Once a week, I take a little extra time to take a little extra time to make a full dinner. I grilled chicken with salt, pepper, and a bit of garlic for flavor. Alongside, I cooked sausage until golden and also grilled some pineapple rings and eggplant slices, they give a nice smoky and sweet taste. For the sauce, I made a creamy tomato base with butter, and spices, then simmered it till smooth. I also made a small side of orange salad mixed with chili flakes and a for a spicy,...

Is it wrong to donkey or informal vote if you don't like any candidates ... should you just vote for the 'best of a bad lot' ?
Neo
If you don't vote, then you don't have a right to complain if the worst of the lot gets in. This is not an issue in Australia as voting is mandatory and if you don't vote, you get fined.

In your next life will you come back as a female or male? & why? (don't worry if you do not beleive in reincarnation) just work with us here :P

Are you kidding ..it's 💯 % Male for me! I'd be the apple of my mother's eye ..live a happily hapless existence with the 'fairies' cleaning up after me . If I ended up with a great job I would be praised and paid higher than any female I worked with..

If I found myself as a widower or a single dad, I would probably find a partner who would love my kids and want to look after us all far easier than a single mum.

I finally got my husband to join Rewardia. While showing him how to complete surveys, he clicked on his very FIRST survey only for a message to come up saying "you have already completed this survey". Whaaaat??? how could he? It was his very first survey. Please Rewardia up your game.

do you share a computer or phone?...anyone from your IP address appears to be the same person from their end...as Peter says below..
Jan 23, 25
Do you think it's deliberate when they time you out of surveys once you have answered all the questions? That way they don't have go give you points. I've completed many and then they say I don't qualify of timed out and when you question where the points are, only to be told it's a 3rd party so we can't confirm you completed the survey
APB
Some of these are carried out on behalf of Universities...who paid for them...they would be horrified if they knew they too are being ripped off by some cowboy survey company

Year to year, I've learned so much from my few plants (veggies and ornamentals) in Zone 5, but it's such a delight to see things grow. Never met a weed nor Japanese beetle I liked, but even they too have functions. Some crops yield good harvest each year while others need me trying differently or watching the weather for what's possible. How do you fare gardening wherever you are?
Andrew C 287196
Gardening affordable?!? The prices in the gardening shops are just as bad as everywhere else. 🙁
The last affordable activity is probably simply walking, and even then shoes cost a fortune and don't seem to last as long as they used to.

Youth crime has now become so serious especially in Queensland that towns are under siege by groups of young teens some as young as 8 or less with machetes, knives, guns, bats, etc. They are stealing cars and usually smashing them, breaking and entering often with violence in either home invasions or business premises, damaging property, bashings of old people waiting for a bus or old people in homes, students at school or other teens in the street etc. more likely being a younger...

Our local agricultural show is on this weekend. I like a lot of people are busy baking and cooking things. Also hoping our garden will give us the biggest, best, pumpkin, tomato. Or best Rose, herbs or other goodies. Do others enter their local shows or is everyone getting too busy, and it is only us oldies that are doing it. I am entering: Pumpkins, Tomatoes, Herbs, Silverbeet, Rhubarb, Murat Limes, Roses. Tea Cake, Scones, Date loaf, Nut loaf, uncooked...

I used to look forward to using some of the news sites on Rewardia but they haven't changed in a long time. ABC News, National Geographic and Science hasn't changed at all. Why have they taken blue surveys away? It takes so long to make enough points to make it worthwhile using Rewardia now days.
Poppett
I love how they offer you a reward or offer to earn 100points if you do surveys that amount to over 1000 points and then make it as hard as hell to get any surveys at all, bit of a scam really, hope you read these discussions Rewardia!!

I just tried to redeem some points from another survey website and they've changed the process yet again. A while back they changed the redeeming process to include phone code (either a text message or a robo-voice call) and now they insanely require you to take a photo of yourself holding your drivers license or ID, which they store on a "secure server" (yeah, right)!! If you don't, you can't redeem any points. I already had to close an account with a different survey site a...
Holly Cat
My neighbor had a site that requested a driver's license and selfie. I was on the same site and never had that request. He sent the survey site an email indicating he was uncomfortable to do that and if there's another way he could confirm his identity, so they actually responded and indicated they would have to send him a check the first time, to be deposited into his bank when he receives it. He agreed and did receive the check and cashed it, and ever since he's had no issues with redeeming his points. I guess what I'm trying to say is email the survey site letting them know you're uncomfortable and see if another solution is offered. I'd hate to see you not be able to redeem your points.

