IMAGINE NO POSSESSIONS ... because it may be coming soon!
APBDec 19, 24
I just did a survey where they clearly expected you to be paying monthly fees for a whole range of services. From the software you use...for all the music you listen to...to all you watch TV or your movies....leasing cars is another big contender too even for your food...REALLY! It's been gently gradual, and met no resistance so far. Easy money ... it's a perfect Corporate Future ... we are always in their debt, and we own nothing. THAT'S why they are always trying to make us TRUST them ... or am I being paranoid?

    • The ‘sharing economy’, buying less, spending more. That’s the conclusion of a contributor to the World Economic Forum, who has predicted that by 2030 we will no longer own “stuff” but rather rent it. “Once in a while, I will choose to cook for myself,” she writes. “It is easy – the necessary kitchen equipment is delivered at my door within minutes… Why keep a pasta-maker and a crepe cooker crammed into our cupboards? We can just order and rent them when we need them.” One phenomenon that’s already being noticed is that those people who are still buying big ticket items are increasingly spending more on a top-end model in order that they can rent it out more easily and make a return on their purchase. Some insurance companies are coming up with a 'small dollars per hour' cost for hourly car rental businesses.

    • Hire/shared economy exists long time ago. Rental homes are the most common. Or going from having your own car, to paying a few bucks for a seat in bus/train over the next hour, uber or car share. The business model works for some, it solves the problems of outlay and space. I think most are great but people need to be smart enough to weigh up their options and make good choices (no different in many things in life).

It may just be the difference between escaping the 'net' and succumbing to it. (no one wants to be) Like a frog in the sauna...... "You'll own nothing, and be happy .... " ? • I do use music streaming, as I was never hugely partial to physical disks and love not having to store them anymore, plus I got a super cheap student plan so it works out still pretty cheap year to year. Things like cars I would rather own for convenience and comfort and sense of pride/accomplishment too.

                • Definitely a thing and definitely not to the benefit of the consumer. I recently had my -purchased- copy of Word I've had for ages just mysteriously stop working, and I needed it for work so I had to subscribe to Office 365..... so i am having a paranoid moment about that haha. Although in saying that I cancelled the subscription, but months later Word is still somehow letting me use it... so I guess swings and roundabouts

Yes! And, now we can be ourselves with no suggested script, nothing to memorize. I always notice something I can draw attention to. While one resident was closing the door, I asked her, "Excuse me. Before you go, would you please tell me what this pretty plant is?" She not only told me, but she dug up some for me to take home, and then took us on a tour of her beautiful backyard! I got a hug, and an invitation to return! ;-D

                                          • No, your not paranoid. There is an old question in economics: What do you do when everyone that wants one, has one? You can either design something that is really new, reduce the price, or find/expand current markets or develop new markets. By using all three ideas business can grow with very little effort. Leasing (with the marketing department leading the way) not only promises a better deal, but at the end of the lease they sell the returned product for a good price they get you to get another one. Keeps the industry going, rakes in the profits, and sets the trend for the future.

                                            • Ownership is not the point. It's exactly the opposite. It's the lease that drives the profit. Just because you don't own something doesn't mean you don't pay for the item (+interest). That's where the profits come from. Think about for a minute. You lease a car for, say, 4 years. When the lease is up then what? You take the car back to where you leased it, pay any charges against the car (like too much mileage), and get another one. You'll be making payments forever and never actually own anything.

                                            • We could worry about the future, do something to change things, complain or appreciate the life we have right now. It's a waste of energy to worry about some survey that may or may not mean anything! Whatever is going to happen, will. Then we learn how to cope. However, we do need to keep an eye out for what we may need to prepare for which is difficult when we don't know what we are preparing for. I think it is wise to stock up on the essentials and accept the fact that things could change and be prepared. We lived quite well in the past without the internet, without electricity, etc. All we really need is healthcare, food, water and shelter! Humans are creatures of survival. Be willing to fend for yourself if the time ever comes. Learn survival skills if you are worried!

