Do you find it hard to forgive someone that did you wrong? Is it easy for you to apologize when you did wrong to someone else? I find it very hard to forgive someone and I'm a big enough person to apologize to someone if I did wrong.

I’m actually glad this question popped up. So personally, I do not own a pair of the metal glasses and I don’t think I’d really want to. It’s one thing to have our phones tracking everything we say do and are whereabouts what another thing to track exactly where our eyes Look and how much time we spend looking at certain things or if our retina and pupils change when we are looking at certain things topics objects, etc. etc. I find it fascinating that we live in such a futuristic time. I’m sure these things have existed for many years but personally I do not find , a use for them myself. I worked at an optical store for quite a while and Ray band was the company that made the met glasses so they were all the same style which don’t get me wrong. I love Rayban style but personally they’re a lot of money if you break them lose them or something bad happens and I just think it’s extremely invasive And a little bit too much information if you know what I mean. 😢

My husband and I started watching a series that stretches over about 10 seasons. It started really well, but the lead actor left at the end of the first season, then a second cast member left in the second season and another left at the end of the second season. There is now only one original member of the cast and as the cast has changed so has the series which is deeper than it was in the beginning. It is disappointing as we enjoy a story that doesn't contain bad language,...

You are so right! It's getting impossible to find descent shows to watch anymore. The Hallmark Channel still has good shows, and PBS has a lot of good shows like Nova and Nature. BBC also has good shows. All Creatures Great And Small is a good one, and When Calls The Heart on Hallmark. Also National Geographic. Of course, these are in the USA, and I don't know if everyone can access them. I, also, look for shows without violence, cursing and sexual content. I love nature shows! 🥰

Boil spaghetti in salted water until soft, then drain and set aside. In a pan, heat a little oil and saute sliced sausage pieces until lightly browned, bacon then add sliced onions, bell peppers, and a few peas; cook until soft. Add garlic (optional), salt, black pepper, turmeric, cumin, and a little chili powder or sauce for flavor. Toss in the cooked spaghetti and mix well, so everything is coated, adding a splash of pasta water or a bit of oil if needed. Finish with chopped...

What are some comfort foods from your childhood that bring you back to a really good place emotionally? I remember coming home from school, walking down the street with the whipping cold Arctic wind cutting through my skin, walking into the warm Aunt Mavi's home and being greeted with the smell of freshly baked chocolate chip cookies. Boy that woman knew how to cook and make a house a home!

Today, I got a surprise, The male resident magpie lark flew straight up to me when I appeared bleary eyed on the balcony, propped on the railing about 10 feet away and started squawking at me loudly, then eyeballing me for a couple of mins before flying away. He has never done that before.
He has been here since nearly forever with his mate, but last year a hawk snatched her. He chased the hawk across the valley, dive bombing it, but to no avail. He came back the next day and then disappeared for about 6 months, then arrived back with a new mate. They have settled in he quite nicely and the male has resumed his window pecking antics. Hopefully no more hawks will turn up to destroy their new alliance.

My father taught me not to lie when I was 6. It wasn't the speech about how "it's always better to tell the truth" that did it. It was the look of disappointment on his face. I never wanted to see that look again, from anyone. I find being lied to very hard to take, but being lied about is even worse, because if you can't prove otherwise, human nature being what it is, people will always believe the lie. They won't believe you. There's no fun in that. No drama. So...

I charged my son 10% of whatever he was earning. And he was to buy his own toiletries and clothing with his own money. I always put the household bills on the fridge until due date to pay them. Occasionally he would hand over an extra bit here and there when he saw the bill was due. I never asked for that. He did his own laundry and mowed the lawns each second time.He was so good at bringing home an extra bag of groceries to contribute also. I guess it's how you raise them.

I will start by apologising to our American rewardians. Usually I don't comment on specific political figures. That said,I was gobsmacked after reading Donald Trumps solution for the Gazza strip. Does he really think America will be allowed to take control, displace thousands, expect neighbouring countries to take in these people. As well as turn it into a "waterfront paradise". This is getting really scary,if you haven't read the news article or seen him make this statement please watch it. Rumours about Ametica leaving U.N and blatantly ignoring all other country leaders in the Middle East( except Israel). And proclaiming he will be the unifying force for the Middle East. One word comes to mind "Crazy". Again this probably won't be a popular comment among rewardians ,I say this out of deep concern .

In short, the Second Amendment states that as an American citizen, you have the individual right to arm yourself. The amendment also firmly establishes that the government cannot infringe on that right. Why should our guns be taken when there is so much more going on in the world? No one should have any Firearms that has a Criminal record for a start. There is no need for anyone to own a firearm that doesn't work in Law Enforcement or a Security Officer or a Registered Collector or a licenced hunter or a Farmer. Here in Australia we don't have kids Murdered that are going to school or at school. One trip to America I got stopped by Police in Ca, the first thing the officer said was, how many guns do you have and where are they ? The other officer had his gun in his hand. I said "We are Aussies why would we want guns ? He said "your not from Texas then" I said "We are from Australia we don't have guns" The 2nd Officer put his gun away. The issue was the number plates on the hire car were from Texas.

