers ....The police advised me to delete all messengers from my computer ..... When I was hacked I was hacked on MSN messenger whilst unknowingly chatting to the person who hacked me, whilst she was in my computer sending copies of my business files to everyone on my friend's list

I know many do not have a father, unfortunately, some do not even have a father figure in their life..but I thought it would be nice for us to talk about our fathers or a father figure in our lives. My dad has done a lot for me. My mom is now better (Thank God), but when I was growing up, she was ill a lot. Which, called for my dad to step up many times and fill both roles for my siblings and I. This all as he juggled a job and cared for my mother. Next, comes my brother,...
Naf
My father has lived in the same house but I've barely talked to him because he would always show anger for no reason and out of nowhere. So that made me distant from him. He also enabled my mom's abuse.

Easter buns of course as popular and often hit the shelves after Christmas. Should buns, without the cross, be available to purchase all year round?
Dion B 434033
What a crazy idea, next people will want chocolate to be sold all year round... ohh wait.... Plus think of all the money shops would lose out on. After all cant charge a ridiculous amount because its 'only available for a short time" PS super markets and bakerys out there, feel free to leave the cross of my bun and save me a few bucks a packet

Do vets charge to much? Is pet insurance worth it? Or are willing to pay whatever costs for a loved pet ...
Russel B
How about a Vet joke? If you lock your dog and your partner in the boot of your car and leave it locked for for10 minutes. Guess who is pleased to see you when you let them out?
Apologies everyone it's just my warped sense of humour.

Do you listen to songs in other languages? These being languages that you do not speak or understand well (need a translation for). I personally, enjoy listening to songs sung in Aramaic, Russian and Serbian Slavic. Unlike some of my constituents, I do find the interpretation or translation of the song in a language I do understand.
Maria S 460525
i have heard some beautiful Latino songs, I don't understand the words but the way the music flows is just awesome, and having visited Japan some of the songs I heard are pretty cool too. You really don't have to know the words to appreciate the music/songs..

I love to shop, I love to look at new things that are brought out on the market and I like to get this at a great price. Are you one to wait for specials or do you just buy it because it's trending?

Me like to buy cheap things on very good special at shop and eat it before it goes out of date. This is usually the same day I buy it.
Me have to eat it very fast.

Should children be permitted to be executors to their parents will? The nominated ones often help themselves to a 'bit extra' as executors fees, which may be legal but not necessarily fair.
CILLY0
It is so hard sometimes as you bring your children up to be fair and honourable and it is so hard to see what the $$$ signs can do to some of them at times. Trust certainly goes out the window with those that are done wrong.

When boys are in an environment with other boys only. They take on a "pack mentality" and don t know how to relate to girls and women. I think co-ed schools are the smarter option. They help raise boys to become decent men.
Bugalugs
No apologies, Johana C but I thinkyour ideas are nonsense. I went to an all boys school and if anything, thanks to the plethora of paedophile teachers - including female ones, who were the biggest bullies of all - we came out as misandrists. Yes, in some ways Co-ed schools are better but let us not forget that girls can be every bit as cruel, nasty, vindictive - especially towards other girls - Their bullying techniques have, somehow, been developed into an art which is passed down from one year to the next and they take that through to their adult lives.
Both demales and males will develop into decent Women and Men if they have the example set for them by their parents. Sadly today Parents would rather rake in buckets loads of money - half of which they waste on After School Care for THEIR children - than actually rearing THEIR children themselves. So children come out of school knowing nothing more than how to bully and are set to be misogynists and misandrists their entire lives.

Did they live up to your expectations? I've met Geoffrey Rush and Rutger Hauer (now deceased). The latter was a better experience than the former. It's best not to idolize anyone full stop because we are all human beings.

Shaun Micaulef: brilliant, discerning and humble bloke. We had a brief chat at a small newsstand in Melbourne's CBD. His intelligence shone through his eyes intensely. He is also extremely handsome in real life. I was at Edward's Lake (Melbourne Vic) for a Labor Party rally with my parents as a kid. It rained so the venue had to be held indoors and the Great Gough nodded as he walked by. That man had the most powerful presence I have ever come across. What a man!

