Almond Slices | ||
4 eggs 1 cup of Sugar 1teaspoon Vanilla Extract 1/2 cup of Cornstarch 1/2 cup of All Purpose Flour 1 Litre of Milk 100g Butter 1 cup of Heavy Cream 500g Puff Pastry Sheets Almond Flakes Sugar Powder Method: Beat eggs & sugar together, add the vanilla extract & cornstarch & beat well together. Then add the flour & whisk well, make sure there is no lumps. Transfer all of this into a pot & add the milk & mix well. Cook over medium heat stirring until it thickens. Take it off from the heat & add the butter & mix it well. In another bowl, pour in the heavy cream & beat it for a while add the egg mixture from the pot slowly in & mix it all together really well till all mixture is really creamy. Then Take a layer of puff pastry lay it flat, spread the mixture all over the sheet. Grab another sheet of puff pastry and lay it on top to cover it. Cut it in 1/2 then into slices. Brush all the top of the pastry with an egg yolk and sprinkle almonds flakes on top & bake in oven 350F or 180C for 15 minutes. Dust the top with sugar powder & enjoy. | ||