So we've all been there , the room falls silent just as the one child is asking in the shop " "well where do all those dark people come from mummy?" As an only child raised by my grandmother, I never felt the strong connection that others feel with brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles and parents. When we immigrated 3 years ago, I did not feel an ounce of worry or longing to go back to my country of birth. I've never felt homesick at all. Is this normal at all? Has anyone else felt the same way?
Gypsy
I was born in UK. My parents chose a different religion to their familes, and most of both families turned against my parents. Because of that rift I grew up knowing who my grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins were, but not having a very close bond with them. In 1971 my father announced that we were emigrating to Australia. Before we left UK we were told that there was a house ready for us, and jobs for my father and myself. We arrived in "the land of sunshine" in June on a very wet, cold, windy day, there was also no house or jobs, so we had to live in the Pennington Hostel and look for work. That was the only time I felt homesick. As our circumstances improved we were glad we had come. In 2006 I made my first trip back to UK for a 7 week holiday, but then I was happy to return home to Australia, for me 'home' is where my immediate family are.

Today I received notification that my TXT messages are "end-to-end encryption". When I learn more, this mean that noone including Google and third parties can read those messages send it from my phone. So does it mean until today they could? I doubt our text messages from our cell phone are private! I don't understand how anyone else apart from sender and receiver can read it. I am in shock. Did you know that?

Some workplaces offer one lot of sick leave. In New Zealand it's 10 days, after 6 months in the workplace. Some offer dependant leave aswell, ie 10 personal, 10 dependant. What pets do you have and why?
Carolyn7 P
We have a Rottweiler/Labrador mix that is 16 yrs. old. He is very protective of the children. He has PTSD from being present when his former master was murdered. He can't stand fireworks or gunshots. I also have my cat, Sookie who is about 15 yrs. old. She was a rescue left locked in an apartment with no food or water. My Son has his black Calico, Covid Kitty who is about 2 years old. She likes to quarantine in her room, thus the name. My Grandson also has a black Calico kitten about 6 months old named Ruby, AKA, "The Scamp". She likes to sit in my inside potted plants. She was born outside to a wild Mother cat. We also have Red Slider Turtles. Cheech and Chong, Snoop and Selena. We are building a habitat on the side of our house for them. We have them because we love them and they are all family members.

Some parents don't monitor what there children watch and read, what do you think? cause I think it's proper. Our duty as parents is to monitor the PG rating of what our children watch or read, because sometimes what they watch and read control's there behavior and character. We have problems with people sneaking across state borders or lying on their declarations. Three ladies have now brought Covid 19 back into our State after visiting a city which is a massive hot spot. I would actually charge them with manslaughter if anyone dies because of their actions.

Just so happy to live in a state thas has closed borders even if Vics are still trying to get in illegally. Why can't they stay in their own state ??
Those 3 women should be charged regardless and if their actions kill someone then they should be charged with manslaughter.

Would you choose a name for your child (or, if asked to name another's child) simply because it is popular or trendy?
Warrior Woman
PLEASE parents think about your child's future with the name you dump on it. As a teacher it was heartbreaking to see children ridiculed or embarrassed because they had been given 'cute' (at the time) or the names of once popular rock stars or celebrities or 'momentarily' popular names, often misspelt by the parents. Little "Princess", "Rowdy", "Hurricane" or "Feather" suffered and probably still do. Siobhann's mother was not Irish so she spelt it Shivawn and the poor girl had to spell it that way whenever she gave her name instead of the proud Irish way. Then came the popularity for nicknames being the real name so Archibald became Archie, John became Jack and Henry became Harry and even James became just Jimmy and Katherine became plain Kate. Give them the full, proper name so they can have a choice if they just want to be called a nickname rather than stuck with it all their life. Also please consider the name when attached to your surname. I spent a long time talking to classes that it was hurtful to burst out laughing every time poor Poppy Plant and Holly Busch were called. And honestly do people think I have never heard the joke, "What do you call a woman with one leg?"