What do you think of Daylight-saving? Some countries have it, and some don't. Some states, territories, in Australia have it. Some people seem to either love it, or hate it! I think its a bit too long, at least in Australia. I would shorten it by a month, as it gets to dam hot in some parts of country. How does it affect you, if at all? Do you become more happier, or .....moodier?

People think violent movies and video games cause real life violence. But I have to disagree. The majority of people who watch a violent film, don't go out and hurt or kill people. They watch the film, turn it off and then get on with their lives.
APB
I don't know why anyone wants to watch them in the first place...even that is very disturbing..you can make terrifying films without anyone getting killed, it just takes someone with some true skill and ability.

It sounds mean but I steer clear of partners that snore. I don't want to be woken up in the middle of the night by someone gasping for breath. I understand it's not their fault. They can find another partner to put up with it. Have you ever slept with a snorer?
Phyrephly
I've slept with the same snorer my parents sleep with: Charlie (Heinz59er, dog), is the loudest sleeper; he snores, farts, barks, yips, grunts, growls, yelps, and even sleepwalks! My parents thought he was possessed the first night he was in the house. But he does like the ladies, and enjoys his nightly cuddles. certainly didn't get much of those in the house he was rescued from (RSPCA save). Making up for it now tho'.

I used to love watching the Academy Awards and see people realising their dreams and winning awards for their creative work. But the Oscars isn t what it once was. Actors have become political puppets. No one cares what they think about politics. They should stick to what they do best -- acting!
lippy loo
The glamour has gone and now mostly just trashy outfits and who can show more leg or boobs. No class in a lot of their speeches either. It sometimes feels like the ones that win should not even have been nominated and the better actors have been overlooked due to the money put behind the movie or the actors themselves. It all seems a bit rigged to me these days and I no longer watch it.

I fail to see why middle-aged first time mothers are still stigmatised and shamed. I mean lots of women are having children later in life now. I was born to parents in their 40s and 50s and it hasn't done me any harm. I fail to see the issue. And this argument that the older parent may not live long enough to see their child grow up is ludicrous. Disease, addiction, tragedy and dysfunction can strike at any time in life. One can die at any age. Leave these poor women...
Imperia S '' PIER''
Good on these women who are taking the chance, there is nothing so beautiful than to hold a newborn in your arms at any age, besides I find that you seem to have more love and time for a child as one grows older and is more responsible, My Mum had 4 of us, and at 44 she told us that we are going to have 2 more, I was 18 at the time and all I could think is, EVERY ONE is going to think they are mine, Shock Horror, but it was amazing how my friends and my brothers came together, knitting baby clothes and the boys making the cradle with Dad, Sadly we lost one sister and the other is now 50 herself, 12 years older than my oldest, Mum is 94, sadly Dad Passed 17 years ago, But Mum Always Said That having my sister kept her young and the family together

The most valuable lessons I've learnt were after I left school and university. Lessons about money. Lessons about entrepreneurship. Lessons about success and savings and investment. All these useless things they teach in the classroom that nobody ever uses. Education departments throughout the world need to step up

Start Your Day with Intention Starting your day in a good way begins with setting a positive tone from the moment you wake up. Try avoiding your phone for the first few minutes and instead take a deep breath, stretch, or think of one thing you re grateful for. A healthy breakfast and a clear plan for the day can help you feel focused and motivated. When you begin your morning with intention and calm energy, the rest of your day naturally feels more productive and...

Receiving 2 points compensation is such an insult when getting booted out of a survey - there should be 40 points minimum and even with surveys at around 1500 if you don't qualify 4 points thats an insult they she compensation should be increased to at least 250 points or a quarter of them. There's some really good ones out there and others that make kids roll their eyes. What's the best dad joke you've heard so far?
BLM
Not a role model dad joke. When I was little, innocent, and young - eons ago - I used to 'pray' for a bicycle. I grew cynical - because no bicycle appeared, I learned from people who went to Sunday School that's not exactly how praying works. So, I stole a bicycle, and prayed for forgiveness - which explains WHY I never became a DAD!

