Some broken promises are understandable. Things happen, totally out of your control, and you can't do what you promised. It happens. It's not out of malice, just out of circumstance.
But some broken promises are not so easy to get past. Even if you had no control over the situation, and you didn't do what you promised you would, it can be something that stays with you. Something you would give anything to rectify.
