We were away for a few days. it was the first time I had slept in a bed under a window, I had a dream that somebody was climbing in on top of me

my scariest movie was the exorcist especially when the girl was on the bed and her head turned round.

Oh you poor thing! stress plays with our heads and our dreams. I have lots of bad dreams and am relieved when i wake, tho' sometimes want to stay in a dream and not wake up. Some powerful dreams stay with you the whole day. Occasionally see plane crashes..plane coming right for me and landing in my back yard, being chased and even though i am hiding somewhere brilliant the murderer finds me..thankGod always wake up at that moment, or being chased but at last minute being able to fly to get away. Once, and only once for which I’m very sorry, I dreamed that I can fly! When woke up, I was sure that I can fly, it was so easy and wonderful in my dream...

I don't remember dreams or nightmares.

When I was about 12 I watched a spider on the celling as I fell asleep and it got bigger and come down onto me and stared to eat me. My parents come into my bedroom at hearing my screams and found scratching the Wardrope doors and woke me up. I have never been so scared in my live as I am now in my 70s and still remember that nightmare and still have the wardrobe

Nightmare I used to have as a kid monsters chasing me and my brother around our house and the final destination we hid was under our bunk beds would always get woken by my body jilting

Sleep paralysis is easily the worst "dream" like state I've experienced. Being half awake-half asleep seeing things in the room, trying to yell and nothing comes out, can't move, feeling absolute dread throughout your whole body while witnessing something terrible manifest in front of you,..Just a state of fear and confusion while knowing something very weird and bad is happening. Terrifying. And then you suddenly find a way to snap out of it. At times you literally have to fight not going back into it. Hard to explain to someone who hasn't experienced it. Apart from that though I had people chasing me and bashing my head in with hammers in a dream. Woke up sweating pretty hard that time. Can't remember what was going on in my life at the time to cause such a dream. EDIT: If anyone reading this has problems with sleep paralysis, sleep on your side. Not your back. I know I've had heaps of dreams in my life but they fade as I wake so I can't recall them to you. When young I certainly had the flying dreams, wasn't a great flyer could only just make it over the back fence!

My scariest nightmare happened when I was about 14 years old. I was living in a group home and had gone to bed for the night. Something woke me up, but I wasn't really awake. Coming through the closed and locked door of my room was the night supervisor who was supposed to be asleep upstairs. Think about all of the times you've seen "A Christmas Carol" and Jacob Marley comes through the door and scared the life out of old Ebenezer Scrooge. Well, This was my Jacob Marlee exactly. He approached the bed I was in as silently as can be. I tried to scream but I was so terrified I couldn't make a sound. I had an old time mattress with rolls along the edges. All I could do was grip the roll harder and harder and watch in horror as the apparition came nearer. When he reached the bottom of the bed he reached out with both hands and grabbed my ankles with a strength I have never encountered before. He gave my legs a shake and just as magically as he appeared he was gone. I was so stunned I couldn't do a thing. Once I calmed down I went back to sleep (did I ever really wake up?) and never dreamed a dream like that ever since.

third vaccination for the virus affected me so ended up in hospital with oxygen to help me breathe. Just for two days, I came home not feeling the best and went to sleep. (Kind of sleep) Woke up and a man standing over me with a gun ready to shoot me. I screamed and screamed, throat was so sore, (was I awake or asleep) My dog came running in, laying across me as in head on right shoulder, body across me. So aware of her heart beating,,, the guy would not shoot me with her there. 12/13 hours passed, this guy standing there, I woke up, Dog still laying across me not moving, was this real?? slowly my brain took over, none of it real, my dog then realising all was okay she moved I believe it was the after affects of maybe the oxygen or the needle . My dog has never been trained, but she lay across me like a trained dog, not moving till I did, protecting me. Through this nightmare I now look on my dog with different eyes from an untrained spoiled dog, ready to protect me.

No bad ones, luckily, mostly happy good ones.

I get masses of very detailed dreams...way too long for this space...but no nightmares..

Never had nightmares or dreams but I once saw a scary movie. I had to ride my bike home and over about 10 blocks. I think I set a land speed record that night.

My scariest dream was that I was at the airport and I was watching an airplane coming in for a landing. It was coming in too fast, and I saw people jumping from the exit doors and the plane crashed and exploded. I woke up in a panic. We live near an airport and whenever I see a plane that looks like it is coming too low, I get very nervous.

I used to have a reoccuring dream being trapped in a burning car. Never a house always a car. I would only dream this when there was turmoil in my life. I remembered when I was about 12 I was staying with my Uncle and Aunt in Cronulla and there was a boat fire and the fire fighters were having troubles getting their hoses down to the marina. Long story short my now husband was at that fire as he was a fire fighter in the NSW fire brigade. I haven't had that dream for a long time now because I am happy and in a secure relationship. It's a small world some times.

