Is anyone getting through these new lime surveys? I have done a couple but they are discriminating. They pay well but too bad if we don't work!! VERY unfair in my book.

Just wasted my time on LI-Q7MC5Y worth 1350 points. I spent 30 minutes on it and I was right at 96% of the survey (the progress meter was in full display), and then it told me I was screened out. No point contacting Support as they are useless. They will just write to tell you that yes they have checked with the survey company and you do not qualify. Why let me go through the whole survey then?

Oui oui!! Said with great gusto as it's always unexpected. Have completed and received tasty points for 2 this very week. "Celebration Time Come on!".

"Oh my God!" came from blasphemy through to a shocking outburst about something really important to initials only to be used in general conversation about just about anything ... valueless. LOL were the initials of "Laugh Out Loud", a simple condensed form to show something was REALLY funny, now it too is sprinkled everywhere, meaningless and worthless. I went to the shops lol ... its like its like its like...no it is usually not like anything else ... it just...

Apropos your last sentence I heard today the new abbreviation is “mpox”.
A few years ago I heard of a woman who was mortified when she found out the LOL she put on a “with sympathy” card did not mean “lots of love”.

If you could go back to when you were just starting out, what would you do differently, knowing now what you didn't know then. Would you marry the same person, buy your house somewhere different, have kids, go for more holidays or train in a different kind of work?
APB
Its a tricky one...you don't just know more now...you are probably quite a different person too...I don't know how I would get on with myself when I was 23....radically different to now....your life experiences have contributed a lot to who you are at the moment...if you tinker in the past you will be different in the present...its all connected and hopefully a learning experience

I hope people are paying attention the survey rewards and NOT doing ones that offer ridiculous rewards for the time spent. This just encourages poor rewards for everybody. I have posted before that the general rule to see if the reward is at least fair is it shoukd equate to around $6 per hour. Of course there are better sites out there that pay more but that is a good starting point. Doing surveys for trivial amounts like the 2 green ones presently listed, one 10 mins for...

Yesterday's 30 point bonus for playing Drop and Merge was a rip off. I'm 71 and need a hip replacement, but even I don't have over three hours to spend trying to get an extra 30 points. At one stage I gained 1168 points ( not that far off the leader board and it gave me 2 points! This is just plain ridiculous and I have written and told them so - especially as I stuck it out until I had 31 points and they didn't credit me with the bonus today! First time I've commented on here but that is just plain ridiculous. Like recently when they offered 300 points if you gained 1000 points on Blue surveys in a 36m hour period and there were NONE.

We all know how tornados form, but why exactly? In my opinion ever since climate change happened a lot of stuff is now happening, but tornados has gone down a lot what I mean by that is not many tornados are being seen well in most area's they're not being seen as much why?

It's like everything else in nature, it changes. Some years we have lots of snow or frosty mornings. Some years we have lots of rain. Years of droughts and years of floods. Look back at history and you'll see Egypt had droughts then floods. It's just a natural cycle. However, when it comes to damage that is purely due to population. We have always had hail storms. I have photo's of me as a child holding huge hail stones, but back then there wasn't much damage. About 6 years ago a hail storm went through and our house fared pretty well but a new suburb that had just popped up and had 4 houses per quarter acre instead of 1 copped it badly. All you could see was blue tarps over roofs, and they were there for months with not enough tradesman and insurance companies trying to assess the damage. The storm was no worse than usual but there were far more homes than previously.

I have a very large backyard pool with all the required fencing and surrounds. The pool inspector visited our house, and it did not pass inspection because of a spindly, scraggy shrub outside the fence the first time that inspection cost $350, the final inspection we passed another $200 paid. We also replaced one fence that was deemed pool safe a few years ago, but is now longer deemed safe. We will have to pay to have the pool inspected all over again in 3 years time...

we had an outdoor spa and had to do the same thing, the cost was getting ridiculous, so we pulled it out and filled it in.

