I got my black belt in TKD, with Palado TaeKwonDo Academy in a small town, it took me 15yrs (as I had two kids during that time so a few breaks), but I kept returning (with my kids who are also Blue belts atm. I paid for it myself. I dealt with the petrol, the time, whilst working, and eventually (as the boys got older); the whinging!! IT WAS ALL WORTH IT AND STILL IS! I went to Bright,Victoria. A small village town half way up Lake Mountain. The most picturesque little town all year round back then.My ex husband and I were travelling by car ,6 hour drive. I was very pregnant with our first child. 40 degree heat in summer. We had a minor accident with the car in the first 15mins,no apparent damage,so continued. We should have turned back then. The car broke down more times than I can count. Luckily we had insurance that offered roadside assistance. By the time we arrived we had spent 12hours on the road in the heat and had the car towed the last 80kms. All accommodation was already paid for,but left us with very little money and bad sunburn. Still wasn't horrible,it's was truly beautiful. We ate ice-cream,walked around town, waded though the Oven's river( which is melted snow and freezing any time of year). We had some food we brought with us. Funny that everything we planned went wrong,but just being there was refreshing. Young love..we didn't care,had nothing,no money,no car. It didn't matter.

Overpack or careless .lt's a business You should be giving us free bags to take our product home in after you've made a nice profit from us ( massive profits compared to other stores who give you a free bag!!); .. and you'll also get free advertising as we walk down the street with your logo on the bags eh? Then any surviving bags just collect in my cupboard expecting to be bought to the shop again one day ..mm never going to happen. No, I restarted life at age 35 and now I am 75 years young and have been forced in 2008 at age 59 into an early retirement. I do online surveys to augment my stipends of SS and pension each month (Less than $1700 of which rent is $700).

I suppose I got a bit of a head start on everybody else. Earlier this month I moved interstate back to sunny Victoria( well sometimes it is). I left a d.v relationship with basically my clothes and my youngest son and his things to be with family. So decluttering DONE. Now just focusing on my health mental and physical as well as slowly saving to replace all I left behind. Pretty proud of myself at this point as I thought previously the only way I would get out was in a wooden box. I look forward to a better year than many more previous ones.i know for sure it can't possibly be worse. For the first time in quite I while I love my life. Hope everyone else out there has a reason to smile this coming New Year and sees us all better off than the last.

I think going into the military for twenty years and getting a livable pension will become the norm - as their will be more wars over dwindling natural resources and ever-increasing population. Also, becoming a police officer will become your second mandatory option for twenty years which will give you another livable pension - crowd control will become an issue as the fight for dwindling natural resources will become more intensified with an ever-increasing population. First thing , to become rich is to put some of one's own income away ( save it) also known as the long way. Second thing , borrowing someone else's money is a quick way of becoming in debt, once you are in debt , in is near impossible to become rich. Borrowing more money, and investing it, is no guarantee of getting out of the original debt , and becoming rich. It may end up worse off and owing more debt. In reality, you can retire at any age if you have the financial means to do so. What you are talking about is retirement age to either access superannuation or a government pension. I hate how the age has increased due to what the government perceives as "aging population". The old system of "voluntary retirement at 55" is much better than "work until you die" mentality which prevails today. (Obviously, voluntary retirement at 55 was to access superannuation and NOT welfare and you can no longer do this as the minimum retirement age is 10-20 years higher for most people currently working and this is awful).

I think that people who have worked all their life should be able to have some retirement life before they become too frail. Retirement age should be 65 yrs and if people want to work longer they can and have tax benefits. Everyone has a different lifestyle and health. Some people already end up unable to work at 65 due to ill health, just look at the aging population that end up in Nursing Homes who are in their early 70s. Let there be a small time in life to enjoy some retirement