I was reading a story where 1 YouTuber is in court and the Supreme Court in Florida is looking into censorship on social media. As much as I hate social media, I thought freedom of speech was part of the First Amendment. To me this is a big deal, I also wonder why mainstream media isn't mentioned in this case, is mainstream media already censored we know generally it is, are you worried by this
Teri 1282723
I believe all media is already censored. From what we hear on the radio to what kids are allowed to read in schools, we surely don't hear the truth about vaccinations and what's good for us to eat. Big oil, big pharma and big food. They mislead us with fake shortages in gas or food so prices go up and keep making them richer, big food is in bed with big pharma because if our food can make us sick we need to be on drugs for life. For example, diabetes. How many people suffer from heart disease because the Heart & Stroke foundation put red meat on their recommended diet website? They totally contradict themselves. How many people in food and drug safety are actually investors in the meat, product, dairy, etc. industries... and let infractions go ALL the time?!! We're censored from A to Z. I saw a documentary on Netflix where this company was allowed to sell children's pyjamas knowing they were full of chemicals that were quite flammable. They got away with it because the list of their chemicals was under the heading of 'secret formula' and kids died because of it. The chemicals and 'flammable' weren't required to be put on the warning label. They had to warn that the bag they came in could be a choking or suffocation risk, but not that the pyjamas themselves would kill or seriously harm your child if they got close to a flame. It's crazy what we don't know because 'they' don't have to tell us.
As far as social media goes, YES, there should be censorship when it comes to bullying or lying. But, NO, when it comes to Mark Zuckerberg getting away with censoring what people were able to read and forward during covid. Pretty much only things Gates and Fauci wanted people to read was allowed to be spread, and Zuckerberg made multi-billions because of it.

A Melbourne school has bought in a puffer jacket for school children. Great except for one thing. On one arm they have the Aboriginal Flag which is fine but on the other arm they have the Gay Pride Flag which is onerous. Where is the Australian Flag - NO WHERE TO BE SEEN. Why bring this issue into our primary schools. Admittedly the puffer jacket is optional at $90 odd dollars but would have been great for the kids as it is so cold in...
Teri 1282723
Linda C., you and others like you are exactly why things like this are being done. We need to teach our kids, whatever their ages, that there are people different from the ones you teach them to accept and care for. Plus, Liane H. describes this jacket in a lot more detail than you have. It says a lot about acceptance and doing your best. Plus, it's optional whether to buy it or not.
I believe we all must accept and appreciate the differences in those around us....whether colour, religion, sexual identity/orientation, age, etc. We are all created equal, nobody is better than anybody else. LGBTQ+ people do not decide to be in their community - they just are. I know some people experiment just for fun, or out of confusion, but the vast majority are born who they are; just like you were born as you are. People like you are so judgmental and missing out on some of the best relationships they could have had because of your far-right-extremism closes those doors. I can only imagine the pain and loneliness of someone born into the wrong sexed body. Or a young person afraid of being disowned for revealing their true self, or shot or beaten to death because of who they love. Or going to Hell if they're gay because that's what they're taught in church. Or being shot up in a nightclub. There is so much fear of not being accepted that many suffer in silence. AND THIS IS WHY THESE JACKETS ARE SHOWING THEM THEY ARE LOVED AND ACCEPTED FOR WHO THEY ARE!! The woke movement has NOT gone too far; we are just getting started in educating closed-minded people like you. And your kids are learning to be better humans than you've taught them to be. Your far-right extremism makes us wonder what ever happened to love your neighbour as yourself and treat others the way you want to be treated?

When you buy a product or service, you expect to either receive what you pay for or get a refund or exchange when you do not so how is it legal that airlines and accommodation sites (for example) are not required to give you a refund when they have not provided you with a service you have paid for? If you have paid for a flight or a stay (or both) and the service is either not provided or cancelled by them, that they do not have to refund you for services not provided? This would...

Laws in New Zealand have become a little more sympathetic to the idea of persons not wanting to continue living. On what grounds do you believe that euthanasia should be permitted?
WonkyandProud
I am really surprised at the comments below, and I agree whole-heartedly. I saw with my own eyes my father struggling to get out of this world! He had absolutely no rights! In my eyes, he was tortured more than any animal would EVER be allowed to be tortured. He had prostate cancer that led to bone cancer which I heard is the most painful of all cancers, and I believe that to be true! He was a gentle soul his whole life. He made trouble for no one, was a great husband, father, grand-father and provider! His family was all he cared about. For the last two years of his life, he was in the hospital more than he was out. They even castrated him to give him a couple more months of life. The family misunderstood and thought it would give him a couple more years! My mother was devastated at the thought of it. They took even his manhood from him. He had nothing left! All he asked for was to be able to sit down at the dinner table one more time! He never complained except when the pain was unbearable for even the strongest of men! I heard him scream in pain and felt so helpless. My heart was shattered! My sisters stood outside his door while the urologist tried to insert a catheter. There was no room for one because of the tumors! My dad cried out in pain as the doctor attempted to force the catheter into somewhere it couldn't go! I heard him scream then they took him out of bed for the last time. My mother and I looked into his pitiful eyes as he begged for someone to shoot him! I'll never forget that day! Because of it, I am not the same. I know it has produced PTSD in me in some form. He could NOT do a damned thing to end his pain--nothing!!! He was at the mercy of those who kept giving him treatment for something that could not longer be treated just to get that almighty dollar at the price of my dad's suffering! Looking back, I wish I had sued them for torturing him! I found out recently that he had also asked his grandson to shoot him! I doubt I could have pulled the trigger because I was his youngest daughter, and the light of his life. Maybe for that reason, I should have. Prison time would have been worth it to know I had done the ethical thing! After he finally, died, he looked absolutely gorgeous! His hair had come in curly, and he looked like he had never been sick a day in his life! That was the dad that I longed to see all of that time he was sick. Yes, his mental capacity was stable, he knew there was only one end, and he was a Christian wanting to be with the Lord! The tears flow as I write this! No family should ever have to go through this! Please get this legislation passed. We don't want our animals to suffer, but we let people suffer! Don't love animals more than your family!!! PLEASE!!!

