Does anyone who struggles in financial stress experience hard out depression? Work part-time. Trying to get more hours. Can't live comfortably, and it's starting to mentally affect me where I feel like I'm going crazy. My money goes to rent and food, and I have barely anything left. Makes me wonder, what is the meaning of life? :(

as grandparents we moved in with our daughter to share the costs and help her with the grandkids, putting us in a position where occasionally we can help others, if you are in Australia I know there is plenty of help if you ask, don't be ashamed of struggling everybody is, the meaning of life for me is the little things, when I retired some 5 years ago I made it a mission to be the reason someone smiled Everday, I have succeeded so far but for me its a great way to cope with the world we live in

I plan to retire in hopefully 10 years. But I will need much more money to retire than I currently have. Everything is getting more expensive, and I don't know if I will have insurance for my medical needs by then. I don't know if medicade and Medicare will be available to me in 10 years or social security. I am scared I will not be able to for retirement in 10 years the way the economy is trending right now unless they Republicans and democrats fix things together...

I live in Australia and I don't understand why an ordinary citizen like myself who has worked his whole life and never received any sort of government benefit has to apply for a pension and yet a politician gets one automatically when he/she retires without having to do any sort of means test. Is this fair or unfair?

Why does every Tom, Dick and Harriet (and their children) have to own a car? Isn't the world full of too many cars? As an older person that no longer owns a vehicle, it seems ridiculous why 17-year-old Junior must have a car and Mum/Dad will get it for them. Many households in NZ have multiple cars, this is excessive within the cities when buses run and people can carpool. "Must own a car" for my independence mentality is wrecking the planet What is your...

I am wondering, as I live way out in the country, and I was seeing drones flying at night. What concerned me is I also saw the medivac in the same area as these drones. I let the Sheriff know seems for now the drones are not flying. My Blink door cameras were picking up all the activity, and it was going on night after night after night. Do others see drones this often in the country?
Alison B 579466
No I don't see them. I would have thought that unless you have a special permit you wouldn't be allowed to operate them at night. It sounds like there might have been an illegal activity going on.

Education is something that can never be taken away from you. Once upon a time, someone said to me, Your education is something that no one can ever take from you." That has stayed with me all these years and I realize why this is one of the most famous educational quotes. It's not only true, but also yours to own. What would you say? What is something that can never be taken away?

Most people live on high credit that will take forever to pay off due to living on higher means than what we can afford. Bad enough having one credit card, but many have a few, which make you go into a spiral life of credit & you never can get out of. I believe one card is bad enough, you shouldn t be able to obtain any more to stop you from getting out of control. Do you feel banks should stop this to stop people s lives from getting out of control?
Victoria 1304258
I honestly don't know. I am trying hard to pay off our cards, but our debt did not come from living too well, but simply having to pay bills. My husband had to have operations & could not work or get unemployment because he had his own business, so we accrued debt from medical & other bills. I worked, but it wasn't enough. I can't wait until it's all paid off!! I look forward to that freedom!

The price of cigarettes in New Zealand has now hit $50 a packet., of which 80% is tax. Successive governments have pushed the tax up to try to reduce the incidence of smoking in the NZ population. It has spawned a black market, some of which is illegal importation, others have come onto the market as a result of corner shop burglaries. What is the experience of other countries? Are your smoking stats reducing? Why?
Andrew C 287196
The number of cigarette smokers is dropping, but the number of smokers is actually rising thanks to the silliness of allowing sales of electronic cigarettes / vaping (which are not any safer nor healthier than regular cigarettes). 🙄

Being the polar opposite of my siblings in every way shape and form and never having the dad/daughter connection, I always wondered if me daddy were indeed me daddy. It ate away at me for years. I asked my mother many times. I got to a point in my life where I needed to know I did Ancestry D.N.A .BOOM! my gut instincts were spot on Finally got my truth At 70, I found another brother I don t regret any of it, but boy, what an emotional roller coaster.
Lorne M
I understand your need to know but it's important to realize you are likely not the only person whose life may be upset needlessly with any disclosure. There may be many reasons you weren't told, including your mother having been the victim of rape, incest or long-denied or hidden indiscretions.
How badly you may need to resolve this has to be weighed against the hurt the truth may cause, wounds re-opened and marriages undermined.