Since it was a cashless society, they made his bank card NOT WORK so he had no access to funds to live on. Thats what they want today, to keep everyone in line. It is not a new concept but I do believe it makes a bigger gap for those who can and for those who can't. The ones that can't have to go without or wait for hand me downs. Of course with this it is all to do with making money and some companies do this extremely well or other wise they wouldn't do it. There also seems to be a lot more buy now and pay later companies. People always fall for them and they can end up in a right pickle. Parents should be warning their young adult children of these traps but it is hard they all want to make their own mistakes and they do. No one should be so trusting of such companies as they can not be trusted.

They're just another greedy money-grabbing scheme by companies too lazy to actually come up with anything new for their customers to waste money on. All it takes is for the company to decide they no longer want to bother with a particular service / product, and you're stuck. For example, this often happens with streaming TV or music services where they lose the rights and suddenly the show / music is no longer available. Whereas if you buy the DVD or CD, it is yours to watch any time you want, forever (or at least as long as you can find a device that still plays it!). In terms of actual devices, cars, etc., such subscriptions have been around for a long time - it's called leasing or renting. Apple was thinking about providing a subscription service for they iPhone smartphones, but it is now being reported that they have decided to not go ahead with the idea. Many telecoms companies already have a leasing option where you can get the new phone model every year while paying an over-priced monthly fee.

What good is a city if there's no petrol in the trucks to bring the food in. Like every person has to leave the city in starvation desperately looking for food, Absolute crazy civil war every one for them selves raiding every house trying to get something to eat. It can not be achieved. Like I mentioned the true meaning of the wizard of OZ the other day. When all the farmers and miners and children, and other workers bind together, the Banks and the government, are next to nothing. Maybe try and watch 97 percent owned on Youtube, and you might understand. I often think has it reached 98 percent owned yet. The high bankers think when they achieve 100 percent owned, then they will only be able to give people the oportunity to rent things off them. here is a 2:10 version of it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XcGh1Dex4Yo&t=6612s though there are many other shortenned versions of it. I thought the first time I watched it in 2012 ir was more like 2:32 So some way or other some of the secrets keep trying to get taken out of it.

I don't drive anymore and take public transport so you do have to pay for that. What you pay for is your choice so it's up to you if you go down that road so temptation is the thing they dangle in front of you and it is always your decision, it's up to you. Drive one for a year ,latest model, then the next year same again. Never truly owned it outright, just kept paying their set fee per month but had the newest car. I had this very same conversation with my son this week. And it comes in line with the other survey in regards to " new and improved". Manufacturers will make even the slightest change and thus a new product is born. No fixing the fridge or oven you bought 5 years ago, trying to find the parts alone is a nightmare. And if you do manage to find it it's cheaper to buy new. Also reminds me of the micro chipping stories that floated a few years ago. No bank accounts, no money ,just a chip in your hand/arm to scan to pay for everything with all your details on it. May have seemed laughable back then, not so much now. Sometimes I wonder when we are asked questions in surveys like how we would feel about going shopping how much " virtual" assistance would we be happy to have, no products on shelves just scanning barcodes, virtual stores, uploading your image and using it to try on clothes and the like what the future will look like. We already do this with choosing paint colours, flooring for homes etc. One day there will be no stores, banks, etc. Just rows and rows of tiny little houses ,massive manufacturing plants and warehouses that ship out products and even bigger recycling plants and tips,no more green space like parks, they will all be virtual.

Boy, was I surprised that it wouldn't work until I signed up for the latest version of Microsoft, which happens to be via a yearly subscription. I returned the keyboard and got a refund and tried to cancel the subscription to Microsoft but the money grubbing pricks still took the money from my PayPal account. It does seem to be the way things are going unfortunately.