Are you certain that as you walk amongst people you believe we are all equal regardless of race, colour and beliefs. That their opinions and beliefs are equally important as your. Do you have an open mind and respect the person nest to you? Can you be a person with no hate or resentment? Terry 1443234
Please, look at the Statue of Liberty and the sea level around it, hasn’t changed in over 50 years. Al Gore said the polar bears would be extinct in 2012, nope. Ice caps in some areas have actually increased. 500 wildfires in British Columbia in the summer of 2023, 450 were set by climate activists trying to claim the fires were caused by climate change. The arsonists have been charged, some have been convicted, others still awaiting trail. Mainstream media refusing to cover this. There hasn’t been one climate change claim that has been proven as fact in the past 100 years, remember the ozone layer and the attempted fear with that story?

Absolutely not, It has to be a personal choice My body my choice There are people for health reasons who cannot have vaccines of various types and there are others with deep religious reasons who can back their belief up with scripture. There are a lot of natural things to keep from getting sick and if sick to recover quickly even if one is elderly or has a weak immune system. Even if it "Allegedly" might endanger someone else it is still the moral and ethical right to refuse vaccines or other medicine or procedures. You cannot mandate one law for one group and refuse the same right to another group. Be it Vaccines, Medical surgeries or vaccines etc.

Do you think Rewardia members have a right to be downright rude to or make fun of other members opinions they share in the daily discussion forums? Or should there be respect for any answer or opinion shared, whether you agree with it or not?
Glen O 298805
Define what you consider rude. Respect is earned not granted. If someone has a ridiculous opinion they deserve ridicule. Lets face it some opinions are illegal, immoral, unethical and downright wrong. I will not respect such opinions.
Having an opinion that the Earth is flat or humans were alive alongside dinosaurs will not get my respect just for starter examples. I believe most people here would not respect some ones opinion that say one race is superior to another. A mantra I live with is when arguing with an idiot make sure the other person isn't doing the same.

What is it about men and their use of noisy garden tools like chain saws and leaf blowers? I m aware that I m making a huge generalisation here, but the vast majority of people who use these things are male, and I genuinely don t understand why it s necessary to rev these machines in the downtimes, when they re not actually doing anything productive. Please explain?

I'll make a another huge generalisation on why men use garden tools - nagging partners too lazy to do it themselves.

A fair while ago now... Australian scientists discovered that feeding a limited amount of a certain seaweed to cows stopped them from burping and farting...and nothing happened (it has just been rediscovered in the UK!!)...we have a functioning pig farm that is carbon NEGATIVE...it generates all its own power AND supplies the grid...why aren't they all like that?...we already have a paint that actively removes carbon from the atmosphere...breaking it...
Andrea R 192957
This is all BS. Climate change is created by elites in private jets to bring about your obedience due to fear. You've never even been on a farm I would guess. They don't want farms they want to feed you insects instead. Wake up.

Is it ever OK to gaslight someone you say you love absolutely not so then why after 10 yrs of marriage my husband started gaslighting me ... do i think he's cheating
Whitehawk
Gaslighting is a form of psychological manipulation and emotional abuse. The manipulator deliberately distorts the truth, denying facts or the victim's feelings, to make the victim doubt their own memory, perception, or sanity. The ultimate goal is to gain power and control

I was surprised, no, shocked to see that the majority think schools should supply free lunches to every student! They are Schools for learning, not Babysitters who feed everyone! ;-(
Also, I've seen firsthand how much the kids waste at school. I watched one young man throw in a garbage can a beautifully made submarine sandwich just because he didn't "like it". ;-(