Do you agree with this? In my opinion, if AI can't do even simple things (distinguish between genuine emails and spam/scam emails and Microsoft is the WORST OFFENDER for not being able to do this even when you tell it this one is ok and this one is not) and giving wrong answers when searching for things (not just search engines but within sites when you are looking for specific products, and you even give it the brand, product name product code etc). ...

You may feel lonely because many of your friends are at work. You may be bored. The activities you try may not challenge or engage you. Many retirees feel they have lost their sense of purpose. What are your thoughts? Why is it so hard to retire?
Jennifer 1540583
Many reasons mainly the cost of living. I agree with a panel member that the Govt don't want you to retire so change the goal posts as frequently as they can get away with. The Govt needs our taxes more and more as people either choose not to have children or can't literally afford to with housing and cost of living. A totally sad state of affairs as it changes peoples' lives so the rich can get richer and tell the middle class which will become almost extinct that they are lazy or didn't work hard enough. Totally unjust and immoral. We absolutely have to choose the best Govt in May this year to serve the ordinary working people of this country. Let's unite together there is absolute power in numbers!!!

I don't care for sports other than the Olympics. I don't follow sports of any kind and do not watch them. I certainly would not pay an outrageous price for tickets to see them live. In our family, every year we would give the same presents. My Dad would wrap up a potato in lots of newspaper and put it under the tree, one for me and one for my brother. He then did this for my daughters as well. We always had one fun gift, One daughter always got a coffee mug, she has quite a collection now. The other always got funny underpants. I am an only girl in a family with four brothers. My mother lived to be 88 years old and had dementia. I moved her in with me and cared for her for the last three years of her life. Only one of my brothers came to see her, the others didn't even call to check on her. Mom was a good mother and took good care of us growing up. We had an alcoholic father who cared more about his liquor than about us, but Mom made up for it by giving more of herself. I know of other families...

Gender is not the issue, more like family dynamics is the issue combined with the stereotyping of males. Furthermore, your sample size is too small to draw valid conclusions on gender. In addition, under the scenario you described you can draw invalid generalizations about males. Which has led to the 'myth' of girls (women) are more responsible than boys (men)...hm - even in these politically correct times - males are winning custody of their child or children from their ex-wives - for the first time - in the history of democracies!

Has anyone noticed that the weather outside is colder than usual for this time of year, especially here in California where I live? It feels like I m living in Wisconsin, where it s not sunny most of the time. Even when the sun comes out, it s not hot. Winters in Wisconsin often reach 50 below zero, and the weather can change dramatically it might rain, then shine, and then snow, which is quite strange. Also, I really dislike group homes and their regulations....
Manel 1271300
Hello Lisa thank you for the Californian weather perspective. In Melbourne the weather is similar, it's colder and hotter during this time of the year, than the past few years. Climate change and its effects are quite obvious. Regarding your plight of living with house mates is a bit daunting, but what can you do? When you cannot afford a home by yourself, some sacrifices have to be made. I pass a positive compliment to you. If you are the one who is appearing in the photo, you look quite young and smart, why not try a career advancement to buy your own place? Just a suggestion! This is what I did when I was young: work harder to climb the ladder to achieve career development. It was hard but, it solved a lot of life problems. Good Luck! 😀

While growing up during the Cold War, I was repeatedly taught that a big difference between us and the USSR was that the USSR banned books while we, in the free world, wouldn't do such a thing. Today, we are seeing many books banned in parts of America. Personally, I never thought that I'd see the day when books would be banned in America!

I think it is amazing how many parents are not prepared to be parents and want other people to work for them. More and more areas. You can't tell the difference....it is saving the planet...it stops animal cruelty.....and this runs against... you can taste the difference...it is made of vegetables, so why does it cost twice the price of meat...if you are going to stop animal cruelty there are better ways...........surely being a vegetarian means eating no meat, so why do you need a meat substitute? Are you missing your dead animals? What do we think?
Carol S 657195
I see no point in humans becoming vegetarians. What do we do with the animals that we have on the planet? Cows have to be milked, and there's nothing better than beef in my opinion. People are not herbivores. Why do we think we are so civiilized that we are too good to eat meat? God put them here for us to use, but not to abuse! There are humane ways to slaughter animals. I think it's more important to focus on people slaughtering other people! What the hell is going on there? We need to figure that out ASAP! Get rid of the drugs, cults and mental illness and automatic weapons. The founders of this country did not mean for us to be armed like the armed forces. The US is the worst country for murder, why? Are we too spoiled that we are bored and are looking for love instead of drugs or material things? I think it's a combination of drugs and working and divorced parents. Homes are broken!

