There is so much to be learnt from the elderly. They've lived through wars and journeyed through struggles we couldn't even comprehend. Yet they are almost dismissed by society. It really annoys me. See more
Simone S 316632
When you're elderly, you either become invisible or an irritation. Younger people (and I include those well into their 40's even) become impatient with older people who are stuggling physically. I've seen it at supermarket check-outs all the time, the operator will whizz all the groceries through while the elderly person tries to keep up, then when the elder fumbles around trying to pay, those standing in line start sighing with impatience. I've even seen in family situations, the younger generations laughing or mocking their elders when they are trying to participate in a conversation. The whole 'ok boomer' tagline is the new "you wouldn't understand becuase you are not a parent' putdown that people who don't want to listen use. Elderly people deserve far more respect and patience than what they currently get.

Eat more REAL food...fruits (organic, non-GMO), eggs, beef, sardines/fish.
Stop mindlessly buying THINGS.
I live off a VERY low income, but, I took the time to COMPLETELY reverse my lifestyle. Each month, after my rent is paid and my internet/TV is paid I then live off $85 for every 7 day period. I shop once a week, stick to my budget and eat little to no processed food garbage. I rarely even cook...only when I have steak 4 times a month. I am also peacefully single, no kids, no vehicle, thus, no insurance, gas, expenses. I have no credit cards. I have no subscriptions. I do little to no shopping MINUS the Amazon gift cards I cash out from this site which just replenishes items I get every few months...organic coconut oil for oil pulling, CoQ10, cell salts, moringa powder (for my smoothies), psyllium husk (for my smoothies) and any other things I need here and there.
The key to it all is escaping the mindless consumption mentality. I FORCED this on myself aroun 2012 or so when I sold everyting I owned and, once all the CLUTTER and CRAP was gone...I was there...with nothing, yet, I woke up day and I was alive. Learning gratitude when one has nothing EXCEPT being thankful for being alive each day can truly reset your mentality.
My golden rule...if "society" does things....I do the exact opposite. Same goes for when MSM tells us something...I know the exact opposite (most of the time) is ACTUAL truth PURPOSELY not told to us to keep us enslaved mentally.
Now at 42 years young...life is simple, calm, peaceful, stress free. I am more active, I am actually healthy, I have never been to a doctor since I was 16. I have NEVER had a prescription medication. I have NEVER drank coffee (which DESTROYS your adrenals, thus, your kidneys as well). I GOT sober from alcohol and drugs on my own, doing my own "detox" program which included planned relapse usage in order to have reflective self-therapy sessions in order to actually find the root cause of the NEED to abuse drugs and alcohol, which led to me eventually healing. Healthy lifestyle helps ANY AND ALL addictions, fyi.
Long story short. Keep shit simple. Life is short, so actually LIVE IT on your terms.

Our corrupt and totally Dishonest Federal and State Politicians claim they cannot refuse the massive pay rises the Not-So-Independent Remuneration Commission - it should be remembered that it is Appointed by the Politicians so it is 100% Owned by them, never mind that we, the Taxpayers, are not allowed to know who it is that actually makes up this Remuneration Commission, we can bet it will include former politicians, judges, senior public servants - These massive and totally unjustified Pay Rises do not simply end with Federal Politicians they flow through to the Federal Public Service chiefs, Judiciary, State and Territory politicians and all of their senior Public Servants and the Judiciary. Think on this. There are some Public Servants who are being paid 100s of 1000s more than the Prime Minister, State Premiers and Territory First Ministers!
Our obscene politicians then use that lovely cash to buy countless Residential Properties which they charge ever-increasing rents for and then they Negfatively Gear the lot so that they end up paying NO INCOME TAX at all. It is no wonder that they all oppose any suggestion that Negatively Gearing should be abolished. One ALP, yes a politicians who supposedly represents the Down-trodden Masses, owns so many properties that he oh-so-conveniently forgot to mention that just a few years ago and before the price of housing escalated as it has done recently, he owned one property which was worth OVER ONE MILLION DOLLARS.
These parasites, abolished the old Arbitration Commission, which set OUR wages, but have their Own organisation which sets their wages, it has never, ever refused to grant their annual 3% to 4% Pay rises.
On top of all that cash they also get FREE TRANSPORT to and from work, Free Transport anywhere they want to go. The current Minister for Aboriginal Affairs, Linda Burney chartered a SOLE USE Aircraft to transport her around. The current Prime Minister, Anthony Albanese has spent more time big-noting himself overseas thah he has actually spent in Australia working for Us, and he is about to go on yet another Taxpayer-funded junket. All this expense for the current leader of a country which is almost at the bottom of the list of importance, a very, very minor and insignificant world power. He would rather allow Foreign Troops to be stationed on Australian Soil and doing exactly as the USA tells him than standing up for Australia, his predecessors were/are no different. He wants us to give a very small minority of Australians, less than 4%, Rights and Privilkedges which he refuses to grant the rest of the population. Already thanks to this we have other minority groups within Australian Society who are now demanding that they be granted the same Rights and Privilegdes! If it is good enough for one it is good enough for all.