Wanted to watch the Grand final of the women's European soccer cup 2022...not available on TV...even the goals not available on the various news services went to YouTube...some young guy took me along to Wembley...along with his two mates...up into the stands to really experience being there...and filmed all the best bits and the crowds around him...it was about the best TV coverage of a soccer match... I felt like I had really been there...that is all I...

In the 1950s and 60s we used to listen to the Saturday football (what is now AFL) on the radio. We thought all our Christmases had come at once when it was played – of course in black and white - on television.

Embarrasing..i was rushing to get a workvisit kit and left the Hospital car with the brake off- came back and it had rolled into a handrail. ThankGod it didn't hit anyone. Also left handbrake off when rushing our newborn pups into vets for checkup. Dented car and didn't want to tell hubby and managed to sneak it to panelbeaters and get it back next day fixed without him knowing. Er there's been a few other handbrake incidents too. I try to avoid parking on hills or slopes these days.

The speed limits in Australia are far too draconian, if you stick to the mandatory speed limits when overtaking you would stand a good chance of being killed or involved in a head-on collision. Australians are not taught how to overtake and the law as it stands does not permit safe overtaking, if you overtake a lorry or a car that speeds up, and you have to exceed the speed limit you can and will be done for speeding, it appears the Police have no discretion or prefer to not use...
Hoop
As a motorbike rider, all drivers are the devil to me/us.. I am highly trained and always ride within my limits. I ride to the conditions. If I overtake or pass, I do it quickly and with great thought. I do not want to be anywhere near cars or trucks. Of couse this is said in hindsight, but bike riders know what I am talking about.

When we first moved to our present home, we discovered a weird-looking plant called homalocladium platycladium. It is also known as a tapeworm plant or centipede plant, which describes it well. It has flat segmented branches instead of the usual rounded ones. Do you have any unusual plants?
Elizabeth J 447888
Last year I was wandering through Coles supermarket and saw a Stingray plant. It has big green, glossy leaves which are round with a long green tail - just exactly the shape of a Stingray. I just had to have it.

If you could only pick one food item to describe you, what would you choose? It could be anything like a type of beverage, a specific cereal brand or confectionery, a type of cake or biscuit or a fast food item, a fruit, a vegetable, a particular cut of meat or a type of dish for example. So what would you choose and why?

While music changed radically in the 1960's, the need to have funny lyrics and songs survived and thrived...aside from funny bands like the Bonzos and the Scaffold...bands from the Beatles to Madness to Ian Dury...all managed to write funny songs...why does everyone take themselves so seriously nowadays?...what ever happened to fun?
lippy loo
All these rap songs are so hard to understand or full of anger or foul language. Some may like it but who remembers any of these so called songs. Many of the 60's music is still played everywhere these days. Some are classics. There are a few songs these days which are good but it seems a lot are sung with nasally whiney voices and again hard to understand. If it is not sung in this fashion then we have to put up with women dressed skimpily and gyrating across the screens. I do not think there is much talent being shown

Should we believe the weather forecaster when they always seem to be wrong? The only time they get it right is in the middle of a thunderstorm or cyclone. What do others think?
Kristina
They are almost always wrong. My dogs actually act funny right before we get the bad weather, as of lately I tend to depend on my dogs for bad weather. Weather stations are usually way off or the weather starts before their predictions.

Does winning the lottery really change your life for the better? Do you know anyone who did win a big won? What was the biggest win you've had so far?
IdentifyAs
I've never won anything big but I was grateful for small wins which came along when I could really use it. I know one person who won a large amount, she thought her own crap didn't smell. I'm the luckiest woman anyway, three grown kids and two beautiful grandkids. Survived breast cancer.

