Discussion of the Day
Would it be tasty now?

The 'in' thing at school was a mince pie & packet of chips/crisps trend:
Peel back pie top & scoop out the mince with a chip (eating mince like dip)
Then put the chips in pie, top back on - chip pie - done & yum
Seems weird now - did you have any 'weird' food combos?

I used to open a can of tuna, break it up into chunks, and then put it in my Kraft Dinner. I have no idea what I was thinking!

At my Primary School I would enjoy a once a week treat. My choice would be a pastie. Unfortunately one day I had eaten half of the pastie and observed black things inside. As I looked closer I noticed ants, and plenty of it cooked through. I was 8 or 9 years old.

I like to dip plain potato chips in mustard or hot sauce.

We did have a tuck shop and one could buy pies and sausage rolls and sandwiches. I never did as my Mum had 4 kids at school so she packed our lunches for us. To be honest, never been a fan of pies or sausage rolls anyway and still not in my 70's.

I laughed the other day when I read about someone from another country not understanding Chip Sandwiches. As and Aussie kid we grew upon them as a treat. Two slices of fresh bread, heaps of butter, layered with chips (crisps) and squashed down, so none fall out LOL

Yep loved them but never squashed them but did have tomato sauce on them. The butter melted and the bread was warm. Lovely. I used to buy 6p worth of chips which came wrapped in newspaper back then.

We could buy also broken chips so cheap and was great to put vinegar on them and make sandwiches again with thick butter .What would good food, fresh fruit, salad people say to that?? shock horror. I still eat chip sandwiches

Junior high (now middle) and high school had pizza and corn. I always thought that was the strangest combo. The first few years that I taught we also had pizza and corn. Whatever!