It is all over the news lately that the President of the USA wants to annex Canada. I think this is taking it a little too far in his dream of conquering the world. Canada may not be as populated as the USA, however, it can hold its own. Canada has participated in many improvements over the years, and it is well liked all over the world. Everyone wants to wear a Canadian patch when they are visiting overseas.
WonkyandProud
I am an American, and I did NOT vote for Trump and will not bow down to him! Many of us are outrage and are protesting against this. It is all over YouTube that Americans are on the side of the Canadians. We support you, and I feel I should cross the border to Canada and fight the US to defend you. However, I love my country, but this is not the country thopat I am proud of. You would not believe the people who are Trump supporters and thinks he is accomplishing great things! He cares only for himself and his power. We are terrified! We love Canada, but we are stuck in the middle and if war breaks out, we could be killed for what we don't even believe in. He thinks presidents do not have to abide by the law, and he can rreign as he wishes. Our only hope is that the people and congress stops him! He has already ruined our reputation. I called him Hitler because Hitler had followers also with mind control or whatever the government is using to control them! Their common sense is gone. There is no way Trump could get elected by people with good judgment with all the things he said during his campaign. He insulted women, blacks, Jews, immigrans and veterans. Virtually anyone that he thinks isn't as wonderful as he thinks he is. I even saw a picture of him with a crown! I will not be ruled. We are losing our rights, and he appointed Elon Musk to audit the government so he has access to everyone's personal information! I did NOT vote for that. They don't care what the average person wants. You should read Project 25! They even wanted to monitor women's menstrual cycles! How scary is that, and supposedly he won the election! I have a friend who read Project 25, and saw nothing wrong with it! When push comes to shove, he backs down, but the damage is done because Canada now hates the US! We need Canada and love Canada and the peaceful decades we have had with Canada! My dad said years and years ago that Canada has never caused problems! That is a huge benefit being so close to us. Trump has lost his mind, and everyone is afraid because he would have his "people" do his dirty for him and keep his own hands clean. However, he has so much blood on his hands that it boggles my mind. If he hadn't run for president, he would be in prison! That's who we voted into office, or did we? He was not going to lose, and we all know with his money and power, he couldn't lose! I am so sick of all the chaos that started on day one. If was the same way in his previous term. Everyday he bitched about something and how bad he's treated. Now he wants revenge and doesn't care about Ukraine and in his mind, the Panama Canal is now the American Canal. We have no legal right to it, and it is not run by China! He's nuts, but tomorrow it will be a whole different story! You can tell how upset I am, and I'm sure people are turning over in their graves. I'm 72 with no children so I don't fear anything he can do to me. People with children should consider moving...seriously! I could write page after page, but it's all out their on the Meidas Touch on their website and YouTube. Trump's neice Mary Trump has a podcast against her uncle. That's pretty bad! We need to band together and fight if need be. I can't see everything I'd like to say, but you can guess what I'm thinking. Congress better see the light and do something. He blames everything bad on everyone else and everything good is because of what has done. It's all lies! I've been praying for the world. It is not a US problem, but a worldwide one. People in power don't care about us poor people. Look at other countries with dicators. They were moving here, but they probably won't now. Immigration problem solved! Great tactic, Trump! Make the US so horrible no immigrants will move here! What an ass!!!

I often wonder why a lot of them talk about loneliness especially among older community! If you really analyse, what is loneliness, it gives you several answers! One is fear of facing by yourself, another is unable to think what supposed to be done with one s time, and the other is someone needs another person to sit around and chat to them. If we can get over these 3 elements using our mental faculties to work on something better, there won t be any loneliness feelings I...
BLM
There is a big difference between alone and lonely (and you are deliberately mixing the two of 'them'). ALONE refers to the physical state of being by oneself, which can be a neutral or even positive experience. LONELY, on the other hand describes a feeling of sadness or isolation that rises from a lack of social connection or emotional support. FYI: You completely 'lost me' when you used the word THEM in your SCENARIO!

Not the big achievements - the small, almost-invisible wins. Maybe you handled a tricky moment with more patience than usual, fixed something you ve been putting off, made someone smile, or simply got through a hard day. Everyone has at least one quite win, even if it doesn't look impressive from the outside. What was yours?

I recently read a book written by groundbreaking psychiatrist Dr Brian Weiss titled 'Many lives, Many masters.' In short the books talks about reincarnation, past lives and miracles and how he came to practice past life regression therapy. I started looking for a serious hypnosis therapist to search my previous lives. Does anyone have an idea about hypnosis and regression therapy? Any experience you would like to share?

Don't got there. Turn your life over to Jesus Christ. He died for your sins and when you become a child of God Almighty you will have Heaven too.
Read your Holy Bible and get Born Again. Don't wait too long or you will miss Heaven all together. Then where will you spend eternity??? One life to live and then Judgement. PLEASE heed, Salvation is today.

Just seen an advert for vegan dog food....are they serious?.. I suspect that dog food is mostly made up of all scraps and weird bits of animals that might be thrown away otherwise....if you want to be vegan that's fine... I'm not too happy about you making your children vegans...but it appears to be still legal at the moment...but PLEASE just leave your dog to live a long happy and healthy life...or just don't have a dog in the first place...it's not a fashion accessory...

I am what Linda C will be calling a fool, and proud of it. I haven't eaten meat or meat-based gravy in over 20 years. I stopped eating it because when I started working in a major grocery store I saw how much meat was being sold. I looked into where it was all coming from and discovered factory farming, and what really happens in growing/feed lots, on factory farms, inside and outside of slaughterhouses and the crowding, freezing or extremely hot conditions in the packed trucks to go from 'farm' to slaughterhouse, how cruel the people are to the animals in all of these places. I've read one person's account while getting information working at a slaughterhouse and he said he was witness to cows being pulled by machine after freezing noses and even thighs to the side of these trucks. Yes, noses and thighs were left frozen and stuck to the sides of the trucks and living cows were pulled out. Sick and injured and unable to walk cows are pushed into the slaughterhouses with bulldozers and fed to you. They are called "downers". NO, there is NOT someone going in and making sure the animals are treated kindly or respectfully. Nobody makes sure the animals are even dead before the screaming pigs are dunked in scalding water to get the little hairs off your bacon, or before cows are sliced into. The stunners don't often work the first - and only - time and the animals are 'processed' so many per hour they don't have the time to make sure an animal is dead or unconscious. A LOT of them are feeling the pain. A LOT of them see the pain and fear of what's happening in front of them and knowing they're next in line. It's truly horrific!!!! And I will NOT BE A PART OF THAT CRUELTY!!
The dairy industry is almost as cruel with chickens being crowded to death. For meat or for eggs. They live in battery cages where they can't move unless they all move at the same time, or 'free range' barns where you're shown pictures of baby chicks with lots of room but unless you look for it you don't see how crowded they really are when they're all close to slaughter age. Super-size-them-fast so their skin explodes and dead birds are thrown out every day because of that. Cows being made pregnant and making babies so they make milk. Those babies are taken away immediately after being birthed while the mothers scream for them. Videos show men throwing said calves to hurt their legs so they can't run back to the mothers. And what happens to all these babies?? Yes, they are killed. These milking cows are fed hormones to make them give 5 times the normal amount of milk.
There is so much pain in the dairy industry emotional and physical.
THINK ABOUT WHERE YOUR FOOD REALLY COMES FROM AND STOP PRETENDING IT'S OKAY.