I agree with you completely, TV was better in my childhood. There was no bad language, no sex and no bloody murders. We lived in a blissful world where we were allowed to have a childhood. Right was right and wrong was wrong and there was no grey area, Superman would always save the day. Around the 70's the so called educators graduated from uni and decided for us that children should not grow up thinking everything will work out for the best and that they should not be taught about God but sex instead. Noddy and Big ears were perverts and we can't have a golly wog. Children should know that you die, can be murdered and all sorts of horrible things can happen to you so stranger danger dialled up full speed. No more fairy tales or dreaming of meeting a prince. I couldn't believe a mother told her son that Prince Charming was molesting Snow White. How sad is that. Children are now confronted with the horrible facts of life, and it's cruel in my opinion. I have a niece that has mental issues which are quite severe to the stage where she has attempted to take her life multiple times but luckily failed however she has also very much mutilated herself at the same time.She is now 21 and still has major relapses of self mutilation.Many of our family have tried to reach out to her over the years including myself and she has even been in respite care institutions.It is really sad because she is a lovely young lady with so much potential to make something of herself but over here in NZ the mental health system has failed her as well as many others and that is only half the problem.Many so called professionals said there is nothing wrong with her and it is all to do with attention seeking but this was recently proven wrong as she has now been diagnosed with border line personality disorder which is one of the most commonly misdiagonsed mental health conditions out there.

My other special dislikes are those endlessly repeated preliminary questions which are a waste of time such as: 1) If you had a Superpower what would you want to be able to do? 2) What are your views on technology? 3) What is your favourite meal? Just what is the point of them? I will have to relocate to the MOON - to get away from windy days (LOL)! I guess dealing with cold weather (at my age - now) would be living on the edge - because my survival flexes are too slow to survive in a cold weather (locale) environment (my survival reflexes got spoiled my residing in Southern Sunny California for such a long time) - I would literately and figuratively freeze to death in a cold-weather site (these days) - within hours - LOL!

The thing that worries me about these drones is this. What happens when things go catastrophically, or even only slightly, wrong? One of the things crashes into a house wuth the result it burns down and kills the occupants? What happens if one of them smashes into the engine or windscreen of a vehicle on a fast Flowing Freeway, Autobahn with the result that literally hundreds of cars collide, killing or Maiming for Life most of the occupants? Are the Owners of them Fully Insured? Are the Operators Fully Insured? Its a bit like Cyclists, at least in Australia isn't it? They are Not required to carry any insurances which means that if they are in an accident which can be shown to have been their fault they get off scot-free and if a Motorist is involved the Cyclist can claim against the Motorist's Insurances? Waht happens if one of these relatively small gadgets in mid-flight snashes into a fully laden jet with 5 or 6 hundred passengers and all die? Who, other than the operator is controlling these machines? Yes, they can be useful but there seems to be no regulations in place regarding their operation or, possibly more importantly, the Training the Operators have undergone.

I use energy efficiency appliances. I use portable water-based AC unit which operates on 4C batteries (I buy rechargeable batteries). I use a mini fridge with freezer. I use a portable electric induction cooktop. The ways to lower your electricity bill are endlessly. However, you have to figure out how to use technology to suit your needs and helps you too cut down on your electricity bill without inconveniencing yourself (life is too short at my age)!

At the age of 3, I was playing with the neighbour's kids and dog. And for some reason, the dog bit me. My dad had to rush me to the hospital, because my eye was hanging out. Then at 7, my sister and I missed the bus. So, we walked home, cutting through a friend's yard, and their dog came out from under the truck and bit me in the face, breaking my jaw in three places. Didn't touch my sister. She was so scared to walk through there; I believe the dog thought I was a threat to her. He was protecting her. The one at 3, I probably pulled its tail or a handful of hair. To this day, people don't understand why I love dogs. It wasn't their fault. Never leave very young children with dogs until they understand how to treat them properly. And I have always been happy that the dog at 7 did it to me, not my sister. It took a very patient dog to teach me not to be afraid of them. Dogs are my favourite animals. I have had many through my life.

I grew up an army brat in a large family and we spent a large amount of our free time outside - exploring! If we ignored rubbish outside and my parents found out, we would get extra chores (usually picking up rubbish) and would lose our allowance for a week. Those were the days!!

Our modern society is designed to make us tired all the time so it can kill us early. Life was a lot simple in the 80s and 90s. No 24 hour Television or steaming services, no stores open 7 days a week, no internet or social media, no notifications from your mobile phone, no mobile phones that ring anytime of day or night, no 6 or 7 day work weeks, no cancers or heart diseases, no overly processed foods, no hundreds of fast food restaurants,no vaping,no bullies, no bill board ads in your face 24 hours a day, etc...Did I miss anything else?

Yes, I have been through this exact thing several times, and after my divorce I sold everything and moved to a small beach community where I have spent the last 8 years.