As the Government continues to try to force us to buy expensive Electric Vehicles, I am at a standstill. Why? 1. We don't have enough dams to service the electrical Grid. 2. I think the world is being led by the nose by "greenies" who have been taught at school how wonderful and pollution friendly EV's are without sufficient knowledge to think things through for themselves and make rational judgements. Joe Biden has pledged to raise America's national minimum wage to $15 an hour. Economists traditionally believed that minimum wages actually hurt workers, but recent research has led to a rethink. What do you think - does it hurt workers?
Meghan H 909873
In New Zealand the minimum wage is $21.20. What has happened is that all essential businesses where staff earn minimum wage (eg petrol stations, supermarkets) have put their prices up. This means that the minimum wage earners are not any better off and those of us earning a little more, but not a lot more than minimum wage are significantly worse off as the prices go up. And, our tax brackets have not moved in years, so if you earn more, you pay more income tax.

If you and your partner are travelling on a long-distance flight (10+ hours) and one of you is offered an upgrade to business class, would you take it? Who would take it, or would you both stay in economy together? This happened to us last year, and we chose to stay together.

I was flying from AL to Sydney when I was in an incident. The guy next to me started jiggling. At first I though he was listening to music, then realised he was sick. I called the stewardess and told her. The next thing was the classic announcement "is there a doctor on the plane". They found one, and he and the stewardess started trying to help the guy. The stewardess turned to me and said "the doctor needs more space, and the only spare seat is in first class, would you mind moving?" So in the spirit of helping out I made the sacrifice and moved to first class for the rest of the trip.

OK... My neighbour is weird....yesterday...... I walked past the house with my dog at around 11.30 in the morning...the car is in the drive...the engine is running and the male occupant is slumped over the steering wheel...like he is dead or asleep or something... I look in the car he is not moving... I take on board everyone's advice from the last discussion page and just walk on by...not my problem, right?...and the next day the car is gone again...what is going on? Is it...
Dana 1705135
It's good to be aware of your surroundings it's not a problem it's a necessity, if the person is slumped over they may be exhibiting exhaustion or a medical problem or so many other things. If you feel safe I would think a quick conversation with the neighbors would help give you a piece of mind.

Anyone else have lovely neighbours who think they can come and slice branches off your favourite tree? I have a beautiful well cared for Frangipani which I just noticed is missing at least 4 new branches for its summer show of flowers!! I know they all want to grow their own cuttings but really? It's also the wrong time of year to take them Now I am without shade and extra privacy in the front.
Angie
Those thieving dumbarses! 😡 This pisses me off that people think they can just destroy something that someone else loves. Hence why I hate humans! Except you of course lovely Liane.
I too love Frangipani, my daughter’s favourite flower, and I’m so sorry your neighbours are so inconsiderate and ignorant!

Just made my list out for food at the Christmas lunch table and beyond. Got much appreciated help this year, with our visitors, who will be staying with us over Christmas ... this year will be Extraordinarily simple catering for 6: All good. Doing Roast Beef, and salads galore, with hot sides of Roasted potatoes & garlic; tomatoes & zucchini; Pumpkin, Carrots and Brussels Sprouts. Dessert will be dictated by the all-important weather - ice cream, custard,...