I have hynogogic dreams as part of my narcolypsy condition. It means my dreams are even more vivid than being awake in every aspect,nightmares more horrifying real in all detail,and pleasant dreams to. I talk,cry scream in my sleep. That being said my favourite dream of all has to be walking into my home I was living in as a small child. Seeing every room until I came to my parents bedroom. My father lay there asleep. I could see exactly the way he slept,breathed and even that wonderful smell he had as he slept.i crept closer and stood right next to him and whispered, "I love you daddy". Touched his face and he stirred. I moved quickly backwards as not to wake him. I stood there fir the longest time. When I woke I was crying,but happy,sort of. For those who don't know. My father was killed when I was 7. I have some strong memories of him. But to me this dream was a gift.

I lately have been dreaming about past friends and loved ones, almost like I'm seeing my life flash by in my dreams, past events, concerts that i attended, only with different people, and how that night or day turned out different, to me at the moment this is scary,there has been the odd happy ending, it's like I am seeing what happened if I had opened a different door, kind of spooky because like most i rarely remembered my dreamsEdited 19-Feb-23 11:48am

Having just had a cancer diagnosis and having had 3 days in isolation in real life. I had a dream that the doctor told me I had to go back in to isolation for 6 days. That scared me so much I woke up crying.

Something scared me in a dream so i jumped out of bed and went to look out the window. Problem was the window was shut. Outcome smashed window and a sore head.

Mine wasn't so much a dream but an experience that began when I was sleeping. I was alone in my room and I didn't have a bedside table light to turn on when I had rescued which kind of increased the fear. This is the event: I was sleeping when suddenly I was in a space like a room with 2 large demonic entities and these demons had horns and their faces were mottled. One is sitting on a chair.and the other one is closer to me although I don't recall seeing him clearly as he was to my left side, but I certainly felt him. He proceeds to begin strangling me and I was in my bed and NOT in the room when this is taking place. I feel his hands going up my neck and tightening and then I call upon the name of Jesus and it stops. The only thing that was different on THAT night as opposed to all others was that I had started listening to one of those channels that put you to sleep by using different frequencies. I had just started trying them because I suffer from insomnia and I'll be honest, I hadn't slept as well nor felt SO relaxed in my body than when I was listening to these frequencies. But I will NEVER use them again nor have I in the 8 years since this event as I believe that I allowed these interdimensional beings access through the frequencies. But the attack DID stop when I called on Jesus! Thanks for reading.

The devil and his angels are holding me down in bed and my body is paralyzed, the scariest part is I'm as awake as awake gets. :(. I'm editing to add that if I pray in the name of Jesus Christ, the enemy has no choice but to leave, and I thank my God every day that that's what I did, bc it's such an amazingly strong feeling when you have positive forces that will aid you in your darkest hours, if you will but call on HIM, JESUS CHRIST. I dreamt that my late husband was alive. It was a very pleasant dream.

wow, my dreams are always that i'm going to be left alone -- ie my mom died and i had to spend xmas alone, etc.

The night my father in-law died he came to me and we went for a drive, on the way home, I turned a corner and I didn't know where we were. Dad said this is lovely. I turned the car around and drove back to the corner. Dad was gone. It was the exact time that was recorded on his death certificate.

I dream quite often about being chased by bulls or snakes. Then your sleep is ruined completely and you won’t sleep for several days it’ll haunt you when you close your eyes.

One night I dreamt that a snake reared at me. I jumped out of bed. It was about 9.30 pm. My grandmother was miles away and had a dream that made her jump out of bed. It was 9.30pm the same night.

Funnily enough i was just thinking about last nights dream, where i realised it was a dream and i said to my friend in the dream that i knew i was dreaming. So since we were at a festival and you can't put on weight in a dream , that i was going to pig out on cream cakes

I had a recurring dream that a plane was about to crash onto me, I ran and ran but it was always faster. I woke before it crashed though. The last time I had that dream I stopped and watched it to see where it would crash and just walked the other way.

Not sure which was the scariest the nightmare or what had happened in real time. Nightmare. Wife of neighbour was Grim reaper, I was on chaise lounge, couldn't move and she locked me in an attic room then left. Found out the next morning her husband [who had heart problems] had died at the time I was having the nightmare.

I dream a lot that I can fly about, I jolly well know that it's impossible, but I used to yell out that I can do it "see I am flying" and pinch myself that it was real, then wake up and have pins and needles from lying too long on one side. Not sure to classify it as a dream or a nightmare ... but it started to become like ground hog day ... here we go again folks!!!

The best was that I could fly around or float around. It was so real, I would wake up and wonder if it was true.

Hope this one does not offend. In this dream I was a member of the Olympic pissing team. I was asleep and the coach was shaking me and telling me I had to get up so I could compete. I rolled over and told him to go away and let me sleep. Then I suddenly woke up and you can guess where I had to run to. I only barely made it.

I still have bad dreams about jobs I did many years ago. When I wake up I have to think, am I still working or am I retired. I think it’s the stress of being in business and having people working for you and I was responsable the the job being done well.

I've had bad nightmares and flashbacks from being physically abused at school and at my grandmas house. To this day I'm hunts me

I had a recurring dream over a number of years about a bear (black) chasing me out of my house and over to a neighbours, down their side path to the back yard and I hid under some wire whereas everyone else ran out the back yard gate but the bear stood on myback. I woke up at this point with a really sore back that lasted for some time. I guess I had this exact dream about 6 times over all. Odd as I live in Australia and we do not have bears.