Maybe just go one time and order water with a lemon slice and when you get the chance, tell your work mates of your situation. I'm sure they will understand and sympathise with you. And if they offer to buy a round, accept graciously and don't worry about having to pay them back. They wouldn't offer to buy you a drink and expect one in return. When we were younger in the 1970s and 80s. We would have what they called block parties. While many of these events have gone the way of the DoDo (an extinct bird)I think they were killed by the very people who attended them.
The crabby neighbour who called the police because there was too much noise, or you were blocking traffic. Quite often the drunks show up and spoil it for everyone. Fights, loud arguments, too much booze, nobody cleans up, all contribute to the events demise.

I saw a TV show where a woman owned a business and her executive assistant was offered another job and when she found out it was a friend of hers who made the offer, she felt betrayed, but the friend said it was just a good business move, and had nothing to do with their friendship. Is that the right attitude? Should business deals, hiring/firing, corporate takeovers, whatever, be made regardless of who the people involved are, even if it's family or friends?

The friend who made the offer should have informed the woman. That would have been the decent thing to do.

You can't really compare it to the last time you helped someone. Everyone is different and not everyone will screw you over. If I had enough money to spare I would help my partner provided he's not blowing all his money on drugs, alcohol, gambling etc. and then expecting others to give him money for his necessities.

Do you keep your Christmas and birthday cards or do you put them in the rubbish when you have read them, like I do?
Missy Wyld
With my mum in law passing a few weeks ago, the family had the unenviable task of going through her unit to get it ready for sale, as it was in an aged care village.
She kept cards, and the grandkids were going through them, (they are all adults), and found so many from/to their dear 'Pa' that they had sent many years back when they were little (he passed in 1988), and the kids were thrilled to see them & took them home for themselves as keepsakes.
I guess everyone is different, not everyone is sentimental. I feel it's disrespectful to throw them out.

Tom S Qld
WOW! This is a machine! But I see it's $3759 at Harvey Norman (which means it's the same price everywhere). What they won't advertise is the fact that they won't let you walk out of the store until you buy a 2-year extended warranty - add $150.
Choice Magazine recently warned that this is a scam. Consumers are protected by laws. Once you buy the product or service, the promise becomes a right that can be enforced under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL). What do you prefer for your pets? Store branded foods or food that have real ingredients that are healthily braised on each pet's needs?
Larry S 382961
My late boss had Afghan show dogs and he used to buy chuck steak in bulk and freeze it in 1 kg bags. He went to the butcher and was asked the usual chuck steak for the dogs. A woman near him was shocked and said. You feed chuck steak to dogs. He replied, doesn’t everyone.

I've planned a surprise party for her 50th birthday, and it went down well with 50 people attending, and it was at several places - and the big one was where I arranged for a friend she hasn't seen for 25 years, and she was surprised. Let's say it was you planning a surprise party for a friend, family member etc. what kind of party would you plan and what kind of food would you have? I am very keen to hear some ideas and views on this?
DeANG
I have planned a surprise party for my husband's 40th, never in my life attempted to do such a thing, so one day the thought came to my head and I spoke to my mother-in-law and she supported me in my decision, I choose a restaurant in Moonee Ponds. Just had mainly family and a few of my hubbies friends. it was a nice group of about 30 people. I had organized the date/time venue menu /birthday cake . All I told my husband was that on the day we were going out for dinner for his birthday although I didn't want him to see where we were going, I got him into the car. Blindfolded him and held on to his hand and guided him while walking, when I got him inside the venue all the family gathered ready to greet him once i took the blindfold off him he got the biggest and most unexpected shock of his life. My husband could not believe how I could keep such a secret, because I am one who gets exciteded .

Is it me, but for the last 2 weeks the points on every game have been low. I would like to know why, and why do they keep fluctuating. Its driving me crazy
Fonz33
It's sort of random, sometimes I can grind away for what feels like 20 mins just to get 280 points but then sometimes I can get lucky and do one in 3-4 mins and get 900 points

There was a popular song in my childhood here in Australia - "Kookaburra sits in the old Gum Tree" Merry Merry King of the Bush is he (skip a bit) "Laugh Kookaburra, Laugh Kookaburra Gay Your Life Must Be" - Today the Kookaburra should be A Merry Monarch of the Bush, and must be in a same-sex relationship? He must be unhappy!