I get often asked, when I'm in town, if I have spare change. I get asked by beggars. Now, I'm usually one who would spare change if I have it :). Like to do a good deed now and then. Yet lately I've noticed these beggars smoke cigarettes all the time.....so how is it they can afford cigarettes but don't want to put money towards food etc....

When I was still working in the city and had to go to work early each day I came across this guy that was hanging around the traffic lights near my place. When the lights were red he would run around from car to car asking for $20 for food and a train fare. I saw people give him money. After about the 3rd day when he was still there harassing people for money, I got out of my car and threatened to thump him if he asked me again. He swore profusely at me, threatening to call the cops on me, then told me he didn’t need my stinking cash as he had plenty already. He pulled a roll of twenties out of his pocket and waved them at me. Judging by the size of that roll there must have been about 2 grand in there.. After that he never turned up at those lights anymore.

What a difference in today's society, compared to the olden way of life. People of today, were clothes that they really don't fit them properly. We never used to have today's fashion that jeans worn torn/ripped, Pants when you bend shows your bum crack, tops are so short & overweight people still want to wear them or so low cut that your boobs are about to fall out. Skirts/dress so tight & short, not made for heavier people. Don't people realize what impression this...
Bex
Wow, that is extremely judgemental. If a heavy woman wants to wear a skirt, a bikini, or a midriff top, more power to her. Stop the body shaming, and let people wear what they want. If you don't like it, look away.

Has political correctness gotten to a stage where it is more harmful to society than it is helpful. Everyone seems to be so easily offended by the most silliest of things and people seem to be bending over backwards to appease what are often minority groups.

It is not political correctness that got us in this MESS - it is racism and sexism that got us in this MESS!! Everybody says honest is the BEST policy - but nobody actually practices honesty.

When I first started here I was making pretty good money. There were always lots of surveys, some pretty high paying. Used to get a few Blue Survey's everyday as well. Actually made over $10 one day, was on a roll. Now it is a absolute joke. Hardly ever any Blue Survey's anymore. Not much else otherwise and if there is, they are ridiculously low paying mostly now. Also am getting screened out more than ever. Lucky to make $1 a day. What a shame.

How can you be screened out after you've finished a survey, that means the survey isn't honest because obviously they don't like my answers!

When you're using public transport, regardless of where you hop on from, I believe you should be dressed appropriately out of respect for other people and children. If you're near a beach area, these days especially, some people - particularly women - feel it s acceptable to hop on public transport wearing just a bikini. This is rude and embarrassing for whoever has to see it. There are so many quick cover garments you can throw on, like a beach top or dress, etc. There s no...
Norman PSBHRJ
I don't agree with this discussion, people wear what they wear, if you don't like it, stay off public transport. I wouldn't mind at all. Everybody has the right to wear what they want. People are just to effended these days. I enjoy looking at people and I don't judge them by what they wear or lack of. I don't judge people period. If you don't like what people wear in public then the problem is not them, it's you.

Hi I would like to discuss climate change, I am really sorry for bringing up this topic, I realise everybody is sick of all the news about this problem, but if man does not get it together in this lifetime recycle, garbage in our oceans, littering, cutting down our beautiful forests just to built luxury homes, protect our waterways for our water fowl, just think about what we are leaving the next generation GOOD LUCK with that.

I believe climate change us being blown out of proportion. Yes there are some issues tha definitely need to be addressed but it's not the gloom and doom certain people are saying. Look at the Al Gores yhe John Kerry's and the Leonardo De Caprios. They go around in their private jet's burning mor fossil fuels the u can imagine.period.

We used to have milk bottles that were washed out, refilled and used for years (delivered on electric floats to your door) TVs, fridges, computers, household appliances ... shoes and clothes ... that were easy to repair and lasted for many years, if not forever. Now we have very cheaply made rubbish (often from our friends in China) that has to be thrown away when it stops working or wears out ... it is either impossible to fix or just massively cheaper to buy a new one...
Rod R 101788
The 2 are not necessarily the same things. Many houses used to reuse supermarket shopping bags as rubbish bags. Now we buy rubbish bags that can be made of recycled materials but still can't be recycled.
The laminate on the kitchen & bathroom benches in the house we rent are fading where they get wet, but my parents' kitchen benches were solid wood & lasted for more than 40 years.
I still use my Dads electric drill & it still works because the only plastic parts are the trigger & handle cover. It has outlasted 2 rechargeable drills.
The handsaw I use has a wooden handle & I sharpen the blade with a file.
Apparently I recently "upcycled" an old solid wood door we bought to replace a broken modern one. It's still being used as a door - it's been refurbished & reused, same as my Grandmothers' dresser made in 1908.
Some things are made to last & some aren't, it's all about money, sometimes for multi-national multi-million dollar companies yet most people reading this rant aren't millionaires.