There will be push back and there will be refusal and making do and doing without. Some of us lived without cellphones, and computers for several decades and we can do it again. We have skills and knowledge that will help us get by. People in the city and burbs will be more controlled but a lot of rural areas are left and people are not going to move willing into the city or suburbs. We will survive There has actually been resistance in some regions and areas around the globe. People can live without a lot of things they think they need but they are just wants not needs however if they don't have the skills, knowledge and wisdom they will not do so well. We will have a cashless society soon and the NWO will implement compliance or we cannot buy or sell. But there is barter and trade. Many people will not survive and die. Some from famine /starvation, some from diseases and sickness, some will be enslaved, some murdered. Some from floods, and hurricanes and bad weather or fires. NWO wants 15-30 minute cities as well. We might not have electricity to play movies or music. Better buy books, games, cards, and musical instrumants that can be utilized for entertainment. Learn to can, dry and preserve what food you can and to gather food as well. I know and have those skills and knowledge as do my adult children and some of my grandchildren as well. Do you know edible wild food and what is poison or not. Yes mushrooms, berries, catkins, and how to fix them. Wild game as well is another thing to trap or use other means for food, having a water source that is year around is also imperative. Do you know how to make food from scratch? Beans and Legumes and Rice and Oatmeal and Cornmeal or something you will need and flour, honey, sugar, salt, spices, Canned foods of various type and dried goods. Peanut butter and canned milk, powdered milk. Pastas are all important. The only perfection is for the elite wealthy everyone else will be their servants this has been desired for a couple centuries to get back to Lords, Ladies, Kings, Queens, Royalty and serfs and peon's. If you refuse they will consider you a criminal and you better know how to survive. They will leave some alone to the elements thinking they will die but not everyone will there will be survivors. The so called future the powers that be desire will not last they have never lasted. They will be overthrown an conquered as well. If you have no faith or belief you will comply if you have a faith you will survive and will not comply. It is not paranoia it is being prepared and ready for anything.

Once upon a time (in America) it was called the Robber Barons (aka Captains of Industry) of the Gilded Age - you own absolutely nothing, and you are forever in crushing debt (design to break your spirit so you will NOT revolt). Now we are going through 'AI' era - where humans are slowly being replaced by software - you will own absolutely nothing, and you are forever in crushing debt (design to break your spirit so you will NOT revolt). History continuously repeats itself with the ultimate goal being the 'many' being under the control of a 'few' these days - known as Corporate CEO(s). The concept is not new or shocking (you will own absolutely nothing, and you are forever in crushing debt (design to break your spirit so you will not revolt))!

Which is secretly how things have been going since 1913 anyway. they have almost achieved their goal of 100 percent owned.

Oh, and I suppose the mobile phone has become a must have - so there are 2 things of mine.

Maybe it means 100% owned? I put a youtube link above can explain things maybe. Banks own a lot more than people think through loans, then even more with Credit cards, and even more with buy now pay later stuff, and the oportunities for someone not to own something they think is there's seems to keep growing. So maybe all those things can grow so much, that savings accounts are no longer possible. So the only option will be to rent it off the bank. Debt is paid with debt, and paying interest creates inflation. Still in truth what good is it for 1 banker to try and sleep on 12 billion pillows at night if they can really sleep on 1 or 2. So it is kind of dumb in that way. It just makes the banker feel better, if every one has to pay rent to them every time they want to sleep. Of course if we can do things with out the use of money in anyway we can still own them. Eating a piece of food grown on your own land, might not be your's anymore. Because the bank owned your land, and the bank owned the seed through some form that is going to be legal. Still if it goes this far will only form mass rebelions probably.

I have seen absurd things like subscribe for a mattress care plan, infotainment/mapping service for your car, rent or subscribe for clothes and toys, subscribe to share cars etc. In the long run, they make more money by extracting more money from you every month than by you buying what you need, when you need it. Sure, the businesses and entrepreneurs will own everything and you will own nothing and be at their mercy (or that is their ultimate plan).
