I feel that too much money leads to corruption which is rampant in our country (US). Perhaps if politicians had to retire at 65 or only serve a limited number of terms, they wouldn't be so wealthy and become corrupted over the years. What if they were paid minimum wage? Would we not have politicians at all, or would we have people who really want to make a difference without being rich and powerful?

So I've lost contact with a friend years ago due to her only being there for me in my good times, not my bad. I'm in a good place now, and she wants to be mates again. Would it be a bad idea to befriend someone like that and give another chance?

Tamz, you are answering your own question. If you have been able to "survive" without this shallow friend in your life continue to do so. She has made contact with you, what could that reason be? Did you recently win the Lotto, is she sick, unwell, and needing support, has she apologized or is there anything to apologize for/ There are just so many questions but my initial reaction is continue on without her.

Now baking and listening to some music whether it's a streaming service such as YouTube or the common radio ( transistor) can be quite therapeutic I find, however the survey probably went on to interview the lucky applicants who were successful on a completely unrelated topic such as bladder leakage !! I would have to say my four kids. Because they are my life. If I'm down and out, all I have to do is look at their precious faces and all my worries goes away. They keep me on my toes. There's never a dull moment with them. They give my life meaning, and they spell out joy for me.

How is it that airlines can get away with dirty water on their planes? Many waters (not bottled) have been tested a d have been found to have bacteria. Sometimes even E. coli. It's no wonder the pilots never drink tea or coffee. Would you risk the water on the plane for their noodle cups? The ice cubes are made in the airport. I used to drink tea (on flights) but no longer. How about you?

The Optus outage affected a lot of people and businesses. Technology has taken over a big part of our lives. The Government is considering a cashless society. If you are watching other people s children, and they seriously misbehave, and you can t just walk away from them for any reason is it ok to discipline another person s child?

Absolutely - You can't let them get away with bad behaviour or they will take full advantage of it and you! Let them know you are in charge and should be respected. If their parents don't like you disciplining them, they don't have to leave them with you. And they probably leave them with you because they can't control them and hope you will teach them some respect.

Many of us are told "Hey you're a natural! Have you ever considered ... as a career?" We're often told to pursue our talents, but is this good advice? Isn't it better to learn how to strengthen our weaknesses, which would offer possibly more of an opportunity for personal growth? How many of us have made a career out of our talents anyway? I was taught to be better 10 minutes early, than one minute late, no matter where you are going, because people who are always late have no respect for anyone. Even for any appointments or interviews, as if you are late, you are going to be stressed & panicking for not being there on time. Does anyone else think the same as me?

It's a petty sad state of affairs when one has to start working at any age. Once 'work' is started in never ends (even in retirement.) We should try and let kids be kids as long as possible because like time itself, once it passes it never comes back.

39 years ago I asked my current wife to join our work indoor cricket team [the twisted kids] ,she did, now 3 kids 3 grandkids so many houses 4 dogs 5 cars,i digress ,my employer of 20 years asked me to talk to my wife about quitting she had just become pregnant with our first, so i quit along with her and we started a cleaning business which went for nearly 34 yours until covid put an end to that,but it was such a good move ,we met a lot of people,so i thank them for there ignorance

My son is 2.5 years old and for health reasons we have to keep him out of daycare. This was easy enough when the weather was nice as we would go to the park/beach, but now it's getting cold and rainy we're often stuck inside. What's your go to rainy day activity for little ones?

You can also put on rainy day wear and go puddle stomping and for walks with the umbrella. Rain doesn't have to be a sentence to the indoors. Walk an indoor mall. They usually have little people areas to climb on soft big animals or ride a little train or carousel indoors. At least the malls in America have those features. Hopefully there too.

As a disabled person who uses a walker and sometimes a wheelchair, I am constantly surprised by the number of people who use the disabled carpark who do not need the extra room for a mobility aid. Their selfishness means I often have to park along way from entrance and in a narrow carpark.

In Gosford NSW...a doctor who was probably late for work at the surgery parked in a disabled car space....there is wonderful security camera footage of a man in a wheelchair very carefully removing all the air from all his tyres...absolute magic....there should be MASSIVE fines for this behaviour....

Long ago they decided that Jesus was a White, Blonde, Blue-eyed adonis because that is how the Christian Churches depicted him when the Truth is he would have had a Brown skin, possibly a dark tan due to his job as a Carpenter, Black hair and those Beautiful dark, brooding Brown eyes so many, if not all, of those natives of that part of the world have.

If you walk down a sidewalk when they fix it, they don t make sure it is level. Store have small lips or steps just before you go into a strip plaza. Malls isles aren t wide enough. Old restaurant do even have to be handicap friendly. How can we fix this problem.