You have plans for the upcoming weekend and have asked your sibling or close family member to watch your children, 2 under 4 years old. Do you pay the person given that when asking there was no mention of payment and it only being for 3 hours?
Maria B 89860
Labour of love is not a chore. It's like cooking and doing other things for your family or extended family and is acknowledge and thanked in a Birthday or Special Occasion cards. But neither is it forgotten as the children grow to an understanding age they are taught to return the kindness by being helpful to these caring people in as they get older .. mow their lawn and other such things.

When I shop at specific Walmart stores, not all are bad as claimed. I ve been to the upscale ones that are in the neighborhoods of famous American football players and Basketball players, and they look like a mall. Has anyone had any type of account hacked before? We had our Netflix hacked recently, they hacked it and watched few movies and TV shows. If you were hacked what did you do besides change password
Diana A 392333
Both my and my husband's credit card were hacked and instead of doing nothing but cancel the card and have a new one sent out and my money reimbursed by the credit card company. I went on a mission to find out who it was. To cut a long story short, I contacted the merchants and found out the name, address, phone number and e-mail addresses of the two perpetrators and handed it over to police (needless to say I also stopped the goods from being sent out). I then also contacted the local newspaper (The Mercury) and they printed an article on how I was able to track down the hackers, I also wanted to share valuable tips on how people can avoid this from happening to them from the info I got from police. The article was in yesterday's Mercury and took up almost a full page. I also noticed that The Telegraph had the article in digital version too. I urge others to make the effort to do the same, because if no one does anything, these people will know they can do it again and again and always get away with it!

There is so much to be learnt from the elderly. They've lived through wars and journeyed through struggles we couldn't even comprehend. Yet they are almost dismissed by society. It really annoys me.
Cat Claw
When you're elderly, you either become invisible or an irritation. Younger people (and I include those well into their 40's even) become impatient with older people who are stuggling physically. I've seen it at supermarket check-outs all the time, the operator will whizz all the groceries through while the elderly person tries to keep up, then when the elder fumbles around trying to pay, those standing in line start sighing with impatience. I've even seen in family situations, the younger generations laughing or mocking their elders when they are trying to participate in a conversation. The whole 'ok boomer' tagline is the new "you wouldn't understand becuase you are not a parent' putdown that people who don't want to listen use. Eggs are high in cholesterol, but it is good cholesterol and as such eggs are good for you. On the other hand, pairing them with bacon is bad, because bacon is bad for you on a number of fronts. But bacon tastes so good...

During the pandemic, chief health officers and doctors across the world have found themselves being lusted after. In Australia, chief health officer, Brett Sutton has a facebook page dedicated to him, where middle aged women lust after him. Does anyone else find this phenomenon weird?

Economists say that the future could possibly be cashless. But it could be problematic for low-income individuals. Do you think this would work or not ? If so, why?
Bugalugs
I already almost entirely do. I am no techno genius, nerd or particularly "modern" but I find I can manage my money better, I pay all my bills electronically (is that "digitally"?), have numerous accounts (with the same bank) and divide my income between them for specific reasons (Utilities, phone, rates etc.) so the money is always there when a bill is due. All my grocery buying is done using a Debit card.

This breakfast plate is simple, healthy, and balanced. It includes a soft omelette seasoned lightly with pepper and cooked with small pieces of onion for extra flavour. Fresh baby carrots add a nice crunch, while a handful of pistachios gives protein and healthy fats. A small slice of cheese adds richness to the plate, and the meal is completed with a refreshing glass of orange juice. Overall, it s a quick and nutritious morning meal.

Hi Kamana. Easy to make! Healthy! Tasty! I will substitute cranberry juice for orange juice (orange juice is too sweet for me) Furthermore, I appreciate you submitting this breakfast idea. Bon Appetit!

Having just paid, home and contents with the car insurance now due, why do premiums go up between 25% and 50% when I have not made any claims? Do they think I will just accept this and not look elsewhere? Is this happening to others? Why are they so greedy in times of high inflation? Why is there never an inquiry into this practice by insurance companies? Do they need a higher level of scrutiny and accountability? Tracing back some of the underwriters leads...

