Change of seasons
Ally 2024Sep 24, 24
Do you feel that the weather impacts your mood and daily life? In the cold months you are less energised and prefer to stay home compared to warmer months when you might go to see a show. I feel the weather and seasons definitely impact me, but I push myself to get out there and do things it just seems less enjoyable in the cooler weather

I love the changes in weather. Every day is an experience, whatever the weather. Four seasons are great, don’t want all hot ,don’t want all cold.

there is always ways to keep warm during winter, but summer is too difficult for me to put up with, even though an aircon unit is installed, beach is only down the street, I just can't keep cool

                • Ellen C 69679
Yes but the other way around. Summer gets so hot where I live that it becomes quite depressing, feel like I'm trapped indoors in air conditioning all the time. If you need to get anything done it has to be ridiculously early to avoid the heat. Winter I can get out and about, sleep better, get lots of rest and feel great. Spring is just allergies which isn't great either. So yeah it definitely affects each of us differently I guess.

As we are made mostly of water we are affected by the weather. As the barometer goes up and down so can we, we are also affected by the moon. Lack of sun can also affect the way we feel. I don't like the cold so I have trouble getting up each morning, and I don't enjoy being outside in the cold. I LOVE daylight saving and dislike the clock's turning back and I dislike the shorter days. I am loving the Spring and look forward to Summer.

I prefer the cooler weather but get out and about no matter what the season. In winter you can layer up with clothes to stay warm in summer it is lighter wear and head for air conditioning in shopping centres if you don't have one at home. Better still there's always a good movie showing at the local cinema not matter what the weather.

I can say I much prefer longer days and sun, sun, sun. I thought it was mostly me and getting older, so it is good others feel this change also. Winter has some treasures though, those snowball fights with your unsuspecting friend, and watching your little black dog bury herself in snow and look at you so happy with a face full of the white stuff.

As the old saying goes "It's all in the mind". If you are looking forward to doing something with friends you may grumble about going out in the cold to get there but if it's just you walking around your local area we let the weather influence our decisions more but when we have Spring with all it's promises of sunshine and flowers to tempt us out, life seems much cheerier than cold dreary winter days.

Next year the school is celebrating 150 years and a function is planned . No details yet as just in planning stage. The school is on Facebook under Bundaberg Central School so they can link to the school by that. I went there 1954-60 so I can imagine a lot will attend and a BIG ground will be needed. Thanks

However there is about 3 months of the year that being tropical can make you feel oppressed because of the humidity when all you want to do is sit in aircon or laze at the beach.

During the coldest, most snow-filled winters in Europe, and probably other places as well, on the days when, despite the freezing temperatures, if the sun shone we all felt better.

I find i used to be fine in all weather when i was younger, but now i find humidity or cold wet days the worst when i have to work (outdoors job, exposed to the elements). Cooler weather is nice as it is is much easier to rug up with layers to stay warm, but i also don't mind the hot dry weather when there's no or very minimal humidity.

You need the extra vitamin D that many people do not get enough of during the winter season. That is why it’s called Seasonal Affective Disorder and not rainy day blues. People with this disorder don’t necessarily complain about the weather, they are depressed from lack of sunlight.

I go for a walk even if just a short one in the cooler months so I can get outside and get fresh air. It is so important to our overall health.

I guess hot stresses me more than cold because you cannot escape it. In the winter you have options such as more clothes, heating, movement and exercise and of course food provides energy = warmth