At first I thought it might be a police helicopter so I kept watching it. After a while, it moved through the air, much quicker than any helicopter or plane I knew of. I kept watching, it returned to the same spot and began hovering then suddenly flew up quickly into space and vanished.
The technology of these aliens is far more superior than ours, which is why our world leaders fear them.
These aliens come in peace and probably want to share their technology with us and learn about us as a human race so they can go back to their planet and tell others on their planet that we are a friendly race.
These aliens might be seeing how we are slowly destroying our planet and are visiting us in peace to provide us with the knowledge and technology to save our planet from destruction....But the world leaders are too ignorant to accept that knowledge and technology.

Why has there been an explosion in the number of men committing suicide? They have been driven to it by the Courts and disatisfied partners wanting ever more.

Carmel C 103964
Depends totally on the child. They are all different. There are many different ways to help your children learn things and become more independent.
- For some children that involves not being paid to do chores but by being asked to do 'free' chores as a way of being taught that not all worthwhile activities in life are financially rewarded. That some rewards and benefits in life come purely from being involved, doing their share, helping others, doing their part in the running of the household and helping in the care of themselves.
Out in the adult world not all activities are rewarded by money. It is an important lesson to learn.
-Hence some parents teach their children to think of 'the bigger pictures' by not paying them to work around the house, or paying them only for 'extra' work done outside of the normal chore expectations. Some parents choose to reward the children for good family participation with special outings or the occasional junkfood treat rather than cash.
Other parents expect the children to divide their pocket money into three. Savings, spending and charity donations. Each family is different and has different lessons they wish to teach their children to help them be stronger, independent adults.
- Paying jobs outside of the household can also teach many good life lessons as well as giving them a better appreciation of how finances work and the value of money. Once again it comes down to each child being different, their ages, each job being different and how well each parent is involved in guiding them on how to save and how to socialise publicly. Is it 'necessary' for them to have a job whilst still in school? Only the parents can really decide if that is best for their child. There are so many things that need to be considered. Some children will flourish
whilst others may not. Some jobs are fun. Some jobs are just tiring and non-beneficial in anyway.
- Likewise, extra-curricular activities like sports can teach many good life lessons and help to keep them fit and happier. Sometimes those activities may lead them into a small paid job, like helping to coach.
* Overall each parent needs to look at each of their children differently and as separate individuals with different personalities and needs. What is right for one is not right for all. One may flourish in a small part time job, whilst their sibling may do better being left to concentrate on the karate they love so much or by simply being left to study and help around the house whenever they can. These are the tough decisions that parents have to make and although seeking advice from others is awesome....in the end only you can truly know what is right for your offspring. Even when you make that choice, it may need to be tweaked as time goes on. If something doesn't work well, then move on and try something else. That will help them learn resilience and that change is ok and sometimes it is for the best.

You see, the Bible teaches that the kingdom of God will be on earth.
