If people want to wear a mask that is their choice, and they should not be critically assessed based on their decision. The same situation applies for people who choose not to wear mask. It has been proven by scientists that the " covid 19 virus" has particles that can only be seen on an electronic microscope. Therefore they can easily penetrative any mask. So the mask is useless. It also reduces our intake of oxygen and increases carbon dioxide in the lungs, which can lead to a long list of respiratory conditions too long to list on this platform. So think twice before you put on that mask or just stay home. It is your choice at the time that we currently exist in.

In reality, this is a virus that transmits via air and surfaces. It not only enters our body via our mouth and nose but also through the pores in our skin and through our eye sockets, which is why many years ago with such outbreaks healthcare workers wore Hazmat suits. IF we want to have FULL protection when we go out in public we need to wear face masks, rubber gloves, goggles and keep all of our skin covered.

In my opinion "Mask wearing" is not enough to stop the spread of the virus as world leaders have proven to date. Covid-19 is REAL and here to stay. The virus is not only spreading through the air, but via things we touch. FOR EXAMPLE:- If an infected person goes into a shop, picks up a product then places it back on the shelf, the virus transfers to that product then next person to touch it becomes infected...... Same applies at schools, work places, public transport, etc..... Therefore, to minimise the spread, in addition to wearing face masks when out in public we should ALSO be wearing rubber gloves and to change them regularly otherwise your gloves could pick up the virus in one location and transfer it to another

One asked me for my date of birth, which I did, clicked "continue" then I was told I'm disqualified from the survey for not answering honestly. Hey if its been made compulsory, wear the bloody thing if you are leaving the confines of your own home, you are not only protecting yourself from any and hopefully all nasties, but also protecting everyone else around you. Our governments dont make or bring in these rules just for the hell of it, they are made for a very good and sensible reason. Those idiots out there who are so arrogant who feel they dont need to do what has been asked or specified are just totally irresponsible and should be fined at the very least, as for the cost of their medical bills, they should have to not only pay them but be charged extra as if they had of followed the rules, they wouldnt need covid testing or treatment.

Those who wear a mask when required and their household if also compliant, should get free medical care if they get COVID-19. Those who decide it violates their rights to be made to wear a mask, should be denied free medical care in the case they contract COVID-19. Their household and contacts should also be denied free care. Peer pressure is probably more influential than anything else.

My understanding is that a mask prevents you from transmitting the virus to others, not necessarily protecting you from infection. Therefore in the interest of public safety the directive to wear a mask is imperative. Those who don't want to wear a mask are inconsiderate (of others) & should be fined.

I'd love it if they could be forced to pay for their own medical bills, however most of these deadbeats who are refusing to wear masks don't have the money and never will. They don't work so even the fines they get won't be paid.

At the moment with the threat of Covid and when advised by medical experts everyone (with a few exceptions) should wear a mask both to protect themselves, their family and friends and the community. It is small price to pay for your health and well-being.

I wear one in the doctors surgery and it is so hard to breathe as I have asthma and it fogs up the glasses. We live in a rural town that has been very lucky with next to none cases. If I was in a city I would definitely wear a mask and if they ask I would put it on. I do all the other things like sanitizing before and after visiting a store or restaurant etc keeping my distance and washing hands. The bottom line is if it is law to wear a mask then I would do so.

Masks can help, but wearing a mask does not mean that you are safe from catching a virus.

I have a wife that got asthma late in life uses puffers for relief she always wears a mask when we go shopping,I do also but not outdoors but if directions are issued that it’s mandatory to wear masks so bit it can’t see any real issues,just think of your fellowman if you disregard these rules.

Always when I am in shops etc, I have a husband with a chronic health condition so I would not take the chance of passing anything onto him, at least we don't have to wear them when we are outside, I would have a hard time breathing when I am outside walking that I do for exercise, my chill out time, best time to do your thinking. I would rather not take the chance of catching it, there has been a lot of talk about the long term effects some people get, for months afterwards.