How did the initial energy come into existence? The expansion began only after the universe already existed in a highly condensed state. So, what was the origin of that first energy before the expansion started?
NotFriedLikeMost
You can NEVER have "something" come from "nothing".
It is why it is called the big bang THEORY for a reason...not proven or truhful AT ALL.
Why do the elites push this lie? Simple...if we can be made to THINK we are so insignificant and RANDOMLY came from NOTHING...then it is easier FOR THEM to justify how they MUST HAVE "been chosen" to rule over us. When, in reality, NOBODY is insignificant and NOBODY should be ruling over ANYONE else.
Yet, here we are...lied to about this, lied to about our earth, lied to about EVERYTHING during 'satans little season', or, the age of deception from 1776 thru to 2026. The jig is up, folks!! The Millenium Reign already happened when Christ returned in 70 AD.
"Christ" returning for a THIRD TIME is ALLEGORY for TRUTH COMING BACK TO SOCIETY!!!!!! This is why these globalists are rushing to get us under their digital enslavement asap...because, as TRUTH comes back, their LIES GET EXPOSED. I have been at this since 1999...and yet most have been so asleep and unaware, but, thankfully, the truth is so strong and real that folk will NOT be able to deny it anymore. EVERYTHING WE KNOW HAS BEEN A LIE TO FIT THE GLOBAL ELITES NARRATIVE...so THEY can work to enslave US ALL.
Thse elites beLIEve to be "chosen ones"...but, remember, as per Revelation, these people SAY they are a certain group, BUT ARE NOT!!
It's BEEN proven they have deceived humanity for thousands of years, especially in this last 250 year period, aka satans little season. These deceivers are the evil behind EVERYTHING in our society today. Just remember...the BLACK CUBE of SATURN is what they worship. "Kabbalah" is what they practice. It's no COINCIDENCE they also created Islam...which has fools worshipping satan as well...as they worship at the KAABA of ALLAH. It's LITERALLY in the words, yet most CANNOT SEE. ANYTHING in this 3D realm that is "religious" IS against God. ALL OF IT...TO DECEIVE YOU!!!!!! You awake and aware yet? Get rid of them 'smart'phones and as MUCH tech as possible...a REGRESSION technologically is the answer...and STOP getting jabbed! They are LITERALLY changing your DNA and ANY AND ALL injectables post-Covid fraud ARE ALL THE SAME TECH DOING THIS. Homo borgensis is your new term if you get these transhumanist shots.
Stop complying to these LIARS and FRAUDS.

Hey, so life's a bitch, and then you die! Is this your reality? Have you spent your life doing what s right? Giving to those less fortunate? Putting others needs before your own? Living a life of kindness and caring for others? And now you re healthy, happy, wealthy and wise? Living your best life? No problems? No stress? And most importantly, you ve spent your life staying positive, giving generously, sometimes giving everything you ve got? Putting everyone else...
Cher
Well Angie, I will give this a shot. Hopefully, this helps someone. There are waves of ups and downs in life. Some people have more of them and others less. That is the unfairness of life. We all do not arrive on this earth plane on the same playing field. However a good attitude towards one another and our self is critical if we want to evolve as better human beings. Hopefully there is enough time to learn this. Find your loving purpose and intention and spread it to others as much as you can. How do you want to be remembered by others? Best wishes!

writerrochelle
You should be asking, "What makes me so angry? Why do I feel this way?"
Are you envious of your sister's wealth and success? Why can't you be proud of her success? If this is something you want too, work toward it like I'm sure she did. I doubt if it was handed to her. I'm sorry you felt you had to ask this question. There are much more important things in life than wealth and success, Andrzej, trust me! ;-D

Swearing may occur occasionally in informal or high-pressure environments, but it is generally unprofessional. Swearing at workplace - do you find it acceptable?
boy blunder
swearing is part of our culture today, its all over the little box we watch so often, our kids are often exposed to bad language wherever you go, do I find it offensive, no, do I swear, rarely ,depends if you talk to a swearer you tend to swear because they do, but tv allows all kind of profanities, I think it starts there, the gov have relaxed all kinds of morals that was once controlled , and as a result morals and standards have dropped, its amazing that kids first words are not profanities

They say time heals everything. But it's been 8 years and the pain from betrayal still lingers. Family, friends, spouse. How does one cope with this? Any advice is appreciated ...
Vesta
It's all dependent on the person and science has shown that everytime you revisit a negative memory you actually reinforce its presence in your brain and make it stronger.
Humans are wired to look for negative patterns as it used to potentially save our life.
So there comes a point where you have to CHOOSE to move forward and force new better habits, memories and pathways in the brain. Yes this takes time but consider the alternative. You get older and the realization that you will die one day starts to hit. You look back at your life and what did you do with it...sulk, sit depressed over the past. That truly is a life wasted.
It always takes two to tango so when you say that you have been betrayed by your friends, family AND spouse then I'm sorry but you definitely contributed in some way. False memory is often instant especially for those who suffer trauma so no doubt the past you're remembering is not entirely accurate and more forcefully negative from your own presumptions. No person is ever so innocent that the world completely dominates them through no fault of their own.
Like attracts like so start by focusing on your OWN actions and be the change you want to see in the world. If someone has betrayed you it's because you let them. Learn to be your own champion and put yourself first but be kind to others along the way without compromising your truest values.
There are few true victims in society but by choosing to be one especially after so many years and not moving on you are not only actively creating a life of misery for yourself but you feed it to those around you making their lives harder and repeating the cycle.
Most of you will deem this harsh but if kind words were going to help then they would have worked by now...8 years already! You have so much more life to live... don't feel guilty at what's already passed just savour what's left. Move forward and refuse to let any actual betrayals continue to ruin your life or they win. It's your choice so make it.

