Should we wear puffer jackets?

I see lots of people wearing jackets that are warm and puffy, but should we be wearing them? I think not.
I have heard of many bad incidents with puffer jacket. My friend got roasted in their puffer jacket, it caught on fire, and it couldn't be put out, the jacket burnt too quick. Another friend of mine went missing in their jacket, was never found. RIP Jimmy. And I have also had a bad experience with puffer jackets. At school, everyone wore raincoats and I had a puffer jacket. Everyone bullied me.
So I have not had a good time with these jackets and I think they bring bad luck.

    I feel this isn’t a topic for discussion, but rather a personal choice. Who are we to say what people should or shouldn’t be wearing? There are bigger issues to be discussed.

                Should we wear them? I don't think that is up for anyone to decide for another person, but for the individual themself to choose what they will or won't wear. They are not practical for my lifestyle, but i know many people who love theirs and i am totally fine with that. I do however have a sleeping bag onesie (it has legs and sleeves plus a hood) for camping, so would you classify that as a puffy jacket on steroids?

                    I don't mind the look of them, but I prefer the more slim lined ones, as to their dangers, I haven't ever contemplated them. I don't smoke & haven't worn them around naked flame so far, so good :)

                                              There is something wrong if the jacket caught fire. Australian regulations are strict about clothing that burns to easily.

                                                    My 2nd winter in my puffer jacket, and apart from one cold after the other, it keeps me cosy. Better a heavy wool coat.

                                                      Try wearing a sheep skin jacket might be a little safer, that is if they are still made. Not ideal to go swimming in thou.

                                                                  I love my puffer coat, it is so warm in the winter time. I love the look and the feel of my coat, i don't worry about anyone else not liking it, it keeps me warm.

                                                                      I wear my puffer jacket everyday, in every season, which is everyday because I live in Melbourne. Apart from a few burn holes from the loosely packed chop chop, I’ve managed to avoid fire.