I take one with me and, depending on where I am going if the instruction is to wear one, or a store has a policy of asking us to wear when when entering I wear it. For people to refuse to do so because they think it impinges on some imagined Right is not just Selfish but Wrong. We, like many other countries, have no legislated Bill of Rights. No Rights under the Australian Constitution to refuse to wear a mask. If that is what the Government has ordered and these governments only order this mask-wearing to Protect All of us, then we should comply. Therefore, anyone who does not mask ip as required should be fined and also be required to foot the bill for all medical treatments should they contract Vovid19 or any of it's variants. I think masks should be worn on public transport and in crowded places such as supermarkets -shopping centres and in waiting rooms I do not think they are necessary when exercising outdoors. My husband has an exemption form his GP but owing to ignorant people abusing him he wears it which causes him great distress. He has emphsemia.

I think those who choose not to wear a mask when it is mandated should pay for their own medical care, plus they should be fined much more than $200, so as to contribute to medical expenses of those around them who get sick because of them. I can tell you from personal experience that masks do protect you. When I was a nurse I worked on hospital wards with patients who were infectious, full PPE was essential and even though I don't like wearing masks, I did. I never caught anything at work. Here in Australia do we want to end up like other countries: no masks, no social distancing, no quarantine or lockdown, but hospitals full, morgues overflowing, funeral parlours working 24/7 and overseas people bringing various strains of virus with them. The individual is ultimately responsible for their own medical bills but because of being forced to wear this blasted thing at work, I have developed a persistent cough due to the fibres being inhaled via the nasal and oral passages. I wear a mask (not by choice) when entering an establishment but refuse to when walking out and about. As we are residing in Regional Victoria (where there was 1 case in March 2020), why are we being penalised for what goes in the cities??

For the safety of all people we need to wear masks. I do not want to spread the virus to a loved one. Masks are nothing compared to getting the virus. I am a retired doctor. Viruses are natural secretions of the body and do not live at all out of the body, even for a millisecond, ever!!! Masks are not imposed for health, but for control. Also, the this virus has not been isolated in anyone. It exists in a patent filed in the US patent office only. Vaccines cannot be effective when one does not know what this "virus" "looks" like. Tests are highly inaccurate and are measuring previously natural virus secretion, ie the flu. Fruits and other things have tested positive. So what's going on? Do your own research. Hint: the US election is a part of it.

If it is the rule just obey it. In the current situation we need all the protection we can get. If someone has a cold or flu they should wear a mask to protect others - this should become the normal thing to do. Coughing and sneezing over other people is so unfair.

I, unfortunately, do not wear a mask; because when I do, my gag reflex kicks in, and I end up heaving everywhere. I have tried several different types of masks and have the same problem with each. The doctor has told me not to wear one, because of it. But, I careful about hygiene and social distancing. Some medical conditions make wearing a mask difficult, if not impossible. Should people be punished in that case? While the idea has merit, some provision should be made for those who can't (not won't) wear a mask.

Maybe wearing a face mask is not going to completely protect you from covid, but everything that helps to prevent its spread is needed. Sure, wearing a face mask in public places is annoying and uncomfortable, but it is better than being exposed to the virus. I was infected with influenzaA at the beginning of covid19 arriving in NZ. Was refused masks by home support workers employers and other PPE as well. Went to client Number 3 after being on holiday for 3 weeks. If I had worn a mask I would not have caught the the flu bug from her. I had to be swabbed for covid and my husband had to be swabbed as well because he got it from me. It took me 6 months to get myself back to feeling well again. So I believe in masks when you are outside your family bubble. Especially if they are worn correctly.

If face masks are mandatory, then there is no informed consent. There is no freedom of choice on the part of the individual. Some people cannot wear masks for medical reasons, like asthma. Should they be penalised for something that is not their fault? And, if social distancing works, why the face masks? If the face masks work, why the social distancing? If they both work, why bother with any lockdowns? If all three work, why the vaccines? Something to think about isn't it? As for medical bills, everyone should be responsible for their own medical care like any other medical treatment.