Recently, a child was discussing different ideas for a family pet with his mother. The child rattled off, "bird, fish, cat and dog". All ideas were met with a resounding no. Finally, the child could be heard saying 'axolotl'. The mother's response was priceless. "That's not even a word!" In life, we may have heard or seen something that has made us pause, smile or relate to. What is your moment of "you can't be serious!" *Please be kind to each other with...
P F
Actually an Axolotl is an amphibian that looks like half a lizard and half a fish. 10 out of 10 points for him asking for that!. Kids are amazing, they soak up facts and information like a sponge. They must have seen it somewhere on TV or in a book. The response of "That not even a word" is 0 out of 10. Don't put the ideas of children down. They missed a wonderful opportunity for an interesting conversation. NEVER put children's ideas down. We are adults/so what? Nurture a child's growth and never stunt their imagination or ideas.

This invites reflection on friendships, family, or relationships, and allows people to share personal experiences or thoughts about loss, change, or distance in life.
Michelle S 553303
There’s a miriad of answers for this question. I think, personally, that we often don’t appreciate what we have until it’s gone and relationships break down when you don’t take the time to nurture them. People don’t like feeling that they are being taken for granted and we can do this without realising the effect it has on those we genuinely care about until the time comes when they feel so undervalued that the relationship falls apart. I would love to be able to go back in time and spend more time with the people that I loved who are now gone out of my life but I can’t. I just try not to make the same mistake again and every time I talk to my adult children I tell them that I love them as this might be the last time I get to say it. I still care deeply for people whom I have had no contact with in years yet it is too late to repair the damage. Be kind every day! Thanks for reading.

The Government is talking about a cat curfew again. A lot of people are saying it won't work. Why not? Cats are responsible for killing a lot of wildlife. I have quite a few friends who have cats, and we had one when we were living on 5 acres. None of them go outside unless on a leash. Our cat had an area which it could run around and would have a lot of fun. But not kill any wildlife. I have seen some great cats runs and if I had a cat would build...
Bugalugs
Just how are they going to police this? Are Councils going to employ people to stay up all night - which is when cats are out and about, entereing people's properties without warning? If they do are they prepared, and take Full Responsibility if some of them get killed by Property Owners? It should be remembered that in some countries they have almost non-existent Gun Laws (the USA springs to mind), where mass killings are now the norm, people are allowed to have virtually any type of Military Weapons they fancy which they claim they need to protect their homes and families - its all nonsense but then that is what we expect from Trumpland! The death of these unannounced invaders of people's property will be inevitable, people will shoot first and ask questions later. In Australia where we are not supposed to have any firearms , but many do, if someone started poking around my property in the middle of the night I would turn a high-powered hose on them. The whole idea is based on sheer stupidity, is unworkable.

Fall is near in Canada, and the signs are already beginning to show. The air is getting cooler, the days are shorter, and the leaves are slowly starting to change into beautiful shades of red, orange, and yellow. It s a magical season filled with cozy sweaters, warm drinks, and scenic walks through colorful forests. As autumn arrives, Canadians get ready to enjoy harvest festivals, pumpkin patches, and the peaceful beauty of nature preparing for winter.

In recent weeks I have heard of a lot of people I know, either directly or indirectly, having lost a lot of weight with the help of these drugs. I am finding it hard to believe just how common they are. They do seem to work. I have refused them. I am only slightly overweight and sugars aren't too bad overall. Do you know anyone who has had success with them?
Shawn B 1061185
I used Ozempic until it threatened my life. I lost almost 100 pounds in a few short months. I suffered through almost all of the listed side effects.
I started randomly passing out and I finally just quit using it. It's been a couple of months now since I stopped using it. My weight is coming back (I don't need to weigh 125 lbs. I should be about 140 or 145.) My breathing is stabalizing and I'm starting to eat regularly.
The drug certainly helped me lose weight. If you're going to use it be very very vigilant about any feelings of ill health.