Does anyone else feel as though time is speeding up? Or is it just my mother and I, who feel this way? It just seems like, one minute it's Monday, and, what seems like only 5 minutes later, it's Friday. (Well, maybe a little longer, but you get the drift). Love to hear your thoughts, on this one.
freckes
it is our perception of time that changes. you feel time is "flying by" as you get older. go back to your early years, ie about 6 to 10 years of age. your birthday, christmas, school holidays, easter, they all seemed to take forever to get there. it is all your age perception. ask a person in a convalescent home who lay in bed all day, bet their time goes very slowly

I worked in a Nursing Home, where I witnessed an AIN pushing over a resident, calling him a stupid old man. I went straight to the Deputy to report it. She told me that I should be nice to this girl, because she was having a hard time at home. I was absolutely shocked that this could not only happen, but there were zero repercussions for someone who was supposed to be giving care to the frail, elderly residents.

Does anyone notice weather changes in air pressure affecting their joints, aches and pains? A physio said there is anecdotal evidence people with certain conditions appear to act like a barometer. I know I have predicted rain when it was not on the radar.

During cold weather my knees ache. Rarely both and walking is painful. I usually put on the stretch supports and this helps. Yet this cold weather my knees are fine. I have had one dry eye for a year now. I have tried many drops. Just recently I tried another more intensive drops recommended by the Pharmacist. I thought this is great my first night went very well. Next night I awoke with the same problem. Not as bad but who knows tonight. It is horrible when the whole eyelid sticks to the whole eye ball. Scary especially when it impairs your vision. Getting old is not pleasant.

I don't think that people are too different between all the various states in Australia...and I think that this applies in the USA as well. I don't understand why Queenslanders cannot buy alcohol in a supermarket ... or why Victorians can buy certain drugs in theirs ... is driving at 110 only the best speed in certain states..and in others it is set at 100?.....there is really very little difference between us...it IS just one country...why can't we just have one...
Hohum
Haha, it's simple really, It depends how much revenue the various states need. For example, if not enough people break the speed limit at 110 then reduce it to 100 etc.

So before having a child I have seen mothers clubbing etc. Fathers doing same. After baby, mother compromise and stay home to look after but fathers continue with same life. Why is that the case and what can change that.

We both worked til I decided to chuck in my job because I was sick of daycare spending more time with the kids than us. I was also earning more as a labourer than my partner in the foundry. I never wanted a night out clubbing and he stopped going to his Friday nights out with the boys after work. It wasn't about us anymore but our boys so our social lives were irrelevant. And he may wear the pants in the house but I'm the one that buys them! Lol!

A lot of my neighbors, here in the States, have "Ring" doorbells installed. Or, another type of technology to replace their "doorbells". Another thing, many have so many gadgets, from speakers to their light fixtures being operated through the internet. It s like a spy organization cinematic plot, from earpieces to hidden cameras on one's bow tie. It's incredible, yet very impersonal. What are your thoughts on these Technological Devices?
JoeB
It can be good for your security but it can also be highly invasive. Care needs to be taken with your liberty. Lol.... I laughed so much she biffed a sausage at me. Too much reliance on modern technology can be hazardous...lol

Do you think that the title mum or dad is something that needs to be earned? Just because you have a kid that is biologically yours doesn't mean you deserve to be called a mum or a dad?! I believe that those titles need to be earned. And you are only a mum or a dad if you step up and are actually involved in your childs life all the time. Not just when it is convenient to you or when you can be bothered to be a parent!
Dada WA
does that same rational go for kids. If you have 2 kids and one is a doctor and the other is a dole bludger on drugs. Does that child no longer deserve to be called your child?

Do you use Apple Pay, Samsung Pay or, even Google Pay? What about PayPal or other online banks? Do you feel they are safe? Will Cash be a thing of the past, like bartering? Rarely used and rarely accepted? What are your thoughts on this change that seems to be inevitable?
Maria B 89860
I can remember the feeling of satisfaction when we used to get paid in cash, kept a little for expenses, train or bus fares lunch money and paid board and the rest got put in the bank and it stayed in the bank. None of this direct deposit and losing track of how much gets withdrawn bit by bit for all and sundry to track where you spent what.
I only use PayPal to receive survey payments and am quick to transfer it to a real bricks and mortar bank account. Don't like the way the banking system is heading with all the online no face to face person contact ... not knowing who of what purpose your money is being used as it accumulates a pitance in interest.

