General Topic
Covid-19 has been here for nearly 2 years and is here to stay. We need things to cheer us up. Close your eyes and imagine, what do you miss most about normal life?

We are all totally sick of discussion pages about covid...we are also totally sick about hearing about and dealing with covid...these things are at least contributing to our poor health and inability to cope...and you personally Edward should find something else to talk about...it was tiresome a couple of weeks ago and now it is far worse...we need to embrace the present, concentrate on the positives and look forward to a better future...your above comments are pure poison...sorry mate...but think about what you are saying ...people are killing themselves...and they don't need any help into descending into depression....

andrew1 This topic page is trying to get people's minds OFF covid-19 and get them thinking about their future, thinking about what they will get up to when we get out of lockdown etc.... YOU obviously misread that point.

No, it IS about covid. You are not asking "Close your eyes and imagine ... something". You are asking about covid

Yes I miss our travelling days, just sold our caravan as we don't want to do any travelling like that now. Fears if we did boarders would close and we would be stuck some where we do not want to be for a long time. Certainly took freedom for granted back then. Happy where we are now and have no plans of moving again. Taking one day at a time and staying put.

I miss people shaking hands or hugging each other. I miss being able to breath because I have to wear a mask everywhere because I am immuno compromised. I missed two of my Grandchildren's graduation and gender reveals for my two new Great Grandbabies. I miss going anywhere I want to because I have to be cautious so I am limited. And most of all I miss my family members who died from Covid because otherwise they would still be here. And I miss the light in my Grandchildren who have suffered from this loss. They are forever changed.

I can handle just about anything but wearing masks when out and about is really annoying me so I'd have to say I miss being mask free when I leave home. I feel so uncomfortable wearing them and I hate to think what it will feel like when it's really hot weather.

I hate wearing masks as well because it makes the glasses fog up, plus I have emphysema and lung cancer so the masks make it harder to breathe, especially in hot weather. If I remember correctly we were wearing face masks last Summer. I also miss seeing people's smiling faces plus when you are being served at the supermarket checkout in addition to the face masks they have the perplex screen between you and them which makes it hard to hear each other. I recently heard on TV that some people are getting rashes on their face as a result of the face masks. An alternative to wearing face masks is wearing a "Face Shield" like doctors and nurses. It is possible that because covid-19 is here to stay many people might eventually switch to wearing face shields because health officials claim the virus enters our body via our mouth and noses; meaning our open crevices; therefore the virus would obviously also enter our body through our eye sockets and pores in our skin therefore face shields offer more protection

I stopped wearing my glasses when I know I will be wearing a mask because of the fogging. Luckily I only really need to leave home to shop twice a week and to volunteer for around 4 hours twice a week. We weren't wearing masks in Adelaide last summer. It's only really become a regular requirement this year during our winter.

Walking around and seeing people smiling rather than just a pair of eyes above a face mask.

I agree....Also I remember the days when you had to remove face coverings when going into banks and how those banks kicked up a fuss when Muslim females walked into their banks and refused to uncover their faces....NOW, it is compulsory that we ALL wear face masks ....how the world changes

Keep your chin up high; it will happen again one day soon. When it does please continue to take precautions to protect yourself .... The world has changed forever, but what we miss, will one day become a reality again.... I am also retired for over 20 years due to medical issues... What countries have you previously been to?