This is a dish that many people love. Sadly those who are not adventurous will refuse to try it and never realise what they are missing. It takes only a few minutes to prepare. Buy, steal or catch some FRESH tuna. When cleaned or unwrapped, put tuna in a bowl and pour oyster sauce on. Turn the fish from time to time for around 15 to 30 minutes to coat it with the sauce. Throw some sesame seeds into a frypan with a few drops of oil. The sesame seed...

Can anyone out there pass on any good hints to help save some extra cash in these days of poor economy. It is getting extra hard for pensioners to have enough money to buy enough groceries
NotFriedLikeMost
Eat more REAL food...fruits (organic, non-GMO), eggs, beef, sardines/fish.
Stop mindlessly buying THINGS.
I live off a VERY low income, but, I took the time to COMPLETELY reverse my lifestyle. Each month, after my rent is paid and my internet/TV is paid I then live off $85 for every 7 day period. I shop once a week, stick to my budget and eat little to no processed food garbage. I rarely even cook...only when I have steak 4 times a month. I am also peacefully single, no kids, no vehicle, thus, no insurance, gas, expenses. I have no credit cards. I have no subscriptions. I do little to no shopping MINUS the Amazon gift cards I cash out from this site which just replenishes items I get every few months...organic coconut oil for oil pulling, CoQ10, cell salts, moringa powder (for my smoothies), psyllium husk (for my smoothies) and any other things I need here and there.
The key to it all is escaping the mindless consumption mentality. I FORCED this on myself aroun 2012 or so when I sold everyting I owned and, once all the CLUTTER and CRAP was gone...I was there...with nothing, yet, I woke up day and I was alive. Learning gratitude when one has nothing EXCEPT being thankful for being alive each day can truly reset your mentality.
My golden rule...if "society" does things....I do the exact opposite. Same goes for when MSM tells us something...I know the exact opposite (most of the time) is ACTUAL truth PURPOSELY not told to us to keep us enslaved mentally.
Now at 42 years young...life is simple, calm, peaceful, stress free. I am more active, I am actually healthy, I have never been to a doctor since I was 16. I have NEVER had a prescription medication. I have NEVER drank coffee (which DESTROYS your adrenals, thus, your kidneys as well). I GOT sober from alcohol and drugs on my own, doing my own "detox" program which included planned relapse usage in order to have reflective self-therapy sessions in order to actually find the root cause of the NEED to abuse drugs and alcohol, which led to me eventually healing. Healthy lifestyle helps ANY AND ALL addictions, fyi.
Long story short. Keep shit simple. Life is short, so actually LIVE IT on your terms.

Well the good ole MP's have given themselves another pay rise equivalent to a pension or newstart etc. and that's without all the other benefits they receive including millions spent on flights. Aussies are losing their homes, living on the street due to lack or loss of housing, eating less, giving up pets as they cannot afford to feed them, going without heating and or air conditioning, and even a cup of coffee out is off the list for many these days and these trough eaters think...
Bugalugs
Our corrupt and totally Dishonest Federal and State Politicians claim they cannot refuse the massive pay rises the Not-So-Independent Remuneration Commission - it should be remembered that it is Appointed by the Politicians so it is 100% Owned by them, never mind that we, the Taxpayers, are not allowed to know who it is that actually makes up this Remuneration Commission, we can bet it will include former politicians, judges, senior public servants - These massive and totally unjustified Pay Rises do not simply end with Federal Politicians they flow through to the Federal Public Service chiefs, Judiciary, State and Territory politicians and all of their senior Public Servants and the Judiciary. Think on this. There are some Public Servants who are being paid 100s of 1000s more than the Prime Minister, State Premiers and Territory First Ministers!
Our obscene politicians then use that lovely cash to buy countless Residential Properties which they charge ever-increasing rents for and then they Negfatively Gear the lot so that they end up paying NO INCOME TAX at all. It is no wonder that they all oppose any suggestion that Negatively Gearing should be abolished. One ALP, yes a politicians who supposedly represents the Down-trodden Masses, owns so many properties that he oh-so-conveniently forgot to mention that just a few years ago and before the price of housing escalated as it has done recently, he owned one property which was worth OVER ONE MILLION DOLLARS.
These parasites, abolished the old Arbitration Commission, which set OUR wages, but have their Own organisation which sets their wages, it has never, ever refused to grant their annual 3% to 4% Pay rises.
On top of all that cash they also get FREE TRANSPORT to and from work, Free Transport anywhere they want to go. The current Minister for Aboriginal Affairs, Linda Burney chartered a SOLE USE Aircraft to transport her around. The current Prime Minister, Anthony Albanese has spent more time big-noting himself overseas thah he has actually spent in Australia working for Us, and he is about to go on yet another Taxpayer-funded junket. All this expense for the current leader of a country which is almost at the bottom of the list of importance, a very, very minor and insignificant world power. He would rather allow Foreign Troops to be stationed on Australian Soil and doing exactly as the USA tells him than standing up for Australia, his predecessors were/are no different. He wants us to give a very small minority of Australians, less than 4%, Rights and Privilkedges which he refuses to grant the rest of the population. Already thanks to this we have other minority groups within Australian Society who are now demanding that they be granted the same Rights and Privilegdes! If it is good enough for one it is good enough for all.