Should all children care be free for working parents. A lots of peoples pay a lots of money to put a child in day care. Some country give free or less money. Austria almost all day care needed are free. In some others country children have better place for child to go children care. So what do you think and why.
Lones
Stay home with your children, live within your means. If we didn’t try to keep up with joneses, appreciated the way our parents bought us up and appreciated that time that you miss from putting your children in care. Before you know it they are gone and you’re an empty nester. Why have children if you’re not going to nurture, and spend those precious years with them

Why are so many people rude to supermarket staff. We are human too we have good days and bad days. We have things going on outside of work that we worry / stress about. It's not our fault something isn't in stock or has run out. We have zero control over what the company we work for does!
Fortuna
It's what I call the 'kicking the dog' principle. If they are having a bad day, they'll take it out on whoever is nearby. I didn't work retail, but I worked a job as a cleaner during day hours. I encountered a lot of rude, nasty people. Just consider the source.

Whatever happened to cars being sold either new or used with a spare tire in the boot? What is a driver supposed to do if they get a flat tire when on a long trip? Are we all supposed to pay and have someone waste their time to fix the tire. If this is what is expected of drivers today, then why have a wheel brace and a jack in the boot for the sole purpose of changing a tire!
Pato Lo Duck
Just a thought, how many of you regularly check the air pressure in your spare tyre. A flat spare is the same as no spare..!!

Have you seen how big strawberries are now? They look like they're on steroids. Fruit is seasonal, it's not meant to be eaten all the year around. All these preservatives and crap they throw into our foods is what is causing our food intolerance and gut issues
Neo
Food is tastiest when in season (that is why there are seasons). Preserving was invented so we could have fruit and vegetables out of season/stock up for winter/not waste a good growing season.
I believe lots of gut issues and intolerances go further back than just today's preservatives. Best health information is, and always has been "eat everything in moderation". Unfortunately, when women are pregnant, they are told by "experts" not to eat this or that while they are pregnant and this is the first stop to helping the eliminated food become recognised as an allergen to the immune system of the forming foetus. These people then "breast feed" for the best of their child but still eliminate these foods for health reasons so, by the time the food is introduced to the child, the child's natural immune response is "this should not be in my body and needs to be attacked" (allergic reaction)

The only reason governments won't legalise cannabis is because big pharma will take a huge hit. It's all about money. Alcohol kills more people than weed ever will, that is a certainty.

This is a simple dish to put together. It is very popular in our cooking school. The grinding with a mortar and pestle can be a bit hard, but you can throw the ingredients into a mixer. It does however lack a bit of flavour that way. The presentation is a bit rough, but I actually used the mix to make lemongrass chicken pies. The cost of living has really impacted hard on so many families as we head into Christmas In my small family we are only spending money on gifts for children and have done so for a couple of years. Do you still buy gifts for adults or only children?

I don't have a child or children. I don't give gifts to a child or children on Christmas Day (which is a pagan holiday). I was raised an agnostic and became an atheist. Vacations can be a chance to take a break from, not just work, but typical food routines, too. That can lead to weight gain, but it's probably water weight, not fat, a dietitian said. Weight gained after a vacation is nothing to stress about and is completely normal. What would you say? Is it normal to gain 2kg on holiday?

We have private rooms for private messaging via Google.... people's pictures can be put up via their avatars and now added to things like their recipes and discussions or polls .
These can either be personal photographs or taken from another social media source like pinterest or facebook or instagram ..all of which constitutes copying and pasting / sharing posts / uploading from one social media site to another ! We can like or comment on eachother's forum posts in the chats otherwise known as a thread ... Keeping safe online here is still very much warranted as are the rules for using other social media sites. Yes we have limitations here ,but there is live chat in the bingo room and the ability to share video clips from media sites along with putting up with a multitude of annoying advertising , people's mad misinformation and some trolls even .. yep I would most definitely call this a social media website ;)

An easy midweek Vegie meal or perfect for a side dish .. Method = Grab an eggplant or two or more! Slice them in half lengthways ( Visitors coming? Well keep the stem on them too for presentation !) Then season with salt and cracked pepper. Place face down into a non-stick baking tray which is drizzled with a good dose of olive oil . ( You can add some slices of fresh garlic to this if you like ) Put another drizzle over the tops of them and stick...

