At the age of 20 I received my call up papers for the Army and at the time Australia was involved in Vietnam War.

For me it was no big deal, I was happy to go off and have an adventure.

Certainly, the training was hard, as was the war service, but I learnt skills, and self-discipline, that I have been able t call on throughout my life.

However, whilst I enjoyed my Service, not everyone would have done so, for others may have viewed it as legal slavery.

What opinions do others have on this?
