Discussion of the Day
What survey questions or requirements have you rejecting surveys
TimtamApr 19, 22
For me, it's all the following :
1. Any survey that wants my specific contact details as in name, address, email etc is a no-go for me. I don't mean general info like post code, but actual address etc.
2. Surveys that want to record my facial reactions - no, thank you buddy-not using my camera for surveys at all
3. Surveys that expect you to download an app on your phone or device, so they can track your internet use/ ads viewed etc. Not happening.
4. Surveys that offer too little reward for the time indicated. I'm not wasting time on surveys that offer too little points for the effort involved.
5. Surveys that want intricate breakdowns of money spent on different items
6. Surveys that are just plain boring. Life is too short !
I think that's my main gripes. How about you ? How do you feel about these?
Do you have any other pet peeves that have you opting out of certain surveys?

  • finally got another $50 into my bank account. woohoo

    • As one of the pre-screening questions, a few times I've been hit with this question, exactly word for word: "How long have you been affiliated from the source by which you came from?" I always answer with "1 year or longer", but I have no idea what they're asking.
      ·
      • Oh wow I've not come across that one. Yeah that's very confusing. What 'source' ?? Weird.
        ·
      • maybe they're asking how long I've been a member of the site where I received the survey.
        ·
    • Pretty much Are you willing to use web cam Do you allow access to your tv subs & surveys you start that are hard work! (Prob depends on my mood at the time)
      ·
      • Spent 20 minutes on a survey to be told i was "screened out" really annoying waste of time! And then half i click on say i was screen out before i even get asked a question
        ·
        • Yes that is super annoying!
          ·
      • I avoid low-paying surveys unless it's all that I need to reach a payout. I don't mind using my camera, giving out my email or downloading usage-tracking apps. I might quit a survey that runs well over the specified time, though.

        • Yer pretty much what you sed tomtam.

          • The green ones every day 55 points, cant get into them, they are blocking my survey feed. I messaged Rewardia, they said some people dont fit the criteria, I understand that ,but why send me 10 green surveys every day that I am not eligible for, and in saying that Poll fish doesnt work any more ,and pink surveys are saying 222 points 4 times a day and get declined. I am getting very frustrated !
            ·
            • Welcome aboard my boat with Poll Fish. I'm just about fed up with Poll Fish and their "Tell us what happened". How the hell do I know? The survey seemed to be fine for the first pre-qual question.. next thing I see is a "Tell Us What Happened" page
              ·
          • I am getting fed of doing surveys. First the maroon surveys always kick me out after wanting to know all my details and now the blue surveys are following the maroon ones. Really frustrating and loss of time. Come on Rewardia you should tel them.
            ·
            • What annoys me most is that they email me telling me that there is a fantastic survey for me to do and when I open up my account the message is "sorry this survey is already filled or there are no more surveys available for you at this time." Is Rewardia being a little bit .... prejudice against age ..... 76 mentally alert a carer for an expartner with cancer .....they advertise to come and do these wonderful surveys and to date I get half way through one and they kick me out with no explanation and of course you cant get back into them or they give you 4 points. Wow I thought my carer's allowance of .40 cents an hr due to the 24/7 was slave labour but doing a 15 minute survey that actually takes 56 minutes because the questions are so tendious and to get thrown out doesn't make you want to be loyal to a company that expands the truth.
              ·
              • Well said !!!! I couldnt agree more. I have a special needs 21 year old son, hence I am doing this from home too. Used to be good, but last couple months gone down hill, also wondering if I should be wasting my time.
                ·
            • i do boring surveys because i"m trying to make extra money .But i will not allow them to video me .
              ·
              • on 21/4/22 received an invitation to do OLIVE SURVEYS and receive bonus points. great I thought, bonus for me, and you know what..... THERE WERE NO OLIVE SURVEYS AVAILABLE FOR ME TO DO. so much for getting bonus, or even being able to try.
                ·
                • Me too..though there was one Olive survey...but i didnt qualify....and the points would not have been enough to get bonus anyway
                  ·
                • If you dont get to your emails straight away, survey will fill up quickly and then close b4 u get to it.
                  ·
              • Agreed!! Has anyone also experiencing screened out after the survey asked for the Nationality. Very racist!! Now it didn't get screened out, but giving lots of opportunities, but no opportunity for doing the surveys at all.
                ·
                • Agree with all of this...too many personal questions which makes me wonder exactly what are they doing with our information?...Why they are selling it of course hence why you keep getting charities etc calling.
                  ·
                  • My other special dislikes are those endlessly repeated preliminary questions which are a waste of time such as: 1) If you had a Superpower what would you want to be able to do? 2) What are your views on technology? 3) What is your favourite meal? Just what is the point of them? The other is when you click on a survey and are told that your profile doesn't match but "We have another survey which does" (or words to that effect) so you click on that only to have the same response multiple times. Either our profile matches or it doesn't!
                    ·
                    • I fully agree with your comments. Exactly like my comment I have just sent through. I wonder if the company who is supposedly paying us these little bits of bird seed are actually interested in how we are being treated or not. Intersting to know how much they are getting paid for these long lists of surveys.
                      ·
                  • no, surveys are all the same more or less, if you think doing surveys that you will succeed at every one, then it's time you moved on over to flipping fast food burgers, or become a jump master, if what you are looking for is income, and not boring ;-))
                    ·
                    • Any questions that asks how many children in the household and dates of birth as well as gender turns me off immediatley
                      ·
                      • I certainly agree with these points - my son told me to never download an app etc.
                        ·
                        • Sounds the same for me.