"Overspending" or a "spending crisis" might be a contributing factor for some, the broader issue is a widespread increase in the cost of essential goods and services, making it difficult for individuals and families to afford basic necessities. What would you say? Are we having a cost-of-living crisis or spending crisis?

SORRY, I sometimes wonder why so many seem to have problems. Do they have extra commitments or credit, debts or what that are not mentioned? MAYBE it is a combination of living on credit, no money to live beyond means. makes price rise hard to adjust to.
I am on a fixed income around double what pension is, I own my own home, no debts whatsoever. No credit cards for decades. YES I notice prices have gone up. Attitudes will never change so long as entertainment writers keep doing the same old things. Why is it that if a man kisses a woman who is in a relationship it is considered that the woman cheated and the man has every right to dump her and be angry at her while when a man ACTUALLY cheats on a woman, it is not a big deal and is expected because, after all, this is what men do. It is also annoying that when a woman is portrayed as having a career, she is...

Social media has been accused of being a cause of what's wrong today, with all the self-centered, narcissistic videos, dating apps making relationships trivial and shallow, and one too many people yelling, crying, complaining, and giving "expert" advice from their cars. But is it the tech or the times? If all of today's social media were available in that decade that's often idealized, the 1950's, do you think there would be the same results? Would people have used them...

Common sense requires social interaction. Common sense is usually connected to universal truths. If you don't have regular social interaction, you might not learn what constitutes common sense and how to use it. This is why very smart people who spend a lot of time by themselves might seem to lack common sense. What would you say? Why has common sense disappeared?
NotFriedLikeMost
Common sense is not that common anymore because it pairs well with CRITICAL THINKING.
Nowadays, most are completely brainwashed by all things mainstream and they don't even realize this. They have SLOWLY had their ability TO critically think eroded to the point that most ONLY REACT, instead of stepping out of their indoctrination to actually think critically. Technology has played a massive part in this because everyone is a so-called expert when they can "google it" on their personal GPS tracking device, that has internet, that is invisibly chained to their wrist all day.
But, and this is the kicker, those who CEASE to critically think will rely on those "google" results as 100% TRUTH....and we know, or we SHOULD know, that most of the actual truths have been suppressed on purpose, search results purposely skewed to fit a certain narrative and so on. So now we have a plague of people so far brainwashed...without knowing it, but, also, these same people are SO SURE of themselves as well.
And, to counter the statement in the question posed by Natalia...if you think "Very smart people who spend a lot of time by themselves might seem to lack common sense"...then your perception of WHOM is "very smart" is way off because those who SEEM "very smart" to the general populace, are just the ones who are best at memorizing their brainwashing and regurgitating it on command.
As for myself, I am highly intellectual and DO NOT CARE to be around most people in society BECAUSE I use common sense and possess keen critical thinking ability and discernment. This comes with years of experience, observation and the one thing most lack....PATIENCE.

For me, it's the other way around. Asking your partner to share their location is the red flag. It shows either mistrust, or jealousy. It's borderline stalking to have to know where your significant other is at all times.

Some of us are barely earning any points for the day or night. It's unfair. Also while we are talking about stingy points, one point for losing on Bingo games is not good enough and some points for winning are very stingy. Please sort this out so we have more members playing

Now just focusing on my health mental and physical as well as slowly saving to replace all I left behind. Pretty proud of myself at this point as I thought previously the only way I would get out was in a wooden box. I look forward to a better year than many more previous ones.i know for sure it can't possibly be worse. For the first time in quite I while I love my life. Hope everyone else out there has a reason to smile this coming New Year and sees us all better off than the last.