I can't talk about everyone, I can talk only about myself. Marriage has proven itself as a dangerous institution to me. It puts me in a situation in which my boundaries are not honoured, and I lose control over my salary, I am expected to accept someone else s religion, and do everything he says. But my needs are not respected. Men claim ownership on me what I marry them. It feels like I sign my rights away when I get married. What is your experience? Why people don't believe...

I am unhappy about some people in there that think that everyone has to say congrats, well done, etc. Some people just want to sit and play without chatting. You think it's rude that if someone does not acknowledge your win, you take offence. YOU!! DO NOT know what is going on in someone's life. Maybe they can't type, maybe they are shy, maybe they have a mental illness you know nothing of. To turn sour on someone just because they do not comment is just plain...

Has anyone got stories this? Or I am the only one?

I have no experience with Emergency Department, but they are understaffed and underpaid. The fault lies with the government and has for years; it took Covid to bring it to everyone's attention. They do the best with what's available. Sorry for your experience but it happens every day.

Based on recent data from early 2026, New Zealand households are experiencing high levels of financial pressure, with nearly half (49%) reporting more pressure than usual at the start of the year. How is it where you live? What's your household's current level of financial pressure?

I hope this Middle East war doesn't go on for too much longer as this is affecting prices and causing pressure for so many, particularly farmers and the transport industry. Our household feels pressure when the stock market falls and so does our superannuation.

Over the years I have seen servers in restaurants being treated badly by the patrons, and often for no good reason. And yes, there are those servers that obviously don't care if your food arrives cold or even if it arrives at all. But there are a lot of good ones that do the best they can under difficult circumstances. My husband would always go out of his way to single out these people and let them know that they were appreciated. Once in Vegas we watched a poor kid...

Working with the general public is a thankless job the majority of the time. But it takes only one person to notice you and give you some words of appreciation to make your day. I have been retired for 6 years and every day is now a holiday for me. If I feel like going out I can, but if I am too tired I just stay at home and relax and work on increasing my Rewardia points. I am hoping to earn enough to buy a large screen TV.

Long term changes of constant scrolling include eye strain, brain fatigue, difficulty focusing, and a negative effect on sleep. So, why did our grandparents start doomscrolling?
Nel
Almost all scrolling on the phone aren’t doomscrolling Nafka! Except a few negative effects, there are heaps of positive benefits of this act! Knowledge seeking, creativity, meeting like minded people, expressing ideas, and experiencing professional content you never came across before are some of the positives! For any elderly person, it’s far better time being spent meaningfully (whether it’s night or day) than logically, I believe! Especially, at your mature age there are no hard and fast rules to be followed! It’s your time and your law! No one can dictate terms to them! Most of their stressors generate positive energy which helps more brain power and a greater awareness in them! 😀

This sounds like incoherent rambling to me, like an old man yelling at a cloud. Times are always a-changing. I get that the older you get, the harder it may get to adapt, but if you're having challenges to adapt, there's younger family to help you out, most likely. Not all of us "younger folk" are arrogant or too dependent on our phones, I have one but I can get by without it too.

Should Nuclear be in the mix for our energy moving forward? The debate over nuclear power's role in our energy future is far from settled. Proponents highlight its reliability and low-carbon emissions, while critics raise concerns about safety, waste disposal, and the potential for nuclear proliferation. As we grapple with the urgent need to address climate change, the question of whether to include nuclear power in the energy mix becomes increasingly complex.
Eric 1286034
My take, global warming is a political way by our politicians to collect taxes, started with Gore over two decades ago with all his scare tactics, that truly never happened, because I believe God put all these energy resources for us humans to survive, period, we just had to figure it all out., nothing to do with politics or fear.
Anything Gore said, has never happened, these frauds will always scare the masses. God will protect us if we get back to Him, and believe, this is what I believe, but people are afraid, thank you for allowing me to express my opinion, Eric.

My husband and I have been married 28 years. Recently, he ended up in the hospital due to medical issues and a serious fall due to low sodium. After leaving the hospital, he had to go into a rehab facility for physical therapy. Sometimes I wonder why I can't just change my life I lost my dad 9 years ago due to cancer and just a year ago my younger brother took his life because of cancer he couldn't stand the thought of his kids seeing him in pain and really sick life our dad was. I wonder why god didn't take me instead or why he can't take the bad people, why the great ones. I guess it's a mystery that I will never understand. My life is like a lifetime movie no joke and I have tried changing it, but...

We will understand God's plan for each of us in due time. That time isn't now. You need to rely on your faith in God and realize he's not the bad guy. On the contrary. God knows and loves us and will have us understand everything in due time. This life is a testing ground for us to grow and learn and to learn to control our bodies and souls. You aren't the only one who has lost loved ones, young and old. We'll understand when the time is right. We aren't God. We don't decide. It hurts and God will make it right when the time comes and is His decision. Kudos for sharing heartbreaking experiences. We all have them.