Meh, swap out the eggplant (half my family is allergic) for some chicken or veal and it might work...

As a lactose free person, I believe I am being overcharged for my coffee/latte as now I am being asked for an additional amount ranging from 50 cents to $1 to cover the soy or almond milk. However the cost of soy or almond milk at the supermarket is only 10 cents a litre more than normal or skim milk. My lactose free coffee/latte only requires a small amount of soy/ almond milk. So why should it be acceptable in our coffee loving society today to rip off those who are unable...

What has gone wrong with the young males of today. Another school embroiled in young men taking the faces/head photos of social media and doing an AI attachment of a nude body to them and posting so many on line. Where has their common decency gone. Lack of respect towards girls and women has become endemic in recent years. WHY......? Are parents, schools, older generations not teaching them? Are they just brats who think they are cute or funny? Have men...
APB
We have been able to do this with photos (without AI) for over 30 years...anybody who is skilled can do this in Photoshop...so what has changed recently?....little girls now spend hours photographing themselves.. pouting and vamping it up...with their new phones and post them all over the internet...and little boys have easy access to to these..and pornography....and also now have software that makes attaching heads to bodies so easy that every moron can do this to a reasonable level....what's changed?...technology...that's all...if you don't want your head attached to a naked body stop posting it everywhere... in multiple views. different lighting and angles.. online....easy to use.....you know it can happen...just wake up and pay attention....if they made the software illegal it would stop immediately...

So I have 34 pending surveys and the HIGHEST point survey rates is one of 275 points. Yes 27 cents. Ummmm. The difficulty in such a survey completion is to know where to safely invest such a large sum. But I notice the top one (A 275 points Orange Survey) shows it is just a total survey of 1 minute long survey to complete it as noted by Rewardia. UmmmI thought. I will do it but then it as usual the survey asks me endless questions...

Wow ,nothing so scary as that . The sleeping Arabs at Tehran airport with their turbans were a bit of a shock as an 11yr old from down under I would say ,, apart from that I was suprised in Fiji at having to say Bula ( hello) to everyone basically from the airport security ,cleaners ,police in their long skirts ... everyone! At first I was getting exhausted from it a bit . And they will eyeball you coming your way too so you don't miss the opportunity. Kids waving out of the buses with no windows iin them while you're driving next to them "Bula !" ,, When I got back here I missed it, I walked past someone in my own street ,they just looked down kept walking by .. usual city behaviours ..

No! Too much government control there. I don't trust any government, no matter where they are on the political spectrum, not to abuse power if they control everything. Throw a switch, and you can't buy groceries. Your BMI is too high so you cost the government too much in health care. No birthday cake for you! When another government hacks in, you are stuck. And let's not forget the Greek government a few years (5?) back. 10% off the top of people's accounts to help with the bail-out. No thanks, I'll want cash to pay for things when the network is down.

If you take a look back in history, carrying a few extra pounds was a sign of wealth because rich people were the only ones that could afford fattening food. Fast forward to 2020 and junk food is cheaper than healthy food and poor people are fatter than rich people. One would assume if we were to raise the price of junk food exponentially. Our health would improve. Thoughts?

Falling prey to a con artist can be a humiliating and often expensive exercise. Many cons end in costly court cases, even imprisonment, and that's just for the victims. The perpetrators often appear to be charismatic and charming, but they re far more likely to be narcissistic risk-takers who revel in power and control. Have you ever met anyone of such charismatic and complex character?

