Are we living in a world where the water that comes out of the tap is not drinkable?

Can't stand the plasticky taste of bottle water yucky! I grew up on farm with rain water and unfortunately this has turned me into a fussy water person. Tap water in city water supply is gross. As a result I only drink town supply tap water that is filtered or distilled. You should see the nasties that are left at the bottom of the distiller YUCK!

I was on rain water in the country. Moved closer to town but still rural with town supply water. When I turned on the tap I could smell the chlorine and the taste was horrid. So I collect rain water and filter it. The day I buy bottled water is the day I might as well burn my $$$.

and the trouble with chlorinated water is it's no good for goldfish., neither is Grommie good for goldfish, either ! Because chlorine is considered to be extremely volatile, it will evaporate without much issue. If you don’t want to spend money to get rid of chlorine in your water, the chlorine will eventually evaporate if you simply leave the water to stand. While this option is nearly as effective as filtration, it’s much more time-consuming. 24 hours usually, I leave the water before adding it to fish tanks.