Yesterday, there were 4 deer here, would have been so easy to get, however, an elder friend of ours came today, don't see any deer anywhere today. The four yesterday were not afraid at all, they ate here all day, but today the guy is here, and we have not seen a deer all day. Are the deer intelligent or what?
BLM
Hi Debra D 624780. Should there 'still' be a deer hunting season...NO. Unfortunately, human beings have not evolved from our hunter-gather past as deer hunting season is unnecessary and inhuman at this point in humans' fight for survival on this planet. However, I have a bias viewpoint. I am 95% to 99% of the time (when it comes to food) - a VEGAN!

Regarding the elderly people, should they have a donated time slot to do their shopping? In me opinion definitely no, but I can t believe the polls are asking normal people in a survey to separate the elderly, because they are slow and very talkative, which slows everyone else through the isles and checkouts. To me, this is really discrimination for them. This people need to be treated with respect at all times. We all will be in this position one day. How would you feel if...

Equality has NEVER existed on this planet - you will FACE some form of discrimination (ageism, racism, sexism, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, lack of religious beliefs, social economic status, etc.) - before you DIE on this planet!

Recently I bought a shirt. As usual, there was a spare button attached. It had me wondering, in this day and age, how many people still would use this feature. Is it mandated? Would it be better to not include this feature and pass on the savings, seeing that the percentage would be quite low.
Nite-Owl
I don't think I ever needed that spare one, but I have several in my 'button box'. (I'm 75) I think most young adults today haven't been taught or wouldn't have the slightest notion or knowledge to sew a button on. It's a throw away society. Very sad.

In the past five years, I've noticed my city has become more populated. It is causing congestion with traffic. Also, the grocery stores are over packed, and I'm finding that the foods I usually purchase are becoming less available. Is anyone else living in the Hamilton area noticing this?
Benz
The elites can make you believe anything when they claim to control almost every global media outlet.
The flood of migrants is a deliberate method of the elite to cause division amongst people so they fight one another.
Why would they want this?
They want you so distracted with all the problems like cost of living, housing crisis, business failures, destruction of the food chain, global warming lies, overpopulation so they can take your land and then lock you up in "smart cities/prisons".
These smart cities are run by Artificial intelligence and track and trace your every move to ensure you exist within their strict carbon efficient guidelines every second of your life.
If you step out of line you will be punshished through the digital social credit system. They may choose to reduce your food allowance, travel restrictions or maybe force you to be re-educated in a strict facility......who knows?
These smart cities are already in operation in China.

My granddaughter and I pick up rubbish, and I also taught my children to do it when we were younger. I believe it s each person s responsibility to keep the community clean and look after the environment and also because it is polluting our environment. If u buy yourself treats make sure the rubbish goes in the bin and treats our community right too!
Grew
Is this even a question? It's a no brainer...I've recycled since I was a child. I'm now 48 always have always will do. My family does the same. It's a privilege to walk on this earth we should treat it as such. Just my opinion

I'm a 60-year-old grandfather and along with my wife we share guardianship of our 3 grandchildren with my daughter, we have a total of 8 living in a 4 bedroom, our house is uncharted chaos, every day is a new direction, and we 2 people high on the autistic spectrum one is 6 and 1 is 40, my daughter has a tumour in the brain, there are multiple issues we deal with daily, my problem is this why do people say how do you cope, why do you live in chaos, why do you...

I take my hat off to you. There is no way I could do what you do. I find it hard managing life on my own. I’m 44, left home at 15 as soon as I could. Home and family life was intolerable. Constantly being told that I wasn’t wanted. Lots of violence and disharmony. I thought I I’d be truly over it by now but without the proper and normal support networks, it’s really hard. I have to keep telling myself that life could be a lot worse. I feel lucky that I’m in Australia and not in some war torn or dirt poor country. I just feel like my upbringing has left a lifelong legacy on me that is insurmountable and affects every facet of my life. Deep self esteem issues and feeling like everyone hates you. As they say, what doesn’t break you makes you stronger. Thanks for reading. Cheers

I know books aren't as popular perhaps as they were...and it shows in people's spelling and the horrible typesetting elsewhere...so how about setting up a list of the best books you have ever read...so that everyone else never misses out by accident? I'll start you off..... John Kennedy Toole wrote a comic novel...and in the "old days" there was no self-publishing...so he sent the manuscript to loads of publishers...who all rejected it...and in the end the poor man killed...

The younger generation is not having morals, values. They have less manners, they have lesser empathy but they feel entitled for everything. If they don't get things according to their way they get frustrated easily. We need to urgently look into this.
Woodster
I agree there are some youngsters who are like that but I don't think you can generalise. I know many young people who do not behave in that way at all and I believe that is because of good parenting. If parents can't teach values and good manners to their children, or can't be bothered to, then it is no surprise their kids turn out in the way you describe.

I was thinking about the "struggle" of having to rewind a VHS tape before returning it or waiting for a favorite song to finally come on the radio so you could record it. What s a specific memory or object from your younger years that would completely baffle a kid born in 2024?
Brick
No computers, no mobiles, no colour TV's, getting the strap if you were lippy to your parents or cheeky to other adults.

A survey shows for 21 percent of people, their resolution is saving money, making it the most popular goal for 2025. Nineteen percent aim to eat healthier and 17 percent seek to exercise more. Do you plan to make a New Year s resolution for 2026?