My ex-wife is charismatic and charming (still CUTE and still has a BODY (not a good foundation for a marriage) - which is still amazing since my ex-wife is eleven years older than me - still a SCAM ARTIST (Does a tiger lose its' stripes as it gets older?) - I guess we all play the FOOL (I know I did) at some point in our Lifes (and your money is going to part from you under suspicious circumstances while you are playing the FOOL). Trainers became fashionable in the late 1970s you had the cool looking shoe mounted on a bed of what looked a lot like silicone...and then a hard wearing sheet of sole with grip marks on the bottom...you bounced around, you walked on air, I could work 16-hour shifts in a kitchen on concrete floors and my feet were fine...these would always last at least a year...and a lot more........now they look "cooler"...more colours, more styles....most give you "firm" support or...

That's called MARKETING. I have some Sketchers I have been wearing for years, I pop them in the wash. All these trendy shoes are for those woke people who want to make a statement..hey look at me I'm exercising and boo hoo to you old fat idiots. All you do is see how the shoes feel on your feet. I go to clearance shops that have premium leather school shoes at a much lower price.

What are your thoughts about "value" we can find anywhere these days? You would think that paying more equals getting better, safer and healthier products of higher quality, but is it always the case?
Bugalugs
No of course a Higher Price does not mean better value. Take a trip into one of those very up-market Department Stores and those dinky little Boutiques offering, supposedly Designer Gear, Exclusive Brands by Haute Couture Houses of Fashion. Grossly over Priced garments but ALL Made in China, India, Bangladesh and other slave-to super-low Income countries. We went in to one of those Department Stores, up the escalator and into the Women's Fashion Floor. There at the top of the escalator was a display of a well-know designer. Faded Jeans with selectively placed "Tears", Price? A not-so-cool $695.00! The top? It looked liked a woman's vest-cum-Tee shirt with a tiny single row of "lace" around the neckline. The price? An equally not-so-cool $435.00!
My female companion unbuttoned the top couple of buttons on her blouse to reveal an identical top with exactly the same single row of "lace". Price at the Local Market? $15.00. Our local Op Shop sells faded Levi Jeans with naturally worn, strategically sited holes - just like the Designer jeans at $695 for just $10! - I know this because they were my jeans! The only reason I was not still wearing them was because I don't think it is appropriate for Mature Age Men and Women to dress as if they were in their late teens! Brand, Price and Designer Labels mean Nothing.

In Australia...1 kg of sugar always cost $1....for a really long time....then a few years ago...it went up to $1.09...and finally $1.10...OK...three weeks ago all new supplies of sugar are now $1.60...no natural disasters...no explanation and absolutely no apology from anyone...I've told people and they say it doesn't matter and why am I complaining...am I the only person to have noticed this?...and does everyone else think that this is quite normal?....if they did that...

I used to assume when I saw a woman in gym wear/activewear, that she was off to the gym. Only to discover, it was a fashion trend. How did this happen? Is society on a downward slide? I prefer to dress elegantly but each to their own I guess.
APB
How did it happen?.....it was a gradual process, starting in the 1970's when gay men started wearing trainers when they had no intention to do any training...that quickly spread to the whole population...then we had "girl power" which meant the only way to be equal to men was to wear your bra on the outside and wander around half naked...this has now filtered down to the general population...it can be a blessing or a curse depending on how much fat is crammed into very small quantities of a semi see through stretch material....each to their own....

My p.o.v, from the 12 year old me I'd say yes, it is important to go school and get good grades to get a good job for your future, but now? I wouldn't really know.. I've met people who say they finished school, had good grades and graduated all just to end up in McDonald's, apparently "grades" does not matter at all when it comes to a job? Thoughts?
ZoeC
School is not just about grades. School is about learning how to develop social skills, to negotiate, to converse, to organise your time, to learn about what is appropriate in different contexts ... the list goes on. These are all vital skills for the workforce. They may not help you get a job initially, but they will certainly help you keep it, and they improve your chances of progressing in work that you really enjoy.