In Armadale we have a shopping centre near us where the whole front pathway of the shops is sloping. It is hairy when trying to negotiate this and feeling like you are going to tip over. One shop in the same suburb is renowned for having boxes and boxes of goods stuck in their aisles. Trying to negotiate this last year, I knocked over a pile of boxes and smashed at least one large ornament and probably more in those boxes. It is so frustrating! Have not been back in there since but have observed from outside the shop that their aisles are slightly better, but far from acceptable yet!. On the other hand my Woolworths in Kelmscott has wide clear aisles free from obstructions. And apart from that, they are always helpful and considerate. Most Woolies shops have the same wide aisles and clear pathways and on behalf of us with wheelchairs, may I say a huge thank you to them. How can we fix the problem - stick all the powers that be in wheelchairs and send them off for a day to shop! Perhaps that might wake them up.
Edit: Wow, I just noticed some of the comments on here and am really gobsmacked! We do not expect perfection, but let me just say that money can be found for many minority groups who are always in the media, we can find money to float a republic, have a debate about putting an first nation voice in parliament, give pay rises to politicians who don't deserve them (some do), and fund hundreds and thousands of dollars worth of fireworks, political lunches and heaps of other selfish causes. But a ramp into a shopping centre or an even entry - wow, aren't we selfish and entitled???!!! Hope some of you don't get to the stage where you face some of the problems we do!

If you decided to build a library of DVD movies...instead of paying a monthly rental service that is mainly doing this for you...what movies would be in your list?....things that you can easily watch again and again and still be amazed by them?... Our house is packed of stuff we don't need. I am really thinking about downsizing the house and also stuff we collected over the years. My spare room is full of stuff we bought online for great price, and we never really used it. And that just made me think how many belongings we need for day by day living? Not sweet and sugary...not ones where all the heroes are small children...not ones you sleep through to keep the kids happy....REAL FAMILY MOVIES...where everyone watched really enjoy them...where ALL of you can watch it several times together, and it is STILL really good?... I to get frustrated by the number of dud surveys and kicking you out for no apparent reason, but since have been on rewardia have withdrawn $900 dollars cash in the last 18 months and are currently sitting on 504 thousand points at the moment. I play when i have spare time and notice seem to get good scoring surveys very early in the morning, and I do work full time (50 hours a week) At the end of the day the way I look at it is you are getting money for...

If the Federal Government would simply ban all Foreign Investment is Housing and scrap Negative Gearing for All Housing this would, reportedly, open up 10s of 1000s of Houses, Flat etc. for rent. It is also reported that those who own Housing - both Foreign and Australian Residents - deliberately keep their properties un-occupied for Tax Purposes. We hear Politicians, the Unions and others constantly complaining about how Multi-National Corporations pay Little or No Tax on their revenues in Australia - Successive Federal Governments - both ALP and Coalition - have failed to close off the mechanisms these organisations use to avoid paying any Tax. But never a word from any of them about the deliberate, but Legal, rorts, scams, cons - call them what you will, used by Politicians, Union Bosses and others to avoid paying tax on their own Housing Properties which they deliberately keep Un-Tenanted. One Federal ALP MP reportedly has $12 million invested in housing - he conveniently "forgot" to list a $1miilion property in his Asset Disclosure Statement to the Federal Parliament and his mates, both ALP and Coalition, in the very same Parliament did NOTHING.
They won't do anything to put a stop to these scams because they are all up to their necks in this sort of Corruption and are Operating a Protection Racket for themselves.

My teeth are falling to pieces and since we were scammed out of $53,500 things have been tough making ends meet, I have asked WINZ 3 times for help but they keep saying you have too much in the bank, we only have enough to cover the mortgage, power, rates etc but no help. If I go to the dentist the only place the money can come from is our food money so I am well and truly stuffed. But they can put people who play the system in emergency accommodation and pay $1,000 a week. Plus help them pay rent arrears and repairs for their last house they trashed!!

On Saturday 21st August 2021, regional Victoria listened to the news at 11am only to be told we are going BACK into lockdown from 1pm that day. That is just 2 hours notice of a lockdown... I feel sorry for restaurant owners who had bought a whole heap of fresh food to serve to customers over this weekend only to be told "Hey mate, you have to throw out thousands of dollars more in food" and then receive a measly compensation which DOES...