Parental/carer mental ill health can, in some circumstances, lead to an inability to look after the child's physical and emotional wellbeing. This is often for a short temporary period, however for some individuals it can be more prolonged. What is your experience? How does a parent's poor mental health affect a child?
Bugalugs
Of course it does. it can lead to neglect, wsexual, physical and mental abuse. Of course things like alcohol and drugs don't help do they? We have an increasing problem in which children, some as young as 9 years old, are roaming the streets late at night committing crimes, being arrested and then the bleeding hearts come out and accuse the Police and all but those responsible for the problem!
The Police and othes are so scared of being accused of racism that they dare not ask the Most Important Question of All.
Where are the Parents whilst their children are running amok?
I'll tell you where they are. They are at home blind drunk or drugged, both are mental health issues.

The subject of shells was raised on this site, with some people feeling all shells should be left at the beach. I returned from overseas once and had to go through immigration and customs in Darwin, where the customs officers walked along the line of passengers with a large plastic bin asking for shells and coral. Shells considered too small were kept along with all coral, but the coral jewellery was sold in jewellery shops in the country I had visited, and the shells...

the shells could be naturally contaminated, or even still have a live invasive species in it is probably the reason

As I have got older, I have sometimes felt that I haven't been "successful" at anything throughout my life. I am not a lawyer, or a doctor, I don't have a University Degree, I am not rich, I have no specific "talents," have won no awards for anything, don't own property or flash cars. I am just an ordinary human being, who tries to live a "good" life (whatever that is!) as I move along this journey between birth and death. How do you define "success?" Do you measure...

I guess we all think that way at some stage in life. We have not moved mountains so we think we have not achieved success however success is not based on what we have not done. Success is being happy. Success is confidence. Success is raising healthy kids. Success is much more than being top of the class. Success is getting through life in one piece and so much more.

Debt can be a double-edged sword for many young adults starting their careers. With lower wages, fewer savings, and limited access to safety net supports, young people often struggle to achieve financial stability. What do you think are the main reasons why young people are struggling with debt?
Lynette W 328802
Because their money is paid into an account it is only a number. They never actually see the cash as in the old days when your pay was in an envelope and you could see it!!

Life is very different now than it was in the past, when leaving your children an inheritance was common practice. I still see many adult children who seem to consider an inheritance an "entitlement" whether or not their parents can realistically afford to leave them one. People are living much longer these days, and many find themselves needing to move into residential care of some kind, in their latter years. Some choose a retirement village setting, others need a higher level of...

Neither of our children communicate with us, so they won’t be inheriting what they think they are “entitled” to inherit.

With the way things are so different today, would you push your children to go to University or College versus guiding them on becoming their own boss? If they choose to go to post secondary, they accumulate a large debt and are not guaranteed employment. As well, artificial intelligence is taking over so many areas that the chances of securing a good position in your related field of study are lessened. However, if you follow the trends today and utilize social media...
BLACK LIVES MATTER
I think college, trades, and university will become a thing of the past - when AI reaches its full potential. I think going into the military for twenty years and getting a livable pension will become the norm - as their will be more wars over dwindling natural resources and ever-increasing population. Also, becoming a police officer will become your second mandatory option for twenty years which will give you another livable pension - crowd control will become an issue as the fight for dwindling natural resources will become more intensified with an ever-increasing population. The not-so-distant future will be a dark and ugly place for the overwhelming majority of people - not because of AI - but because humans are incapable of learning from our past mistakes and our luck as a specie will finally RUN OUT!

I just finished Lucinda Riley's series of books called "The Seven Sisters" and enjoyed it very much. I am looking for a new series of books to read. Furthermore, I am not interested in science fiction or books with too much violence. Do you have any suggestions?
Carolyn K 714554
I recommend The Clan of the Cave Bear. It is about early man and the struggle to survive. Written by Jean Auel. There is about 5 books in the series. Not to be missed.

When my kids came home one day from School, they were both REALLY worried...the teacher had told them the icecaps were melting, and sea levels were already rising..." Are we going to be OK, Dad?"... I said that the people on the seafront would have to move...but we lived at the top of a massive hill...so we would be able to go fishing in the back garden, and I'd buy a boat to go shopping...the look of relief on their little faces...and them falling about...

The school system and newly trained teachers have a lot to answer for. Teach your own kids the truth and have discussions.

My question is: Should seniors choose large dogs vs 20lb and under? I was walking my dog and I often see seniors walking their dog. What I am surprised to see are seniors walking huge dogs - like German shepherds. Great Danes, boxers, golden retrievers- and others. I often see elderly unable to manage their large dog - due to strength - mobility, etc. should seniors stick with small dogs that are more manageable?