Do you think RTA will start to design a better traffic lights working system? When people drive somewhere, it is always a disaster to get out of the suburban area. I think this is because the lights system works in the old way, like it was ten years ago. You probably experienced the situation when you are in the traffic line, and the light is green for only 2-3 seconds. What do you think about it?
Larry S 382961
I have this problem only on weekends. A set of lights run very phase time slow. I have rung the traffic control people and get told. Yes sure is a problem so I will tweak the phase to clear it. Nothing gets done. Even have gone online to report it and nothing done.

I've done all kinds of travel over the years and despite the uncertainty of COVID variants etc, I still have plans and hopes for travel etc for my family and me. e.g a family Missions Trip and other travel... What about you guys?? Also, what ideas methods have you found to be effective for generating funds etc for a major dream/plan?
Leslie D 488751
Only spend what you have to. People buy things that are not needed, so their money disappears before their eyes. There are many ways to save, some better than others, so use your imagination. I had plans to go to Ukraine this year but that has been put on hold for now.

I came up with a thought. Why not have a section where people could write a review of various forms of media such as a film, TV show, book, music album or a video (music, short film, a viral video, etc). For example, people could pick a topic and a title, like a new release movie and write a critical review of it along with a rating out of five stars and if they recommend it or not. This could come under the FORUMS section or GAME COMMENTS...
katpurr
Could we please have more ‘play again’ options, so we don’t have to go back & forth to the list?
Especially with ones like Trivia, because if you go to the list, you get a preview of the question, & I would rather not know the question till I get there.

Have you ever had a melody or the song's lyrics, that just kept playing in your mind, and you wanted it out? Did you find a way to get rid of it, or did you succumb to it's power?

I often have 'earworms' like that. Today my son was singing 'Won't you take me to Funky Town' and it is still playing on a loop in my head.lol

I just opened the cupboard and there they were. After removing everything from that shelf (there is always one shelf that they seem drawn to) and getting rid of as many as I could, I clean the shelf, shut the door. 2 minutes later, open the door, and the ones I misses are gathering in a corner, l swear they are laughing at me! So, I put down the borax/sugar mix, which is supposed to kill them, but of course they avoid it. Any Rewardians have better solutions for keeping...

I have tried everything and nothing got rid of the little beasties until I discovered Ant-Rid ant baits, they are little white blocks that you can stick to surfaces and the beasties go inside and take the stuff back to their nest - they really work and they are all gone within a couple of days

What is your preference, why and what would it take to get you to change? Years ago my best friend got an iPhone and loved it, so i got one... never looked back, iPhone for life... I wouldn't be able to convert to Samsung now.
Sammi
l had a Samsung which died so my sister gave me her spare lphone which took me 18 months to work out how to use. Every thing l tried to do was not compactable with the lphone, which meant l had to find different ways to get the phone to do what l wanted, very frustrating. l would never buy an lphone, shich is over priced. When this one breaks down l will go back to an Android

is it the points, or the brain activity you go for? Im for both and go for either. What is the most points in one month for anyone?
mary c
That is a question i rather frequently ask myself- particularly this evening after working through a green survey, completing and submitting- then to be told i hadn't completed it!! do we do these surveys to get frustrated! truly it is for the points and some money..but i do really enjoy connecting with everyone on the forums and seeing other people's comments..i like the games but wish more points could be earned..i work for ages doing the addictive 10x10 puzzle- over an hour- points not much. Whinge over- i am addicted to Rewardia and am on it every night

Do you still keep in touch with your childhood friends? I used to be inseparable with my best friend from primary school for many years, she was even my maid of honour during my wedding ceremony. And yet, now, over the years our ways have somehow parted. Would you say your experiences are similar?
Mooi
It wasn't until I started work at the age of 15 years that I made a good friend. I was bullied all through school. Then I found a great job where I met my best friend and the people I worked with were fantastic. Then my dad decided we should emigrate to Australia from the UK and I left my friends and my beautiful dog behind. Don't get me wrong I mostly love Australia apart from the Government, I have been married since 1979, four wonderful daughters, four grandchildren and a greyhound who is now my best friend, companion and confidante, she never gossips.

