because the cost to set up that type of equipment would be too high and would not help the grid as much as you think. YOU have to pay the cost of the equipment set up and upgrade cost of the equipment itself, so are you willing to add a lot of additional costs to the exercise equipment you buy for such a low improvement to the grid? Remember they are referring to the GRID, not something simple like charging a cell or laptop. I'm not!

I don't think it will work very well here in North America. Exercise is an evil word and the price is somewhat of a problem. If it's free, then something must be wrong with it or it's a trap of some sort.

I have seen fitness parks in QLD but not in other states, a good idea, but takes funding away from our fitness centres that people sign up to and then forget and never use but still get charged for membership.

We used to do that here in AU but dumped it for new technology is was called School of the Air and allowed people in the country to get some schooling.

Yup of course this has been thoght of many times you need to get gym machines manufacturers and gym owners behind it. It is not only the generation but how about the storage

I have seen bicycles with blenders attached to the handle bars so that you can blend a fruit smoothie with as you pedal a (stationary) bike. That's what you call reward for effort.

They put that idea on Gilligan's Island years ago! Did it have to get as bad as it is for simple ideas to be brought back into use? Puget Sound Energy does great things for our area in the Pacific Northwest. I take part in a few programs that reward me, and I don't have to have solar panels or a wind mill! ;-D

An interesting concept for those who are physically able or want to do this, can you imagine what Governments would say though given some have a propensity to ignore simple solutions.

Great idea, but the powers that be don't want it. They want control. Seeing, they are reducing FIT in OZ to almost zero cents. And raising power costs. If it was about honesty, they could have put tower fans as uprights like ME/Asia where flats power self, when no wind you can go out and turn on manual fan. BUT in west it is about Control

Now I’m on board with that idea. But, how would you go about drawing up , let’s say, a two year plan in order to approach whom ever you would need to talk too? You would need to be firm when presenting your fines and research into the idea. And by chance, what would be your next step if they say your idea won’t work when you clearly know that it will. Like you stated, every little bit helps.