                          • I will give just password so they can work averages for different states / general areas
                            ·
                            • Absolutely all of the above.

                                • i need to be accepted in to a survey first, most just plain rejection before entry is given/allowed.
                                  ·
                                  • All of the above.

                                    • Don't do Suvery you don't want. I hate doing Suvery did half ways and they finish them and not give me the point. Finish but gove me less point them shown and don't fit they Suvery and they close me off not finish survey or if you answer they way you lock out of the Suvery that happens with covid i dislike something and they lock me out. I miss red Suvery how fun its was. I think Suvery are good way to open our mind to things around us. Its make my self more open mind and feel better about myself many ways

                                      • Point should be given for screening .There is age discrimination too
                                        ·
                                        • Unfortunately there will always be age discrimination. Survey companies can't seem to comprehend ALL life experiences of older people, who can offer a lot!

I say I only know them by name, and they ask things like, do they pay their workers fairly, are they sustainable, would I recommend them to my friends? When I say no, and they ask why, I say I don't go around randomly recommending companies I know nothing about to people.

How on earth am I supposed to know if the manager does a good job etc. When they ask why you said whatever it annoys the hell out of me - sometimes I have been known to answer "because you asked". A good lot of the times when these partyicular ones start I just close them - cannot be bothered.

Or the ones that say 9 minutes on the list and end up being 25! I might be retired but I don’t sit at the computer ALL day!

THAT is frustrating and makes me not trust the market research company supplying the survey. I am open to doing the video surveys, most of those pay a lot better. If they want to look at my ugly mug... go ahead. :P We earn below the "poverty line" so i have no issue talking money, there's not a lot to talk about for my situation.

Those absurd Cartoon Character "How do you feel" parts of surveys which then ask you to use the same Cartoon Characters to express how you feel about assorted organisations such as Telcos, Supermarkets. Surveys which include questions about one's assets - This is something which id 100% Private and no business of anyone else. In particular that Regular Survey which asks questions about your finances, how many accounts you have, how much money is in each, how much do you owe on your credit cards, what are the interest rates you are charged on debt - they never ask how much the Banks etc. pay you on deposits because they already know that they pay nothing. Apart from that I have but one other gripe! Getting screened out of almost All surveys as soon as I enter my Gender and, particularly, my Age. Yes, I am getting on BUT that does not mean I have lost all my intelligence, am dementing, have no Valid opinions or experience of Life.

I get screening out points. You never know how many minutes a survey will be unless you click on it. Some may say for eg: 80 min. you click on it and it's 5 mins. I have learned all sorts of things doing these surveys...makes sure you do your reds first :) Pet pet pet peeve, is some surveys need to give you more options for your answer selection

Asking you the same question but phrasing it differently. Surveys about financial institutions and telecommunication products. Surveys where they ask you if you use a product and when you say no keep asking you about the product or service. Surveys that are long and not worth the effort.

Sure I agree with the above but to be told you are being taken to the survey and then some pointless little icon goes round and round. Yesterday I added up 12 surveys that were not able to be done.