We have always instilled the best possible manners in our children, however continue to notice a decline in the use of manners and chivalry that men should have and show to women, despite a so-called equal society. Please let me know if do you still believe manners have a place to play in today's society. Many thanks!
NotFriedLikeMost
Have you been awake the last decade?!?! Men got DEMONIZED for taking interest in women...now, women realizing they were WRONG...they are whining why MEN won't acknowledge them anymore.
Has nothing to do with the decline of manners or chivalry, and EVERYTHING to do with the radical leftist feminist brainwashing lots of women have undergone the last decade or so, conditioning them to be narcissistic sociopaths, degrading men at every opportunity and chastising men at every chance when they took an interest in them. Men couldn't even LOOK at a woman for a decade without that woman ASSUMING he wanted to do something evil to her, and, naturally, they posted these all online for the world to see, to justify their delusions.
Great men are everywhere...sadly, MANY great men are simply DONE with women, thus, they don't get the OPPORTUNITY to experience kindness, chivalry and manners FROM these men. They made their bed, now THEY are laying in it.
p.s. Even though this is the overwhelming truth, I personally still hold doors open for women, assist if needed, smile IF THEY look at me and so on...but, I do ALL of this because I am kind, but, I also do it WITHOUT HAVING ANY EXPECTATION OF IT BEING ACKNOWLEDGED.

In 1985 most people would have not known what Gluten was or lactose...or A2 protein...they all drank normal dairy products...ate peanuts...and nobody died...AND now there are a massive range of problems that we have ...what is going on?...no-one seems to question all these new health problems...are they real?...
Timtam
Allergies didn't just 'appear' spontaneously after 1985. Simply because you don't know anyone who was allergic to nuts or had coeliacs before that time doesn't mean they didn't exist.
Better medical diagnostics has certainly made diagnosis easier, so people who had been sick all their lives now had a name for their condition & guidelines for how to avoid symptoms from occurring. My friend is 58 & has been coeliac all her life, as well as having allergies to other food items. She didn't suddenly become coeliac in 1985, nor did her mother who is in her 80's.
My sister is in her 70's & has always had digestive issues in regard to milk. She's only known in the last 10 years that the reason is she is lactose intolerant. Prior to that she was just bloated & and felt sick if she drank milk etc. Now, she avoids symptoms by choosing lactose free milk. People certainly did die from anaphalysis due to nut ( & other allergies) before 1985. For some people exposure makes them feel ill, others it can be fatal. Better access to epipens has increased survival.
Has the rate of new allergies increased or are more people who have intolerances etc being diagnosed? I'm not sure. I would need to look at actual scientific studies to see what the conclusions are on that one but allergies & intolerances did not just suddenly appear, they have been with us for a very long time.

Our society has come a long way from the olden days, as today's life is so different now. In our currant society, people have changed so much. They use their bodies far more than many years ago. It is in the way they dress, their hair dos, piercing & tattooing wherever. I sometimes wonder to why so many people do these things. Is it to be different from someone else, getting back to someone you loved or hated. Jewellery anywhere beside where it should be. In my opinion, body...

I have 11 piercings in my ears, 1 in my belly button & a few tattoos. My mother actually took me to get my belly button done since I was only 17 & I went with her to get her second piercing in her ears. I'm not a fan of some facial piercings or over gauged ears, but a small stud in the nose or ring in the eyebrow is fine. I think if you're qualified to do the job, it shouldn't matter what kind of piercings you have. If you're the face of a company, the employer should make it clear in the dress code policy. Don't judge a book by its cover.

Do u wear? Do you wear makeup daily? Will u leave the house without makeup? Are you a cheap makeup is good enough, or do you like the more expensive brands? Do u purchase products for UNDER makeup? (Like primer) Do you use a setting spray afterwards?
P F
The only "make up" I use is sun lotion 50+, even on mild days. There is a reason why Australia has the highest skin cancer rate and it's called ozone depletion. And being Australian, I much prefer the natural beauty of a person to one that is "painted" up anyway.

There is a housing crisis across this nation and if you fall into certain categories it is even harder to get housing Women over fifty have less super sometimes as they have stayed home to raise children, later becoming divorced or widowed, young families, low income earners Empty nesters, and older couples The governments are trying to fix this problem, but this should've been thought of forty year ago, not now What do you think could improve this crisis and would...
Sylvia Y
It is not the banks that are at fault it lies at the feet of the state and federal governments they need to put a halt on immigration and stop housing refugees etc and put our own people first, also with older women it is not only those who stayed at home back even in the seventies and early eighties a lot of women werent covered by superannuation and that fault lies at the feet of employers at that time, that was one good thing which is due to unions.

Not everybody knows what they're calling in life is, for most of us it's not until we're much older and much wiser that we stumble upon it and if you're one of the lucky ones, you've found it early on, but nonetheless we all have one, a calling, a purpose, a thing we're really good at and that we really love doing. If you've found yours, write a few sentences about it and share it with the rest of us, I'd really love to hear how your story impacted you. I'm sure there isn't...

Mine, IMO, is kind of unique. I had been working in marketing for McDonald’s and I was overseas opening up the first store in New Caledonia. There was a female staff member who was having a threatened miscarriage and she was taken to the white hospital in the capital. She didn’t lose the baby but that experience led me to look at the hospital for the indigenous population and I was very disappointed in the difference of care and the infrastructure which the Kanak people had access to in comparison to the French speaking population. After returning to Australia I made the decision to apply to University and study Nursing and become a Registered Nurse instead. That career choice was the best decision I ever made and although I earned less money the satisfaction was far greater than selling hamburgers to 3rd world nations. Thanks for reading.
