Hurricanes
boy blunderOct 11, 24
I am sitting over here in Adelaide Australia and the sun is shining, and believe me, I know how lucky I am, I want to send as many blessings as I can chalk up with the big fella upstairs and send them over to the hurricane-affected areas, all I can say is Hellene is a [bad word], and Milton is an [another bad word]

                      • We are indeed fortunate that we live in a somewhat "safe" area of the world. We get the occasional cyclone but we don't get the constant hurricanes and tornadoes that some states in the US seem to get. Our thoughts are with them but Americans are very resilient people and are good at helping one another in times of need so I'm sure they'll all be back on their feet in no time.

You're correct, and I should have looked it up before posting; I apologize. Someone I trust posted it on Facebook and Facebook surprisingly didn't fact check it, so I thought it was accurate. The government does so many seemingly unbelievable things now a days, that it is difficult to discern the truth at times, but I'm usually good about fact checking things myself but somehow missed this one.

Completely wiped out the mountain homes that are not going to be rebuilt. There are still bodies that haven't been picked up just bloated and smelling up the air. In biltmore village you can literally smell death in the air. Sorry I'm a scatter brain.

They built a lot of expensive properties right on the coast and they should know the history of the place. Why aren't they building more hurricane proof properties? They have the knowledge to do so. They have a lot of wealthy people who live in Florida so there's no excuse. Why does the media focus so much on those wealthy areas when there are many poorer folk in much less wealthy countries that do not get the same attention as they do. Bangladesh, Phillipines, south pacific, etc. But the yankies expect the rest of the world to care. Why does the Australian media carrying on about every American tragedy? .What rubbish!

They were saying thousands or hundreds could be killed, but not many casualties have occurred at all. Florida is prone to those conditions because they are sub-tropical. It happens in other places like that around the world. It's those who own property, businesses, and insurance companies who will be fighting some financial losses.
