Weddings are often talked of as a day for the bride and groom (especially the bride) to be celebrated. But I feel most of the time it is more for the family. To follow tradition and make everyone happy. I certainly feel like that about my wedding. Half of the attendees will be my fiancee's extended family, most of whom I do not know, and there are several last-minute changes I had to make because of his family expectations. Which I would have been completely fine with if they had told me two years ago when I started planning the wedding... Or a year ago when I sent out the invites.
How do you feel about weddings? Are they just fulfilling an obligation, or is it really a day for the couple?