A lucid dream is a dream in which the dreamer is aware that they are dreaming. The numbers vary, but between 51% to 82% of people report experiencing a lucid dream at least once.
Bugalugs
Yes,, often, I am aware I am dreaming but at the same time I wake up and my dream has been so realistic and attached to my life as it is that when I wake up I sometimes have to ask myself "Was I dreaming or was this real?" A bit confusing some times and at other times when I realise I was just dreaming I am very, very grateful!

We seem to be going through another period where very old and antique furniture can be bought for very little...nobody wants it...when I was redoing a bathroom...it was MUCH cheaper for me to buy a solid timber dresser that was over 100 years old..and convert it to being a sink unit...than buy a crappy wood fiber unit from Bunnings ... what the new owner got was something very special ... but something else had to go ... to make it ... maybe in a hundred years time...
Imperia S '' PIER''
gosh Andrew 1, how could you use /convert such a beautiful piece of furniture as a bathroom cupboard, My brother is an antique restorer/french polisher, he works for several dealers and auctioneers to restore this type of furniture and would be crying if he saw and hear what you did to it, that would be worth a fortune, and don't worry I won't tell him LOL, I love antiques

There are guys on Air tasker and other sites who specialise in coming to your home and assembling this stuff....IKEA itself has now opened a service to come around to assemble it for you too...how hard would it be to include a sensible logical instruction list...HELLO SWEDEN...what is going on here?
Paul
An update to my earlier post! Recklessly (Or should that be "Wreck".....) I succumbed to DIY temptation again not long after writing it, after all what harm could another small bookcase do? Duly went online to find a matching one, only available in White now, that's OK, I have no colour bias, perfect harmony with the Black one..... Arrived on my doorstep this morning, great! Cold day, nothing like a bit of DIY on a cold winter's day to get the blood pumping, as long as I don't get any one the carpet. Lifted the box up...TRIED to lift the box up....it slowly dawned on me that this "Thing" was a whole heap bigger & heavier than the other one. Dragged it inside & propped it up against the dining table, where it remains. I'll get onto it tomorrow, maybe, after I've moved the furniture. It wont fit where I'd planned.
My biggest dilemma though is they sent me one worth $50 not the one I paid $20 for, what should I do?!!!!

Does anyone really trust crytocurrencies? I'm not so sure about them. I don't know, maybe, they will be more secure in the future. I've heard that the Dark Web prefers them, which doesn't help their case much, if, at all.
Mattcheeta
Cryptocurrency and regular currency will co-exist in the future.
Cryptocurrency, and owning your own crypto-wallet means you become your own bank. This is both a good thing and a bad thing.
While it is new technology, there are a lot of scammers looking to exploit those that are unfamiliar with it, and there are a lot of new 'cryptocurrencies' which can be used as "ponzi schemes"/Pump and Dumps"/"Rug pulls".
I think this is a great video that actually helps explain the concepts of Cryptography/Cryptocurrency. (I hope im allowed to post this) https://youtu.be/bBC-nXj3Ng4
Moving forward, I believe things like crypto can be very good for the world, and can improve trust in things like Elections, contracts and other legal issues.
But, it still has a long way to come before real world adoption.

My son was in a car accident where he was driving straight on a main road. The second car pulled out of a parking lot in front of him. No one was given a ticket. My insurance company stated that no ticket means both parties were at fault. Is this a true statement?
Morton B
Based on law in NZ you son had right of way, the other car was pulling out onto a carriageway and must give way or stop until way is clear. Drivers can exchange details of Name Address/contact phone number, Registration No and name of Insurance Co. If requested by other driver you must disclose this info and he must reciprocate as required under the Land Transport Act. I would also make a Police report to get it documented if police didnt attend accident esp if he refuses to supply required details. Here getting a ticket is not a requirement for Insurance Company

My youngest son complained to me about his brother going off to work in Canada "I thought he'd come back with great stories. loads of pictures and stuff that he got there...but he is in contact all the time, I get photos and videos of all he is doing...there isn't going to be anything to talk about when he gets back"....I did all my major travelling and work abroad a long time ago,,,the odd phone call or a postcard that often too longer than you to get back....I travelled for two...

