Apple Strudel

Ingredients:
- 4 apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 puff pastry sheet, thawed
- Powdered sugar, for dusting
Directions:
1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. In a bowl, combine the sliced apples, sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Set aside.
3. Roll out the puff pastry sheet onto the prepared baking sheet.
4. Sprinkle the breadcrumbs over the puff pastry, leaving a border around the edges.
5. Arrange the apple mixture on top of the breadcrumbs.
6. Drizzle the melted butter over the apples.
7. Fold the edges of the puff pastry over the apple mixture, creating a rustic crust.
8. Brush the pastry with a bit of melted butter.
9. Bake in the preheated oven for 25 30 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and the apples are tender.
10. Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly.
11. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
Tips:
- Serve the apple strudel warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream for an extra treat.
- Experiment with different apple varieties for unique flavor profiles in your strudel.
- Feel free to add raisins or chopped nuts to the apple mixture for added texture.