In early 2020, the government added salt to the wound of pensioners by giving the unemployed people the "Pandemic Supplement" which doubled the dole payments to $1100 a fortnight for several months, thus being MORE than the average pensioner; AND the government DID NOT give pensioners any "Pandemic Supplement" payments.
Although that salt in the wound made the wound sting, in late 2020, when pensioners were due for another pay rise, the government opened that wound, poured more salt onto it, then rubbed that salt into the wound by REFUSING to give pensioners that payment increase which they were entitled to receive.
Although that additional salt rubbed into the pensioners wound had infected the wound, the government decided that they have NOT caused enough harm to the pensioners and decided to add even more salt to the infected wound by adding insult by announcing in March 2021 that single pensioners will receive a payment increase of $8-40 a fortnight ( $4-20 a week )....which barely buys a cup of coffee.

The police told me that one method most used by hackers is entering people's computers through their MSN...ICQ or YAHOO messengers ....The police advised me to delete all messengers from my computer ..... What is it with parents these days? Odd baby names, whether names spelt wrong or using accepted surnames as first names. Some babies are even stuck with names of fruit or items in nature. Do you listen to songs in other languages? These being languages that you do not speak or understand well (need a translation for). I personally, enjoy listening to songs sung in Aramaic, Russian and Serbian Slavic. My own experience falls into three groups...thinking more about it...group 1 is the "somebody up there likes me" experiences...I've had two of those...they are uplifting, life reaffirming and make you just wonder what is actually going on.....I would have probably been dead without them...twice....group 2 are confused lost or scrambled entities...you can maybe fix these or live with them (two of those)....and Group three probably aren't human at all..things like Plappergeist...I only had one of them...something totally mad and destructive...but after two months it won and I moved out...I wasn't going to let it win...The rent was REALLY cheap...but I needed to sleep somewhere else instead of on the stairs outside my appartment..so it did win in the end...Funny..I can imagine it waving goodbye from the window....also...some folk seem to be more in tune with seeing ghosts or whatever...young female virgins (that counts me out!)...and people of certain star signs..like Pisces and Aquarius...who are at the beginning and end of the cycle....I think that's right?..I just bought a plappergeist on Tenu (they have everything)...they are sending it to Neo...hope she has fun...I used to enjoy the roaring and screaming..the light shows...furniture being dragged about the floor....lights that weren't there coming on or turning off..doors opening and slamming..ahh happy days!....the neighbours downstairs heard all this too...

Well said Alex H. I think Rewardis hss nothing to do with it. Because Rewardia also depends on these research companies for survival by organising this platform. Mostly, it's survey companies who should be serious about how they treat survey takers! They don't have to wait until completion of a survey to disqualify someone. It can be done within the first few minutes of starting it. If they don't follow such rules it's like just taking things easy with the survey takers! This shows the low-quality attitude of such companies!! I have already identified and avoided them as bad contributors for our existence. Receiving 2 points compensation is such an insult when getting booted out of a survey - there should be 40 points minimum and even with surveys at around 1500 if you don't qualify 4 points thats an insult they she compensation should be increased to at least 250 points or a quarter of them. I had a dog that was 8 when she tore a ligament in her back leg . We put her on a product called "biovet joint suplement" mixed into hamburger, within a month she walking on her own six months she was walking up and down stairs again on her own in a yr she was running around almost like when she was young . I think everyone is very naive if they think IT will be the gift to humans. Why do we need it to do our housework or open doors or 1000's of other things we humans can do for ourselves. Yes it can be helpful in operations but controlled by humans just the same. SciFi is coming true as whatever man thinks of he will eventually create and giving AI the tools to teach themselves is a dangerous road to take.
I think scary times are ahead in the future with the scientists just going too far. It is already doing more than delivery of Pizza or cleaning etc. People are talking to them as if they are real live humans and some of these robots actually look very close to that.

I saw a TV show where a woman owned a business and her executive assistant was offered another job and when she found out it was a friend of hers who made the offer, she felt betrayed, but the friend said it was just a good business move, and had nothing to do with their friendship. I m not a prude by any stretch and realise that breastfeeding is a very natural and beautiful thing that shouldn't feel shameful. But in saying that I don't think I'd personally feel the need to put on a breastfeeding exhibition when out in public. I do think some women now do it for attention, posting their breastfeeding pics on Instagram etc.

You can't really compare it to the last time you helped someone. Everyone is different and not everyone will screw you over. If I had enough money to spare I would help my partner provided he's not blowing all his money on drugs, alcohol, gambling etc. and then expecting others to give him money for his necessities.

With my mum in law passing a few weeks ago, the family had the unenviable task of going through her unit to get it ready for sale, as it was in an aged care village.
She kept cards, and the grandkids were going through them, (they are all adults), and found so many from/to their dear 'Pa' that they had sent many years back when they were little (he passed in 1988), and the kids were thrilled to see them & took them home for themselves as keepsakes.
I guess everyone is different, not everyone is sentimental. I feel it's disrespectful to throw them out.