Sometimes when I venture out, it really does feel like we are living in an apocalypse. The social distancing. The masks. The fear in people's eyes. The avoidance in people's body language. The eerie feeling in the air freaks me out.

If we can get 100% support from all citizens in following government regulations, we can defeat this terrible virus. But it needs 100% NOT 99% or less. The ball is now in our court. The pathway to recovery is there and it is achievable. Stay strong and committed to following all government directives and we will surely win.

Do you think families will be able to get together this year for Easter?
APB
Its funny, when we all discuss Christmas...there are loads of people who get all worked and upset about it being all about Christ, and people have forgotten the true meaning etc.....Yet when we get to Easter ...another Pagan festival that the Christians stole from it's true owners...Everyone is talking about hot cross buns, chocolate eggs and bunnies...I guess the Christians couldn't come up with anything better.....

Not that long ago... I was just browsing around on the internet, and I came across a penfriend-club. I was surprised! I thought penfriend clubs died out due to the popularity of the internet. It's good that they still exist! Have you ever had a penfriend? Do you currently have one that you write to?
Warrior Woman
As a lonely teen in the UK back in the 50s and 60s I had penpals all over the world. We exchanged postcards, stamps, learnt a bit about languages and other cultures. How exciting it was to receive mail from France, Japan, USA, Italy, Norway, Jugoslavia, the Azores etc. I studied languages at School and Uni and hitchhiked around Europe meeting and mixing wonderful people including my future husband. Now Facebook has replaced letter writing and I love hearing from my many International friends every day.

When do children reach the status of having had enough experience of the world to try to tell their parents how to live their lives?
Anneliese
Lessons and learning can go both ways. You teach them things and likewise they can teach you things. Your talking about bossing someone, there should be respect from both sides. Discipline is a different thing, it's like learning what's right and wrong. However gaining experience and learning is something you will always do.

As this 2020 has been very difficult for most of us, Christmas presents can be a little bit challenging for our pockets. Are you going to buy less and cheaper gifts this year?
Judy CH
Yes, we were defrauded of $53,500 so it is hard enough buying the bare necessities let alone being extravagant, can't even afford to buy and post Christmas cards
Dec 09, 20

Mine usually accumulates in my coat pockets and goes towards a nice bottle of wine. Or I keep it and give it to buskers. How about you?
Warrior Woman
I save up all my change at the end of the week and it goes into a special bank account for my little volunteer school in a very poor Balinese Village for children whose parents cannot afford the Government school fees. I began it as a kindergarten and it has been going now for 8 years, helped by my fundraising and donations from friends. Whenever I go over to take books, clothing, soccer boots etc., my accumulated bank deposits help pay the school bills. It is run by my Balinese friends who take no money themselves so the children can get a basic education. It is amazing how change does make such a difference to children who have nothing, not even a toy of their own. Covid has meant I cannot get over there since January and my tiny school has closed, waiting until I can get back with what I have saved.

Why are people so rude on the roads these days, before people used to give way to other people out of being polite. Now days people don't let anybody in, if you try to change lanes, people speed up so you can't If you park at the supermarket car park, once you have finished your shopping, and want to reverse out of your spot, no-one will stop to let you out, I've even had someone go around me, and I was half way out. What is wrong with people these days?

Do you believe healthcare should be free? Or do you think the individual should have to fund it themselves? If so, what are the reasons for your stance?

Totally agree healthcare should be free worldwide. It would actually cut the cost of medications, surgeries etc. People with no health cover are doomed from the start unless they're on a 5 figure salary

Hi all. I'm finding more and more surveys screen out and/or are completely irrelevant (the 'big corporate tech' ones for instance). And few pay well for the time spent. These days I get screened out alot. Either I start answering questions, then they say sorry you've been screened out. Or i actually get to the end of the survey and it says either (error) ( page not found) or screened out after im do e answering all the questions. That makes me angry because ive just wasted time in doing them. Sometimes I get 2pts as a compensation, but mostly not. That's why I hardly get points together. BS