They are entertained, have company and they have medics on board.

Whatever happened to all cars having a strong steel bumper bar front and back and a thick chassis underneath? Back in the day if you had a crash you can mostly be guaranteed to either drive away or have your car fixed quite quickly with minimal cost. Today have a small bump on the car and it's a completer write-off. Bumper bars and chassis were there for a reason and that reason is safety for the occupants of the car. You may have got a bit shook up but you were never seriously...
Joanne Y 440141
Sure as hell felt safer driving around in my 1957 Chev compared to my 2009 VE Commodore. Older cars were made of real steel and made to last, new cars are just throw away items hence why they have the safety of the air bags etc etc.

Online education offers access to programs for many who can't afford the time or tuition of a traditional degree, but they rely heavily on written assignments and quizzes that AI can easily answer. Can online schools survive in the world of ChatGPT, BingChat etc.?

AI will pose challenges to civilization and people, as did the Industrial Revolution in the 19th Century or the introduction of computers in the workplace. AI is an extension of this, and it will be interesting to see how people and the workplace will change.

I like to go out with friends for a coffee and talk about a variety of topics. Another day I will go to bingo with a family member. Reading is a good pass time in the evening before bed. Walking my dog Jackie Chan every day, no specific times, depending on the weather. I dislike cleaning but it has to be done. shopping twice a week. The computer takes up most of my day. Sad case but I am addicted. The weekend is for visitors or staying in.

A past time I enjoy during the week is going to the library and either participating in one of their classes, activities, or just checking out some DVDs or a good non-fiction title to pick through over the month. They also have a "seed library" for checking out any kind of vegetable or underground seedlings for fruit that you can take and give it a go at home in the garden or if you don't have a garden you can try your hand at some herbs.

I have tried eating at restaurants that specify Gluten Free. I have Coeliac disease and am allergic to Wheat. Almost a week ago I went to a nearby Venue for dinner with friends. I ordered a Barramundi and veg. Gluten free. I was assured twice it was gluten free. Unfortunately in the early hours I experienced abdominal pains in my small and large intestine. Almost 6 days later and I am still in pain. Should there be a thorough investigation into Restaurants to make...
Gigi
That's just plain negligence to advertise your selection as gluten free and have it not turn out to be true. You could have had a worse reaction. Celiac disease can be very distressing if you provoke the symptoms with the wrong food. You must say something to the manager and make him comp you a truly gluten free meal. If not, leave a poor review on their website. But dont just let it go......

Wanted to know if anyone still uses remedies or have remedies they don't mind sharing in the comment for colds & flus, with weather getting so much colder than usually this year? I like to go with good old pumpkin soup but with a few dashes of chilli just to give it a good hot kick :)

Can't go by putting a few drops of eucalyptus oil in a bowl of hot water and putting your head over it, covering yourself with a towel and inhaling deeply for a while. Then off to bed with a hot lemon juice and honey drink. Stay hydrated. Rest up, eat a balanced diet, laugh lots and get some sunshine if you can.