Meet my newly adopted dog, Panda! I'm going to pick him up after I log out. We think he's dachshund and terrier mix. He is a tiny little guy, but way overweight, so I'll be working on getting it down. Panda is 7, and will be a great companion for both Sadie, my toy poodle who is 12 1/2, and myself! ;-D

Are there any games you'd like to see added to Rewardia? If so, which ones? Are there any games that frustrates you or you'd be all too glad to see removed? Tell us, below! Thank you!

oh rewardia, why does the scramble puzzle not recognise words that are in the dictionary but give us stupid slang words that do not make sense half the time.

People always talk about the BEST advice they've gotten - I want to hear the BAD ones so we can all laugh together!

Things happen, and you may never receive a valid explanation why. However, the sooner you quit dwelling on it, the sooner you can bounce back. What about you? What is the hardest truth you had to accept that made you stronger?

I had to except the fact that I had a Stroke. At age 39 I Stroked as my daughters and I were getting ready for the day. My daughers were only 12yrs and 7yrs old at the time. It did not happen right away, I was very angry, I spent 2 months in the Rehab Hospital. Every1 I knew except for 1 person avoided me like the plaque. After many years I finally gave in and excepted that I had Stroked, Im now a totally different person, but it took quite a few years for me to be where I am now. They do not know why I stroked, but I truly beleive that it saved my life. Without getting to much in to it, I was drinking all the time, getting into fights etc. I am now though a much happier person. I am now 62yrs old, and I do not think I would of made it this long if I was the same person I was right after I got out of rehab.

My husband decided to tell me on my way back from a work trip that I was not welcome back into our home. I don't have any family, as I had just lost my mum over a year ago. We share a daughter, and he has restricted my visits with her. This breaks my heart as they were the only people I have in this world. He comes from a family with money, and he has said that they will fight me until I'm broke and leave me with nothing if I dare challenge him with custody of our...

A lot of people these days are suffering from bad mental health, and people don't even realise. People with bad mental health will usually isolate themselves from others, and just want to be alone, even though what they need is to talk to someone. We should check that everyone is ok, because trust me, having bad mental health is like living a nightmare. What is your opinion on this topic?
JANET R 328390
Well I am probably going to stir some feathers here ... but I honestly think a lot of the problem is our current lifestyle. So many people are controlled by either their mobile phone or social media. People used to get out more. People used to have gardens that they could enjoy and these days a lot of people are living in either apartments or pokey little places or houses all up against one another...I have even read articles from Experts that this type of living can cause depression and mental health issues. Don't worry I am expecting some negative response ....... it is just what I believe. I fully understand that the days of big gardens are out - but I feel they have gone to the other extreme.

Vandalism is an act of violence, does the political situation warrant a violent response? Or is it just silly humans being silly humans and love the act of violence? What is your opinion on the use of vandalism as a form of a protest?

Make them clean up the mess and pay for all costs no slaps on the wrists and bail or 'public service duties' - then jail them for a year. They need to learn respect.

You know...the one where they ask you what is the most important issue for Australia....but there is no box for "climate change"?...or they ask you want you drink, buy or eat...but only give you a limited choice...and you have to pick one anyway?...these are the ones that never have a box at the end to explain what is wrong...because they already know...what do you think?

I tend to give them what they want. I've successfully completed surveys in languages that I don't even speak.

My husband and I have disagreed, he thinks the lint is actually growing all the time, I am not sure how it could be growing Does anyone else have to fight lint every day all day long in the home where they live. Just using a vacuum every day is not enough. What does others suggest about this??
Shawn B 1061185
While I don't have a lint problem at home, I used to work at a university that did have a real problem. The lint bunnies grew so large that they hissed at the students passing by. I also heard that a student was actually attacked by one, but there is no proof.

Are you an immigrant? Have you ever immigrated? Well, let me tell you it's not easy! Maybe immigrate can look very romantic, but it's not. As a young immigrant who is loving to stay in New Zealand. I just realise that it's really difficult to get the things done, even more if you are completely alone, English is not your first language, and you are young. There is a lot of bureaucracy that you have to do here, and you even haven't done it in your own country. It's been...

Australia seems to be importing the people nobody wants, even their own country. They come here for a better life but want to change Australia to the shit-hole they came from.
