Littering everywhere

Over the past few weeks, I've noticed more garbage thrown along hiking trails. This includes old vehicle parts, old washing machines, hoses, plastic containers, and the list goes on and on. I live up North in Canada, and I used to enjoy hiking as many trails as possible. I'm now disgusted by the mess people are making. Some of the people have bush parties, they cook all types of foods etc. When the parties are over, they leave all the trash in the woods. Do they not take into consideration the poor animals living in the woods with their babies, that their rubbish can be hazardous to them? There is a clean-up crew, but they are fighting a losing battle. There aren't any by-laws around to charge those making the mess. What is the answer here? What can be done to stop this insanity?
